Ordered that, Chicken Tilka, Paneer Stuffed Parantha, Tandoori Roti & Gulab Jaman for dinner, I noticed the one thing I thought I added that I wanted most was the samosas later and it wasn't on there. Called and they were difficult, they didn't speak English well. At all. Tried to get them to add and hopefully it works out. It took a while and the DoorDasher told me he had been waiting a while to get it. Still got it. They did have difficulty in understanding how to add the samosas to my order. Lunchtime!! Everything looked Great! Just ended up missing dinner that I ordered. Gulab Jaman. That was disappointing. Maybe they did that to make up for the dessert I paid for and didn't get? Figured I'd call them back after. It was definitely a lot to get them to understand. A LOT of food! Definitely a lot of leftovers!! Chicken Tikka was spicy and DELICIOUS! Lots of flavor!! Ordered food - butter chicken, dahl makhani, naans. We love their samosas and always drive down just to get them but they are now half the size at the same price. Tiny little toy sized samosas. They still taste good at least! However the dahl was loose and watery, no flavor just spice. The butter chicken was same, spicy but no good flavor and the meat was weird... we threw it away. Great lunch today at Shan-E Punjab! We've been here before but the cashier made a suggestion of trying the Malai Chicken Tikka along with our regular order of Chole and garlic naan. Everything was so tasty and delicious! A chef's kiss! We had to wait a minute or two for the food to be ready, but it was well worth the wait! The place is very busy, and they have so many things to try. They have large comfortable booths to sit in and a large television that displays tik-tok videos on how to cook some of the featured dishes. Amazing grocery store, you can find pretty much everything Punjabi here. I was surprised to see big tubs of Indian ice cream flavors in the freezer. I've also tried basmati brown rice which is way better than regular brown rice and probably cheaper too. We've tried their sweets and pastries they're all amazing. Burfi gulab jamun rasgullaa all are super tasty and fresh. Their restaurant food is okay. Gol gappas were disappointing, and we tried three different times. We also ordered shahi paneer and naan to go, very disappointing. Naan were like frozen naan heated up so crispy and hard to chew. We ordered primarily for kids and unfortunately they couldn't eat much, even us adults couldn't chew these. We tried reheating the naans but as soon they cooled down they turned into paapad lol. I've had the Torta de Lomo (think of a thin marinated pork steak) The Classic ham is bomb, also can't go wrong with The Hawaiana which has pineapple. These delicious tortas I like a sandwich on Bolillo (bowe-lee-yo) bread rolls. Everything means lettuce, tomato avocado, jalapeño, onion, Queso Fresco. You can add more spice with the green or red salsa. The red is too spicy for you if you have to ask. Pair this with a licuado ( protein shake without the protein) or Jugo ( fresh fruits/ veggie juice) Limonada ( lemonade). Service is fast, but order ahead. Their pani puri comes in a little cart which is the cutest thing, and Masala chai is to die for! They have a wide variety of groceries and useful items. We came across this place randomly as we were driving away from our hotel and saw a small sign out front about an Indian grocery store. We came in and saw that there was a full menu for Indian food, and the prices couldn't be beat. I got the samosas, which were only $0.75 each and it came with the green and tamarind chutneys. You can't beat that price! There are tables in the back of the store where you can eat your food. The logistics are kind of odd since your order your food in the same line that everyone buys their groceries. Then oh have to wait for the food to come to the counter while everyone else is getting their groceries rung up. The rest of the store was clean and well kept and there were a steady stream of people coming in. The only unfortunate thing about this store is the location -- this place is behind an empty storefront building and so it can be easy to miss. Be warn, if you're a foreigner the lady I'm sure is the owner will over charge you because she thinks foreigners are dumb. She over charged me the 1st time for the frozen paratha because she didn't know the price because it wasn't in the system. When I got home, there was lots of black stuff in the paratha. I gave them a second chance and the same lady over charge me for the jelebe $9.99, which I know is only $5.99 I gave her a 20 and she only return $10 to me. The staff was really rude. My daughter was trying to contact the owner for her school project and the staff faked their identity as they are the owner. It was the same voice 3 times as a cashier, then the manager and at last the owner. After this, they just hang up the call and haven't answered. She called them about 6 times and they gave the same answer again and again by saying they will call back after 5 minutes and the 5 minutes never came. She chose this restaurant because it was her all time favorite place and now she is so heart broken and sad after this incident. She never wants to go back to this place. If they don't want to answer the questions they can say "NO" at the very first time. She was crying for hours and it really made me feel bad. We are never going back to this horrible place.
