I walk past this place all the time but never had the time to go in until recently. I went here to get an acai smoothie during a weekday afternoon and it's a decent acai spot. It didn't as busy as it usually does when I walk past the place so I didn't have to wait in a long line to order, and my order was made pretty quickly (probably about 5 minutes). The acai smoothie tasted great and refreshing. If you're coming here to grab-and-go, then this is a great spot. But the place is pretty small, so of you're coming with friends or just want to stay and chill, it will be hard to find seating. read more

Palm is such an accommodating eatery for allergies and dietary restrictions. I am allergic to cashews, and they offered to change the açaí base for me (which is typically made with cashew milk) by subbing in coconut milk. They washed the blenders and allowed me to read the ingredients in their granola for me to ensure it was safe for me to eat. Not only were they super accommodating, but the bowl was the best I've had in Berkeley. I ordered the regular sized Palma, and added blueberries. They also have gluten free and vegan options. My husband and I were looking forward to checking out Palm, so we popped over this weekend for acai bowls. The place has a great look - clean, sleek, and modern. The staff were courteous, but friendly might be a stretch. There was a decent wait to get the bowls after we ordered them, which seemed incongruous given the high staff-to-customer ratio. My small Dragon bowl ($9) was...fine. The base was oddly bland, the mango was unripe to the point of crunchiness, and whoever added the toppings had a lighter hand than I'd expect. Wish I could be more generous in this review, but all I can muster is...meh. I won't be going back. read more

Palm has the best acai bowls I've ever had. I literally just finished crushing my bowl . Sometimes you get an acai bowl and the base is so tart or so sweet that you can't taste other ingredients. I got the hunter bowl and the base + toppings were balanced and contrast of textures were so addicting. When some of my base melted, it wasn't a watery soup of acai left in my cup. It still had a lot of substance. The bowl was so hearty and I felt so nourished with every bite. We also got the tropical smoothie and it was also perfectly balanced. I could literally taste the pineapple, coconut, strawberries, and bananas- none of the ingredients overpowered one another. On top of that their decor is so cute and Instagram worthy. This place is probably one of my favorites here in the bay. I've searched around for a good Açai place and this is probably the best. I usually order the hunter açai bowl and I substitute strawberries for the blueberries and they're totally fine with it. The only thing that I would wish for is for them to have a medium-size bowl because the large is too big and the small is not enough but everything else is great. read more

Coming from SoCal, it was extremely hard to find acai bowls that were 1. not watery 2. not artificial-y. Though I live pretty much across the street it's taken me until today to try this spot. The açaí is top notch! The bowls in particular are creative and delicious and expand upon in a fantastic way the standard açaí bowls with just bananas and granola I ate in Brazil when I lived there. Prices are a bit steep but that would not keep me from coming back. My kids and I ordered a large bowl and got three spoons. read more

My wife and I have visited this beautiful cafe a couple times since it opened and we both love this healthy & delicious offering in the Elmwood area. We both love acai bowls so we are on the look out for them wherever we go - this place makes each order fresh unlike a lot of other places we've tried and each order is super generous with the fresh fruit. Overall, my favorite acai bowls that I've tried so far. We've tried a range of açaí bowls (our favorites are the gatherer & hunter - both solid 5 stars), cold brews (love the unique Oaxacan brew which has a hint of spice), and both the avocado and PB&J toasts (made with Sconehenge English muffins - so good!). Serviceable acai bowl, but nothing to write home about. At $9 a bowl, I was hoping for something a bit more. I had the "Palm" bowl and found it a bit flavorless - just a big bowl of cold fruit mush. I would have preferred a bit more honey and granola. Admittedly, I think of acai bowls as a "treat yourself" moment, rather than a superfood meal that will align my chakras. The Palma is a really great combo of honey and oats evenly from top to bottom, with strawberry and banana layered in and on top super delish way to start the day! And the pb&j toast had the warmest softest & crunchy toast.
