Palm Bay Septic has always been my "go to" company for septic tank pump outs. Two gentlemen (I apologize I did not get their names) just finished pumping out my system this morning. They were both extremely cordial and answered all of my questions. They (as well as the home office) called me to tell me the Technicians were on their way to service the septic tank. They arrived on time, did a thorough job, and wished me happy holidays as they left. Palm Bay Septic is on par with their pricing and was able to quickly get me on the schedule before I "overflowed." I had my septic system replaced in 2023 and it has never worked correctly since the installation. I constantly have to have the tanks drained and have had water come to the surface from the inground unit. I have repeatedly tried to call and get the matter resolved with the owner, always have to leave a message with no follow up call form the company. I strongly recommend against doing business with this company. I contracted with them in December 2023 to replace my septic tank and drain field. Nearly eight months later no work had begun. In response to my inquiries every few weeks, Palm Bay Septic repeatedly blamed delays by the Health Department in issuing a permit. However, the Health Department's correspondence file reveals that the application was not even submitted until 73 days after the contract was signed and soil samples collected. Subsequently, Palm Bay Septic delayed a total of 97 days responding to requests for additional information. The application was in the hands of the Health Department for processing for only 67 days of the total of 239 days until the permit was issued. By that time, because of the lack of reliable and credible communication with me, because of my concern about key employees having left the company, and because I had incurred the expense of pumping out the tank four times, I had lost all confidence in Palm Bay Septic's ability to perform the project. I engaged another firm to do the work, and that firm completed the project successfully and professionally one week after I signed a contract with them. I have asked for a refund of the deposit I placed with Palm Bay Septic (less costs of obtaining the permit). After some initial noncommittal responses, Palm Bay Septic now ignores my repeated refund requests. There is a reason why Palm Bay Septic has a Better Business Bureau rating of F. You may find some 5-star reviews online, but you should note the dates - most of them are from years ago (when, in my experience, they were a reliable and capable company). If you do decide to hire Palm Bay Septic, I strongly encourage you to insist on an addition to their standard contract to include a latest allowable completion date. BEWARE! READ THIS BEFORE CALLING PALM BAY SEPTIC! As part of a high end home sale we requested a septic inspection and pump out for our 7 year old home. We called them and they were able to see our system online through the county records and said it would be extra because we have a 2 tank system. We agreed and they showed up at the agreed time. They did their locating, pumping and performed the inspection test. They indicated that they system failed and it would be $17 to $20,000 to replace the system and I should schedule as soon as possible because it could take up to 3 months to get the work done and I needed to get in the queue. Not knowing how this would impact the sale we asked for the report and their field guy just wrote "FAILED" on the receipt ($785). Considering the length of time quoted we chose to call some other septic companies in Brevard. By the next day we received 3 written quotations for area companies all between $9,500 - $10,000 to replace the djainfield system. But, one owner said that this just seemed impossible for this 4 BR system to fail with only 2 people living there in this short of time and offered to give us a 2nd opinion at no charge. This company came out and confirmed that Palm Bay never opened or pumped the 2nd tank and that is why the system failed the inspection performance test. They performed the test and certified the system. When I confronted Palm Bay Septic I was expecting some remorse and desire to make it right. I even agreed that I would pay for the pump out of the 1st tank, but certainly should not pay for the 2nd tank or the inspection. The manager said she would look into it and get back to me......but, crickets! I cannot say that the whole incident was an intentional effort to defraud a home seller into an inflated $17 - $20,000 service, but I found that their business practices and customer service stinks worse that the single tank that they opened. Showed up went to the back of the house through the fence without letting us know, dug three large holes to find the tank, which we could have told them where it was. Then did a 30 minute test in 10 minutes, put the lid on, then instead of filling in the top stole some pavers from the walkway and threw on top of the tank. Then as they were cleaning up to go I noticed them cleaning the hose on my driveway right in front of the front door. Now to top it off they had pulled into the driveway with their very large truck and broke about 40 feet of the driveway, all because they drove off the driveway, then claimed I told them they could do that. So now I'm stuck with a $4000 concrete bill all because they were too stupid to know their truck not only couldn't drive on 4 inch concrete, but drove off the concrete which is what really started the break. First why would they even ask, if they asked, to drive on concrete they know they would break, and what type of driving skills did the driver have not so stay on the concrete, I back a trailer out of the driveway all the time with a full sized truck and never go off the concrete. Also it was just over 100 feet from the road to the tank, so there was no reason when they had 300 feet on the truck, pure lazy, terrible service. read more

Stay away from this company. If you need to have a septic system inspected prior to buying a home call literally anyone else. Doing a poor inspection and leaving someone stuck with a massive repair bill is one thing, but flat out ignoring you and going to every possible length to avoid rectifying their mistake is disgusting. Save yourself the headache and money. Shortly after reviewing on Google I received an email apologizing for the delay and that I would get a call the following day to discuss the serious issues the company left me with. Nobody called. We hired Palm Bay Septic to dig a new drain field for us. Prior to this job they did pump outs for us and we had no problems. We gave them 3,300.00 down and waited for them to apply for the permit from the health department. I called twice and was told the health department was taking a long time. Finally almost 3 months later we called the health department to check for ourselves and we were told it was not even applied for yet. When I called Kyle Owen and told him we knew he never applied for the permit and told him how very upset we were and complained he finally applied for the permit. He was obviously using our money in the mean time. Finally they dug our new drain field. We then gave them another 3,350.00. Not even a year later it wasn't working properly our drain field was wet and our toilets were backing up. We had them come out and look for a problem they were out twice did an inspection and admitted that it wasn't draining and said they would fix it they needed to figure out what went wrong, promised don't worry we will take care of this. Kyle Owen the owners son gave us his word and his cell phone number said he will be in touch. We never heard from him again so we started calling and complaining. The owner Sean Owen never ever returned our calls, but his brother came out looked at the problem and said don't worry my brother will take care of this. We took them at their word and waited. No phone calls from them to us nothing was being done to fix the problem. We called several times left voice messages and text messages and e-mails to the owner and messages with their receptionist. NO ONE has ever returned our calls. We borrowed the money to have this new drain field dug because it really had to be done septic backing up into our house. Kyle new the position we were in and just bold face lied to us over and over again. Because of all this we now have to pump out our septic every 4 months. this is a great expense we cannot afford. I have used them several times over the years and they were always good. However, the last time we were told we needed a new drain field and replacement of a holding tank. I asked for an estimate, it has been 6 weeks and I have reached out over 5 times. Every time I am told that there is one guy who does the estimates and person answering phone will put it on his desk. Seriously why am I begging them for their business? It should be the other way around. Not sure what has happened with their customer service, but I will no longer be using them .
