My aesthetician was Ciara. I had my eyebrows, lips, under arms and Brazilian done. At soon as I walked in, I can smell weed on her, especially as her hands were close to my face, and I smelled it on her breathing on me. But that's not the worst. It felt like I was the first customer because the wax was really hot. I had mentioned it to her several times that it was hot and she even told me that she noticed it so when she did my eyebrows but she continued to do my eyebrows and upper lips. She even put more wax on top even after she said that she notice it. I did keep on letting her know that it was still too hot. She asked if this was the first time I've had wax done, and I told her - no. I've been getting waxed for the last 25 years. When I got to my car to check my face, I had large noticeable burnt spots under my eyebrows, both left and right and over my upper lip, both left and right. I went back to the store to show the manager, Francesca Moreira, to complain about the burn spots from Ciara. The manager told me that it looks a little red; and when I told her to look closer and that Ciara actually burnt skin off, she told me that she was not certified to say so or not. It does not take a genius to see that skin was taken from the hot wax. There's a huge difference. I'm not sure how she is the manager of a team of aestheticians, and not certified just to see that Ciara, or other aestheticians, actually took skin off when Ciara waxed my eyebrows and upper lip. I had to ask to talk to the Regional Manager, Tony Badolato, but she only offered to provide me an email. I had to call back several times because she provided two incorrect emails where it was undeliverable because it didn't exist. Finally, the front desk provided me with the correct one. It took 3x times to get a hold of the regional manager. I had to go to work with burnt scabs on my face. I cried upset over the whole experience. Bottom line, I will not be coming back to any European Wax location. This experience destroyed any expectation I might have with any other aesthetician they might have on staff or the managers they hire who don't have training or is certified in the service they provide. If I could give ZERO stars, I would. I did get reimbursed but not until after I was asked to provide pictures for proof by the Regional Manager. It was a horrific experience. Never again.

But the front desk spa staff said that the pass was only for the day of and when I asked at the main front desk some of the staff whom I assume was management hanging out at the desk rudely also told me that it was for the day of like I was trying to take advantage of them or something. Was that really neccessary? I didnt have my gym gear but I went to the women's locker room couch and vegged/relaxed. Then I got something at the not busy too cafe which I got to go which took more time than it should. When I got home, I opened the meal and it was the wrong order but completely delicious so I devoured it. I was still wheelchair bound at that point and Maria was very kind and accommodating. Initially I just wanted my hair cut very short so I could manage it. The charge was $70 (+20% tip) which was more than I'd paid anywhere else for a cut (usually $35-45) and blow dry, but the salon is close by and convenient, so be it. Once my hair grew back to where I needed a cut and styling that I could handle, I went back to Maria. I asked for color, partial hilites, and cut. I showed her a picture of me with the color and cut I wanted. Maria never quoted me a price but during the almost three hour appointment, did several processes on my hair. She claimed she was doing the hilites at the same time as the color. (I never could actually see the hilites). When my husband came to pick me up Maria took my credit card and I was shocked to see a charge of $360. I'd never paid more than $155 elsewhere for cut and color. Rather than make a fuss and upset my husband, I not only paid the $360 but added a tip to make it $400. Maria said I needed a Keritin treatment at my next visit so I figured at least another $200. Over the weeks after my visit, my brown color began to turn red. I called Maria and she told me to come in to fix it. When I did, she used a darker shade and added a "glaze" which she said would stabilize the color. As I went to leave, thinking there'd be no charge for the fix, Maria asked for my card. I protested that it was her service that was at fault, but she countered that I'd waited too long to call her. This time just for repairing the color, the charge was $130 (obviously no tip!!) So, I have paid a total of $530 to Hilites. I spoke to a friend who is also a hairdresser in Las Vegas who advised me against a Keritin treatment since my hair is short and grows fast. I left the salon feeling angry and duped. As Maria was doing all those treatments during my second appointment she should have itemized the cost of each and I probably should have asked. But I was thinking it would probably come to @$200. And she certainly should not have charged me for the fix of my color. I do not recommend this salon to anyone. I believe Maria works to build big bills. I noticed at least two other reviews similar to mine.

I stalked him and found that he is working with Maria in the Hilites hair salon and immediately made an appointment for my husband and I. They are both incredibly talented VERY hospitable (I ate all of Maria's candy) and such wonderful people overall.
