The employees of this company need to work on their ability to explain things to their customers. I had a spray tan membership and decided to cancel because it was pool season and I didn't need a fake tan. The girl gave me the third degree as to why I was canceling and then asked if I wanted to put my membership on hold for a small fee. I agreed because I figured I'd be back once it got to cold to lay out. She failed to specify that they would be charging me $7.64 every single month. Fast forward months and months, I'm paying closer attention to what gets pulled out of my account I noticed this fee. Completely my fault to not pay closer attention to what money was being taken out, but it needed to stop. I went into the salon to cancel, not ask for my money back, but cancel. I was informed I had a balance of 17 dollars and some odd cents, even though I hadn't used their services for almost two years. The charges were from a payment that didn't go through because I had turned my debit card off at the time. When I asked the girl why I should have to pay that fee when they've taken almost $200 from me to "pause" my account without me using their services for almost two years, she shrugged and said she can't cancel it with a smug smirk on her face. If the first girl would have specified that the fee was monthly I would have just canceled. I'm unhappy with the services and how rude and unsympathetic the employees are. Thank goodness my bank has fantastic customer service and with one called initiated a stop payment so they can't take my money anymore and have filed a claim to have me reimbursed. Never read the reviews for here before, but had to write my experience because I've never experienced less than great like others state they did. Spray tans always turn out great too, I use the versaspa pro, most other places only have mystic spa, but it's terrible. read more

Sadly, I experienced continual high pressure sales for lotions. There were many times I would go in the afternoon and beds needed cleaned, even though the place wasn't busy at all. Message: I am a single mom and I have been tanning at this salon for over a year with a monthly membership that comes out of my account every month. My son will be 9 years old in 2 months. Today I was just informed by a new employee that he can no longer sit in the lobby and wait for me due to company policy. For the last 2 years my son has always sat quietly in the lobby doing homework or playing on his phone. The staff has complimented me many times on his god behavior. He is very mature for his age and I could have fibbed and said he was already 9 however I am an honest person. This policy has never been brought up to me in the last 2 years. And the New staff refused to allow me to tan today. I was forced to cancel my membership because I simply do not have anyone to watch him for 10 min while I tan. I will never step foot in another palm beach tanning salon again. They did a very poor job at setting thier members expectations. Very disappointed. read more

I signed up in the beginning of this year, and from the beginning I had a bad experience. There phone number online was wrong, so I finally walked in and the girl who signed me up was nice but was short and to the point, which made me feel like she was only worried about up selling everything and ONLY cared about making commission. The day after I signed up I went to go tanning in the morning because I had a late start at work that morning... I wait 15 minutes outside their door for them to open... and then get told that I can't tan because I have to wait a FULL 24 hours to tan... I was shocked. Never was I told that let alone never have I heard that. And, she tells me it is Arizona laws... first if it was why would other tanning salons allow it?? Ridiculous. And then they don't allow your children to wait for you in the lobby... After a month going there, I wont be going back. My last visit was my last because I again got in the bed and had to yell out for her to start it because she once again forgot... 10 minutes went by and I was still waiting... I work 2 jobs and try to go between jobs so I am always in a hurry so this was very frustrating to me. And then I notice the room hadn't even been clean because there was some things left behind in there that if the room had been cleaned prior to me they wouldn't have been left in there!! I called and spoke to her about it telling her how frustrated I was with how many times I have gone in there and was in a hurry and had to wait for her to turn the bed on... among a few other things. The manager just was so unfriendly. I told her I was done going there and would stop coming I wanted to cancel my membership especially since I found one who actually lets your kids sit in the lobby while you tan...huge huge plus because I am a single mom and work 2 jobs and it is so hard for me to get time alone out of the house without them... she NEVER once told me that I had to come in and sign a piece of paper in fact she said fine I will go ahead and cancel your membership. And then I had to walk in there because I noticed they tried running my card the next month, luckily I had not put money into that account that month so didn't go through and I told the girl when I went in I cancelled and they shouldn't have even attempted to run my card... she went on about when I cancelled what date etc I said I didn't remember to ask her manager and I would be calling their corporate office and I walked out. Again nothing was said about some piece of paper needing to be signed.Another month went by and then I find they ran my card AGAIN! I then called them and was upset the young lady advised me that the Manger who I spoke with is NO LONGER THERE. How convenient. I went over here with what had happened-- after waiting on hold for 10 minutes she finally was able to find me corporate phone number. Because someone couldn't do their job I am now PAYING for it. Corporate left me a message telling me they weren't going to be refunding me. I promise you I won't refer to you guys AGAIN. And those who are shopping around there is many more options for you... and Celebrity Tanning is one that is better especially those who have KIDS. I have never written a yelp review before, but my experience was so great I felt like I should. I called this morning with a couple questions about a spray tan. I have never gotten a spray tan before so I was a little nervous. All my questions were more then answered and I felt less nervous about the spray tan. I walked in to tan many hours later and the girl working, Paige, recognized me from my call somehow and was so sweet. She informed me about products that would benefit me but wasn't pushy with selling at all. She walked me into the room and explained the process step by step and answered my hundred questions. I am new to the Peoria area and wasn't sure where I wanted to go tan, the location was convenient to work so I chose the Thunderbird location. I was not told about all their fees and did get $20 off my initial payment for the month of July. As I tanned on a regular basis, I heard a customer say that she did not want any more charges made to her credit card. I inquired about those extra charges & told every worker at the front desk when I tanned, DO NOT CHARGE MY CREDIT CARD any additional fees. I tanned just for July as I was going back home on vacation & knew I would not tan anymore. I was told there would be no charges on my credit card. I get back from my trip & check my credit card statement & low & behold, a frickin fee for canceling my "membership". First of all, I was not told this was a membership program... I just wanted to tan for vacation ONLY! I went back to tell them I wanted my refund & reiterated that I told every worker not to charge my card. I was also told that a refund would be made... 4 months later & still no refund! I would definitely NOT recommend this place whatsoever!! Very unprofessional staff & will definitely take my business elsewhere. read more
