I paid extra to be put out in twilight . Someone prior to him apparently missed that I had a cavity and the tooth could not be saved . This was the 1st time ever I had to have a tooth extracted other than the wisdom teeth and was more than happy with the results . I did not want any issues later in life but he said it barely moves and could possibly take many years 10 or more even that to have an issue . He did not recommend extraction unless I am feeling uncomfortable. I guess I'll check back next year but I do have insurance now and wanted to take a precaution . He is wonderful and said he would do it if that's what I wanted but would wait He works out of Kawa Orthodontics office which has a welcoming and soothing waiting area of the ocean and sea throughout the whole place. I believe this relaxes the patients especially kids who need to have braces etc. I would not go to any other oral surgeon . The only other great one was Dr Russo who did my wisdom but believe he is retired .

I finally got a hold of her and was told that my insurance just send back the information and she will get back to me when a check for my difference will be mailed out. 2 weeks past and I got nothing in the mail. So I decided o call back and I was told that they try calling me and did not got a hold of me and left a message on my voicemail. I told her I never received any message. She then told me I need to file out a form that will be sent to my emai and to send it back to receive my money. I print the form and send it back . But on the form it says it can take up to 90 days to receive a check. This is rediculous. They took my 1000 dollars all at once the week before surgery but now I have to wait 90 days for a refund. My insurance company said since I was in network they should not have charged me upfront smh. I will not recommend them to anyone. And if I never follow up they would never had reach back out to me.

As a doctor myself, I am very familiar with front desk staff and insurance. After my cleaning in February, I was advised i needed to have a filling or some type of work done. I prepaid for the service at the suggestion of the front desk, and made an apt to have the procedure 2 weeks later. When I came in the morning of the procedure, I was told that the cost was going to be almost double what I was quoted (and had already prepaid). I felt uncomfortable and confused, and decided to ask for a refund and go to a friend of mine who is an orthodontist whom i trust. It is now May, I have not received a refund. I have called 10+ times. Giana has never returned my calls. Every time i call she is "on Lunch" or "in a meeting". Today when I called the phone mysteriously disonnected. I have lost hundreds of dollars, and nobody has returned any of my calls. Completely unprofessional. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else that has an office staff that actually does their job.

Jason Wilner was one of the most unprofessional and troubling healthcare providers I have ever…read moreencountered. Not only was his work substandard, but his demeanor was arrogant, dismissive, and seemingly indifferent to patient care. During a procedure involving my upper jaw, while I was under sedation, he extracted a tooth from my lower jaw without my knowledge, consent, or any prior discussion. The extraction had never been included in the treatment plan. . When I confronted Dr. Wilner and asked whether he had extracted the tooth and why, he casually replied, "You didn't need it anyway." The first temporary prosthesis provided by Dr. Wilner was severely ill-fitting. The right side was excessively high, preventing me from closing my mouth properly and leaving a significant gap between the prosthesis and my gums. Despite raising these concerns immediately, I was dismissed from the office and told to return in two days. On the day of the follow-up, Dr. Wilner attempted to postpone the appointment by two additional weeks. I insisted on being seen because I was experiencing significant discomfort, impaired speech, and difficulty controlling saliva. Although he eventually performed a basic adjustment, something that could have been addressed during the original appointment, the outcome remained unacceptable. A large gap persisted, trapping food debris and making oral hygiene extremely difficult. When I raised these functional concerns, Dr. Wilner responded with hostility, accusing me of "complaining too much." In addition, his dental assistant repeatedly caused cuts and lacerations to my gums during procedures. When I reported this, Dr. Wilner dismissed the issue entirely, responding, "What do you want me to do about it?" Approximately one week after surgery, I experienced a serious complication in which liquids began passing from my mouth into my nasal cavity while drinking. When I contacted the office using their designated aftercare number, the response was both unprofessional and accusatory. I was told that I had "done this to myself" and was "blowing [my] gums open," before being directed to go to the emergency room. My primary care physician later advised that the issue was likely a sinus perforation caused by drilling too deeply into the jawbone during the dental procedure. The entire experience at this office was deeply traumatic. In addition to the poor quality of the dental work, I endured repeated verbal hostility throughout the process. The second prosthesis fit no better than the first, and Dr. Wilner ultimately had to cut a tooth off the prosthesis simply to make it fit. Even after that adjustment, the prosthesis continued to interfere with my speech because of the large gap. When I expressed concern, he yelled at me and refused to remake it. The third prosthesis fit somewhat better, but the gum coloration appeared unnaturally white and artificial, and I began biting the inside of my mouth while chewing. When I reported these problems, my concerns were dismissed, and I was told that I needed to "retrain" how I chew. Throughout the entire process, I was rarely provided with follow-up appointments and was repeatedly told only that "we will call you." After months of delays, missed follow-ups, and pressure to sign documentation stating that I was satisfied with the treatment when I was not, Dr. Wilner again yelled at me, used profanity, and threatened to refund my money if I left "without teeth." I was later charged an unexpected additional $2,500 in order for him to complete the final prosthesis. Even then, the prosthesis still did not fit properly, and communication from the office became increasingly unreliable. To this day, food continues to get trapped between my gums and the prosthesis, and I still occasionally bite the inside of my mouth. Although I remained dissatisfied with the outcome, I ultimately reached a point where I simply wanted the ordeal to end. One concludes that professional ethics remain entirely foreign to him.
