Our small group of three wandered in on a Friday afternoon having heard that Palm Tree Club had a good happy hour. It was pretty busy, but we found three seats at the bartop and were greeted quickly. We ordered from the happy hour menu and really liked: Atlantic Crunch Roll (roasted salmon, tempura flakes, cucumber, eel sauce) Tempura Veggie Roll (asparagus, pickled vegetables, avocado) Cucumber Sunomono - light and vinegary, thinly sliced cucumber Lavender Hugo Spritz - refreshing Chardonnay --- Toffee Popcorn - if something is possible to be both sticky and mushy, this was that - I don't recommend. Overall, I would go here again for happy hour. We were also told that the rooftop be a good time, so we might try that next time. read more

My friend and I had an 8:00 p.m. reservation and, overall, the atmosphere at Palm Tree Club is absolutely beautiful. The vibe is fun, the décor is gorgeous, and the DJ/music really set the mood. We each had two cocktails and a sushi roll. My cocktails were delicious, although I was a little surprised that martinis priced at $26 and $15 were served in plastic cups rather than chilled glassware. It's possible this was because drinks aren't allowed in glass outside, but it was still unexpected at that price point. The food was just okay--not bad, but not something I'd specifically come back for. The evening took an awkward turn around 9:15 when our server, who was wonderful, asked if we wanted a third round of drinks. We declined because we were getting ready to head home. About five minutes later, the hostess politely informed us that another party had a 9:30 reservation for our table and that we needed to leave. Thankfully, we were already planning to leave, but it left me wondering what would have happened if we had accepted that third round. There was no mention of a time limit when the reservation was made, so being asked to leave felt a little abrupt. I've gone so back and forth about how to rate this place. What's good is really good! The food was by far a highlight. Everything we ordered was yummy. I was a little worried about the range of the menu, but it wasn't a problem at all. The drinks were good too, my lavender Hugo spritz was very refreshing. The espresso martini flight was fun for a large group, but I probably wouldn't order it again. Our waitress was also so sweet and took care of everything for us. Unfortunately I had such a hard time making a rooftop reservation for our party of 7. I called the host stand three times, filled out a form online, and sent multiple emails before receiving a contract for our reservation. The seating we ended up at didn't really fit our party size, it was more like two totally separate tables. We squeezed into one and definitely didn't have enough space. I wish someone would have steered me towards a large table inside! I'd come back with a smaller group or a table inside. read more

Absolutely gorgeous venue!! Definitely recommend sitting upstairs or the rooftop for the best views. Went with a party of 6 and we agreed that it was excellent place for drinks and appetizers when you have a few hours to spend! Like many other reviews here- this is a great option if you are not on a time crunch! We were sat 45 minutes after our reservation time, and the managers were the main ones hosting so maybe they are in a season of staff transition. Their menu is Asian-Italian fusion, not necessarily overlapping- they just offer both. We tried three sushi rolls, the Firecracker Roll was our favorite and I would get it again- the spicy tuna and Atlantic crunch roll were average. Other appetizer favorites were the spicy edamame hummus (bright green!) and wagyu dumplings. Toffee popcorn was a fun concept but is basically spicy caramel popcorn :) The black truffle pizza was a table favorite as well as the steak frites. The shaved green papaya salad and Tagliatelle rigate bolognese were just okay-- tagliatelle noodles and amount of wagyu in the sauce was great but the bolognese sauce itself didn't pop. There is house music and a dj- perfect for an evening out, but you will be talking loud so maybe not the best first date spot. They do validate parking! The overall aesthetic feels like you're walking into a place in Cali. From the comfy couches to the wall art, it's stunning. They have a DJ occasionally but did not get to experience on a Sunday day (would be cool to have day time dj!!). My sister and I decided to stop in to try out the Palm Tree Club after visiting a Holiday Pop Up bar. The vibe from the street was cool, so we walked in and were greeted at the Hostess stand. We asked if we could sit outside in the lounge area since the evening was so nice, the hostess said yes however it might be busy. As we walked through the restaurant I was in awe of the beautiful bar area and fun lighting and vibes of the restaurant. There was fun music playing and videos of a beach scenery . We walked to the outdoor lounge which was not too busy. We opted to sit at a table-they had lounge chairs and sofas as well outdoors. There were also fireplaces all around the lounge. They have a full service bar as well as servers upstairs in the lounge. Our server was friendly, she greeted us with menus and gave us a couple minutes to look over the menu. We ordered cocktails and then decided to order/share a Sushi Roll. Sorry, I was terrible with writing down the names off the menu-I was enjoying the night. Came here with a party of 10 to celebrate my 33 birthday on a Friday. The good: We were sat immediately. The atmosphere of the restaurant is great, and we really enjoyed the Brussel Sprouts, the shrimp cocktail had very large shrimp, the drinks were all very good and strong. The pizzas were great, the chicken salad was really good. The roof top was really nice, and seating was free when we were there. The not so good: Our server was brand new, which isn't a problem, but management didn't seem ready to support her. Our drinks took forever from the bar, a bottle of wine took about 15 minutes, and titos and redbull and gin and tonic took about 20. It also took about 20 minutes for them to sort out our checks, which were still not totally correct. This place is also pricey. Also, the sushi, while not bad was nothing special. Worth noting: they don't take cash, and some nights there's an additional cover to go to the rooftop, and seating is an additional charge. We also got stuck paying $50 to park in the nearby parking garages, but there's Valet out front for $30. I would visit again, just not with a large party and I might stick to apps and drinks at the bar, and would avoid the weekend. For the price I would expect better service from the bar especially. read more

Welcome to Miami Kansas City! I had an amazing time last night visiting palm Tree Club. When entering it rely give you the south beach feels. This place has really turned KC downtown into south beach. It seemed like everyone wanted to come in and either eat, drink, or party all night. Me and my date had a great time and the meals were great we had a sushi A5 with was so delicious and will come back for those again. Also great drinks the lemon drip was tasty and the old fashioned with the smoke was smooth. I love the presentation of the old fashioned and the smoke. The ambiance transports you to the south beach with the menu that follows. Service was great as well slow but it's understandable since the place is packed with people. If I could give 0 stars I would. My sister and I came here before the Jonas Brothers concert. We had a reservation at 5:45, they were crowded when we got there. They gave us the tiniest table right next to the host stand. It was fine but we felt right on top of them as they worked. It took 20 minutes before our server even came to our table. He came to the table next to us but never acknowledged us. When he finally did come he offered water and then hit the road. Okay he finally comes back and we order drinks and two sushi rolls and the lobster wontons. We sit there for 45 minutes and nothing comes out. We're concerned because people have come in after us, been seated and ordered and eaten before we even get our drinks. Our server comes over and tells us that our drinks were given to another table on accident and he'll put them in again. (No worries we still had to pay for them!) then we also put in a pizza because we didn't want to wait too long. All the while we're sitting here for 45 minutes with nothing but water and the manager was at the host stand and never said anything. We finally get our drinks and sushi rolls. (Drink was 98% ice) and we got no soy sauce or chopsticks with the sushi. We had to ask multiple times. We then were offered our bill, my sister and I decided to cut our losses and leave. We didn't need the pizza anyway I guess. Our server ignored us regularly, the manager had to have noticed we were agitated as we were pretty much on top of the host stand where he was and no one ever tried to make up for it. As someone who works in hospitality it was horrendous and I have never had such terrible awful service. The atmosphere is beautiful but I would never go again or recommend it to anyone. The food was mid and pricey for what it was. Blue sushi would be much better. Overall we were there for 1.5 hours and got appetizers lol. We were ignored and would have ordered more if we had any decent service. It was awful. If you were understaffed my advice would be to check out T-Mobile schedule when putting together your schedule! read more

Booked a reservation a week ago and they said there was no reservation when we arrived. Talk about stressful. Drinks were watered down and overpriced, sushi was good though. My chair was lopsided. Like it wasn't level and rocked back and forth throughout the whole evening which was quite annoying. My boyfriend was visiting from Arizona, and I had been so excited to finally try Palm Tree Club since it opened. We decided to stop in for cocktails after dinner, but unfortunately our first experience was very disappointing. The moment we walked in, the manager was arguing with the hostess. The hostess was visibly shaking her head and rolling her eyes while they discussed the kitchen closing in the next 10 minutes. We weren't planning on ordering dinner--just dessert and a few cocktails--but the interaction made it feel like our presence was an inconvenience from the start. It created a very awkward first impression. They seated us at a table directly behind them that wasn't even set up yet, so they had to prepare it while we stood there waiting. It wasn't the most welcoming atmosphere. Our server came over, and we quickly ordered a dessert before the kitchen closed, then asked for another minute to decide on our drinks. After placing our cocktail order, we waited an unusually long time for them to arrive. While we waited, we were served water that wasn't cold and came in dirty glasses, which was another disappointment. Once we finished our drinks, we waited so long for our server to return that by the time he finally came back, we had completely lost interest in staying. We simply asked for the check and left. I had heard great things about Palm Tree Club and was genuinely looking forward to visiting, especially with my boyfriend in town. Sadly, our first experience fell far short of expectations. I went on a Sunday evening and was overstimulated. Instead of sitting at a traditional table, they seated us in lounge chairs with a small table in the middle. After waiting awhile, we flagged down a server and ordered two glasses of wine and shared one roll. The most atrocious part was that the tab was $90! We were going to have dinner there but decided to leave because the menu felt confusing and overpriced. I have a slight obession with palm trees, so as soon as I heard about it, I wanted to go, even without knowing about what kind of food they had. Reservation made, we arrived a little early and were immediately sat down. However, the seat by the door was pretty cramped and was crazy busy with all the people trying to come in. The oysters were probably one of the best I've ever had. The flavor was so good! I also got a couple sushi rolls and sampled some drinks. My favorite drink was the Tropical Coconut Paradise, that comes in the cutest pineapple cup (the top turns into the stand) and a popsicle! The waiter we had was so kind and he was telling us how excited he was to work there. For coming in on the opening weekend, I was super impressed. Usually the first bit of opening, restaurants have things to work out, but it seemed good! We did have to wait awhile on drinks and food, but it was also PACKED in there! We did a kind of make our own tapas experience because my coworker and I share lots of small dishes to try more flavors. Every dish was full of flavor and cooked amazingly. The crispy rice was the best and the Brussel sprouts were fantastic. Third: the DRINKS. Do not sleep on the Amber Drift. It's like a pecan pie had a baby with a Werther's Original and it's not too sweet and the right amount of liquor. And fourth: the service. This is the ONLY reason this place is getting 4 stars. We were sat at a table in the bar and waited 15 minutes for a server before we asked one of the sports coat guy managers for help. He explained there were "executives" there that night & the staff was on pins and needles, but still - we had MANY folks pass us during that time and didn't stop. Even after we had our server showed up, he didn't check back in to see if we wanted another cocktail and just came back to give us the check. I had to refill my own water cup a few times...but the food and potential of it not being an "executive" night would make us go back for a 2nd try. read more

This place aesthetics are on point. We came here after the Chiefs game to pregame before we went out. We had a section upstairs on the patio lounge and it was so beautiful. We just ordered some cocktails, appetizers and bottles of wine, but the appetizers did not disappoint. Neither did the cocktails. That brief encounter that we had definitely left me wanting more, a full dining experience. Can't wait to go back. Definitely recommend the potato sticks, the margarita, pizza, and the pepperoni pizza. The meatballs were good as well. I don't like Riesling because it's too sweet, but they had a really good reason on the menu if you like pinot Grigio or more dryer wines, you would definitely would appreciate this wine. What a disaster. I had high hopes for this restaurant, but it turned out to be one of the worst dining experiences I've had in a long time. We waited 30 minutes past our reservation to be seated, then another 15 minutes with no service before a manager came over. When I told her we were ready to order, she got snippy and dismissive, which set the tone for the rest of the night. Our server was kind but overwhelmed--it was her second night, and she had the entire upstairs (around nine tables and two large parties) to herself. Meanwhile, three managers stood around chatting as she struggled. I had to go to them myself just to ask for soy sauce and chopsticks. My drink never arrived, yet it still appeared on the check. When I asked about it, the manager acted irritated before finally removing it. The lack of leadership and basic hospitality was shocking. The food was fine--but forgettable. The server did her best, but the management's attitude ruined the experience. I wouldn't be surprised if that poor server quits soon if things don't change. read more

My husband, 13 year old daughter and myself decided to have brunch here on a beautiful Sunday morning. Upon arrival, I informed the hostess at the counter that I had a reservation for 3 but my husband was parking the car. While I waited, she asked which seating did we prefer, indoor or out, top floor or bottom. I wanted to check out the place before making a decision so a second hostess volunteered to give me a tour while I waited for the rest of my party. This place is beautiful and definitely gives a beach city resort vibe. The top floor has rooftop seating with a full service bar and a place for photo ops which I was told is beautifully lit at night. There's also open indoor seating that can be rented as an event space as well with a single tequila bar just within a few steps of each table. The hostess also informed us that around 1pm or so, a live DJ will play as guests dine during late brunch/lunch time. Unfortunately we left before we had the opportunity to experience this. We chose to sit on the main entry level on the patio and it was lush and gorgeous. Surprisingly, we weren't met with any annoying insects. The staff were super friendly and so eager to serve us and the food....my goodness the food was incredible! We are looking forward to returning for dinner in the near future. read more

Cons: Don't try to walk in and get a table! Zero seats at the bar and the lady at the front desk told us they were booked out for 6 weeks for reservations! Our food came out and we had to wait about 10 minutes before getting utensils. The music was not great but not horrible..... it was techno music kinda. Pros: The bartender we had was the best, his name was Stan and he was a vibe. He made excellent drinks and a great service. The food was tasty, restroom was clean and there was an attendant making sure it stayed tidy.
