Chorizo was just across the street from our hotel so we overlooked it at first. I now regret that. The ambience, the food, the experience. Everything was great. We could've easily eaten 3-4 meals here! This is a menu worth exploring. Interesting S American cuisine. The four people in our party all ordered something different and tried to decide who ordered the best meal. The Indio plate had so many different flavor profiles, but came together for a savory meal. We all left stuffed with food still on our plates. Too many choices to want to split a plate, but portions are bountiful. Great value, diverse menu and friendly staff! I ordered the Pork Arepa and Yuka Fries. The food was delicious - fresh, very flavorful and well balanced. The staff was friendly and did not act annoyed at us for bringing kids along. They even came out and offered us a high chair. Even though the restaurant is small, they had ample outdoor seating as well. We enjoyed our lunch immensely! When we return to the area, we'll have to come back and try more from the menu.

It is squeaky clean and decorated so nicely. The owner has a great sense of humor as evidenced by his posted hours by the door. Everything is gluten free. I wish this was in my hometown. I would eat there several times a week. I will certainly return when I am in Asheville again, and am even considering placing an order on my last day here to take home for dinner. One thing to note: street parking only as the lot next to the building belongs to another establishment, and they don't play with you parking in their spots.

It did come with some kind of fruit sauce on the side (maybe strawberry?) but I didn't wanna make it a fruity chocolate cake so I dipped a few bites. I also saw they had Bavarian cream churros and since I've never had churros before, I wanted to try those as well. I'm not sure how churros are supposed to be but I was thinking they would be a little soft since they had filling but they weren't. They were on the crunchy side and I that kinda made it hard to taste the cream in the middle. They were good but like I said, not sure if that's how they're supposed to be. Food-wise, we shared the chicken empanadas, yuca fritas, and crispy Caribbean wings. Every bite was a win.
