    Chocolate pistachio dessert

Fantastic! Nice ambience with comfortable music. Service staff was knowledgeable and very pleasant. Food was absolutely fantastic. Ceviche was delicious, I got the old Indian. Wife got the paella. And we shared a chocolate torque pistachio thing that was amazing! Only thing disappointing honestly was the flan was a little too firm.

First time in this gorgeous spot in my hometown! It's right downtown in the grove arcade area. The food is smashing, mimosas yumtastic, and our waitress was so sweet and attentive! We have definitely found our new brunch spot and I'm looking forward to see what dinner is like!

    Crab benedict $12

Chorizo has recently updated its menu. We just ate their for brunch. They open at 9 a.m. They have an amazingly delicious $12 menu, which includes a fruit salad with those items. I had the crab benedict, which also included avocado on the side. Service was impeccable. The remodeling is colorful and sophisticated. Best brunch in town.

I had a really great meal here. Nice fish dishes. Margaritas are...ok. Not real strong mexico margs. Food is really good though and its and option for us. I like Limones better by far, but this is a bit cheaper and more kid friendly. The other yelpers are right. A very bright and nice space to dine in also. Very filling portions too.

Paisa Columbiana (front) & the Coconut Lamb (back)

We just happened by this place while waiting for our appointment at Wake around the corner. My daughter spotted the words "Chorizo" and knew she had found her slice of heaven. For "brunch" we had the Paisa Columbiana and the Coconut Lamb. So many wonderful flavors packed in such a beautiful presentation. My daughter was a little disappointed the Chorizo here was not spicy, but she loved it all the same. I seriously cannot wait to go back next time I am in town.

We love this place!! Great margaritas. Great flavorful food. Great outdoor seating. We have visited Chorizo on at least three occasions over the years and it's one of our favorite places to eat in Asheville. It's always consistently wonderful.

Very friendly service. Good conversation with Erika, our waitress. Food was well presented, delicious-looking, delicious-tasting, and awesome food! Great atmosphere to have dinner or brunch and kick back a bit. I had the Mexican Coffee, a first. Highly recommended! The food was a balance of being well portioned as well as complementary that enhanced the flavor and culinary experience. Just watching it, I knew what to expect. After action review substantiated that expectation. If you want to enhance your experience, ask for Erika! Very attentive, gave good, sound advice that informed the decision making process. Many thanks Erika!

Vibes were weird. Food was not good. The name of the restaurant was misleading, as I assumed it would be Mexican food.

I was grateful to be able to get a seat at the bar, with a less than 10 minute wait. It is honestly worth it! The staff was warm and welcoming, even with tending to loads of customers (this is a true skill and art). The ambiance is upbeat and lively! Imagine a roadside breakfast parlor. I sat at the bar and it was good vibes! The hostess used to live in my hometown (who woulda thunk it) & I met the coolest guy from Boston, who has a golden doodle named Nugget back home. Good vibes all the way, which added to a special experience. He was flying back home after his meal. Now, onto the food (the part you all have been patiently waiting for). I ordered a hibiscus tea as my beverage (warm and refreshing). I also ordered the carrot cake hotcakes, a side of bacon, and a side of home fries. The carrot hotcakes were luscious! They came with hazelnut butter, and amazing syrup!!! These hotcakes were savory and filling! The bacon had an essence of hickory! A perfect medley between crispy and tender! The home fries were seasoned nicely and I doused them with ketchup and hot sauce! This was an iconic and memorable restaurant experience for me! This is coming from someone who has dined in restaurants around the world! Cheers!

It has a local breakfast joint diner vibe that is super cozy. It can get packed, but not in a bad way. My best friend got the breakfast burrito, she loved it and had leftovers because it was huge. I got the our favorite breakfast sandwich and also loved my pick. The side potatoes were really yummy too. I highly recommend this iconic brunch spot.

It was elevated Southern cuisine, and we enjoyed it enough that we may go back before leaving the area. The restaurant has a comfortable feel -- upscale, but not stuffy. The service was excellent. The servers were personable and attentive without hovering. At one point, I accidentally dropped my napkin, and our server immediately brought me another one. Our water glasses were continually refilled, and our server checked in regularly to make sure we had everything we needed. My partner and I liked so many things on the menu that we knew ordering soup, salad, an appetizer, and entrées would be too much. We told our server we were sharing, and for most of the courses, they divided the portions and brought them out on separate plates. That was another small touch that showed they were paying attention to detail. There wasn't anything we had that we wouldn't order again. We started with the seasonal soup, which was a tomato bisque, followed by the strawberry and feta salad. The country ham board was excellent and actually had me looking for Lusty Monk mustard the next day. For our main entrée, we shared the shrimp and grits, which was also delicious. Great food, thoughtful service, and a comfortable upscale atmosphere. This was the best meals we had in the area.

Delicious, but make sure you love ginger before ordering!

First, a logistics tip for anyone else visiting: give yourself plenty of extra time to find parking, as it takes a while to hunt down a spot down here. Also, double-check that you are making your reservation for the right location! There are a couple in the area and it can get confusing quickly. As for the food, my meal was quite good. I ordered the fried chicken with green beans and grits, and everything on my plate was delicious. However, my husband's meal was a bit of a letdown. He had the chicken and waffles--he felt his chicken was on the overcooked side, and the waffle itself had the texture of pancakes rather than being crisp. Service was also a bit slow during our visit. The most frustrating part was noticing that our food came out after a table of four that had actually been seated after we were. It was worth a try while we were in town, but given the service pacing and the hiccups with my husband's food, I don't think we'd head back on a return trip.
