    Sashimi and sushi platter

We sat at the sushi bar. We ordered entirely too much food, but everything was really good and the fish was fresh. The presentation was on point. The restaurant was bustling on a Saturday night. I've been told their ramen is great. I will be back to try it.

The food here is fantastic and if there are people in your party that don't care for sushi there are plenty of other options. Our server was great and flawlessly kept up with our party of 9. My sushi was wrapped in cucumber, which is my favorite and they don't do it everywhere. I also had an order of pot stickers that were tasty. My single roll and app were enough to satisfy me. Everyone was very happy with their food from hibachi to Bao to sushi! The espresso martinis didn't get a glowing review and all our food came out at different times over at least 10 minutes so it left many of us waiting for the birthday boy to get his food before we would dive in... at least with sushi I wasn't concerned about it getting cold.

My family came here for dinner and really enjoyed it. We started with the pork belly buns, which were very delicious. My son had the hibachi steak and enjoyed his meal. I had their sushi and it was fresh and delicious. My husband enjoyed his sashimi which was served in a cool box. The service was very good and the interior Was nice. It felt like a place locals enjoyed a lot.

There is suddenly no shortage of sushi/ramen joints in Asheville, which for a sushi/ramen lover isn't a bad thing (though I'd really love to see just one great pho place...I digress). The wife and I stopped in to try this new addition to the scene and left impressed. The space is a good size with quite a few tables and a good number of sushi bar seats. I wouldn't say there is anything remarkable about the setting or decor, but on a busy Saturday evening the vibe was relaxed and comfortable. The menu is extensive, including a nice sake list, copious sushi/sashimi options, and some interesting tapas and mains. If you can't find something that interests you, that's totally on you. If you have troubles making decisions, maybe bring a menu buddy to help you make the final call. It is not an inexpensive menu, so be prepared to spend a few bucks. The portions are generous, so there is balance. The sushi roll we had was well made, perfectly presented, and delicious. The yakisoba stir-fry was quite tasty, a nice depth of flavor. If you dig on octopus, the tako carpaccio was excellent (that citrus yuzu...). The spring rolls and miso were exactly as they should be. The service was friendly and accurate, even if a little slow at times due to the Saturday evening rush. We weren't in a hurry, so no big. The food came out quickly and accurately. If you love sushi or ramen or stir fry or sake - stop in and check out this new spot.

The service was attentive and friendly. The decor has a beautiful Japanese aesthetic, creating a relaxing and inviting ambiance that's perfect for both casual and special occasions. The sushi was solid, with decent quality and good portion sizes. I really enjoyed the stir-fried udon. The noodles were perfectly cooked and the balance of meat, vegetables, and noodles was spot on -- it was absolutely delicious and packed with flavor.

Our second time here! Wonderful fresh food, great service and a fun atmosphere. The sashimi spoons are one of our favorites!!

Panang Curry Ramen With Rare Pepper Steak.

Service was excellent. Everything we tried was delicious. The crispy brussel sprouts, pork gyozo, and egg rolls were great appetizers. We tried the Patton sushi roll, which was quite good, as well as the steak lo mein. The highlight of the experience was the panang curry ramen with rare pepper steak. So flavorful! Our entire party enjoyed their meals and experience here.

Me and my husband decided to try this place while visiting Asheville. We did feel very welcome in this establishment. We ordered Pork Gyozas they were absolutely delicious. With it being cold outside we both decided to order ramen different types. Based off of our bowls and the contents of the bowls it was hard to distinguish which was which. When I see ramen at other restaurants I typically order Shoyu, there were some good ingredients within the bowl but the thing that we both agreed on was that the corn used in both bowls came from a can it had a metallic taste to it. We both came to the conclusion that the corn and the bok choy were the most out of place based off of how it was cooked. We also agreed that for the price of each bowls that we were pretty underwhelmed with the quality of the ramen. I will say that the atmosphere for the restaurant was beautiful, beautiful art pieces and well-lit. My thing about restaurants is that when there is an overwhelming amount of items on the menu I tend to get concerned about the quality of individual plates. I will say the presentation of the food was beautiful. Our server was very sweet and friendly. I just feel that what we got should be improved upon.

Like many cafés in Asheville, it's a self-bussing establishment, so guests return their own dishes after eating. The cafe is charming, with plenty of both indoor and outdoor seating. The staff were warm, welcoming, and food was very good. We ordered drinks which was okay...next time I'll opt for water. Luckily, the Buddha Bowl and the breakfast sandwich served on a perfectly baked biscuit, and both were fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. I even bought their after-meal herbal tonic a try--not sure if it worked, but like to try it to give my stomach more energy and room to eat!!!

I figured I'd have to get there right when they opened to beat the crowd. Then I hit snooze about a thousand times and stumbled in a few hours later. Somehow there were only three people in line. While the cashier at the counter cut me off after I ordered two items, telling me I was "going too fast"... I thought she was about to ruin my morning. Turns out she was an angel, guiding me to the light. She recommended The Standard, which I assumed was just a basic-ass breakfast sandwich, then told me to get it on the biscuit instead of the bread/roll/bun/whatever. That flaky, buttery, soft biscuit made me feel like I was in heaven. And don't forget the herb mayo--the cherry on top of one of the best milkshakes... I mean sandwiches... I've ever had. The lavender, fairy-dust, moon-water, up-your-ass spritzer seasonal special or whatever the hell it was... also delicious. Such an amazing way to start my day that when I told my friends about it, they immediately wanted to go for lunch. I RARELY, IF EVER, EAT AT THE SAME RESTAURANT TWICE IN ONE DAY. By lunchtime I felt like I should've been getting employee discounts. Hell, it was so damn hot in Asheville I bought one of their tank tops after breakfast... then came back wearing it for lunch like I'd worked there for years. I'll spare you the details of everything we ordered, but let me tell you this: not a single complaint. And that's saying something with the group of professional complainers I seem to have surrounded myself with. If you're reading this, lady at the counter--you were right. I hope you're out there telling other lost souls they're going too fast... and to get the biscuit. Asheville might've gotten the Michelin recognition, but you deserve a star too. Verdict: I'd eat here twice in one day again

Everything we had (we shared several dishes) was absolutely delicious!!! We started with the cheese board, and added the special broccolini of the evening. The ravioli and the piccata were amazing (yes, we ate too much, but brought some home ). For a Wednesday night, the place was very busy, so it's obvious Asheville appreciates and understands good food. Every dish was a masterpiece, bold and elegant, comforting and exciting all at once. This is vegan food that doesn't whisper or apologize--it commands the room. The flavors were layered, intentional, and downright magical. Each plate arrived like a work of art, and somehow tasted even better than it looked. I kept thinking, there is no way the next dish can top this--and yet, it always did. Plant proves, without question, that vegan cuisine can be indulgent, luxurious, and unforgettable. And then... the dessert. I am not exaggerating when I say it deserves its own standing ovation. Rich, decadent, perfectly balanced--one bite and time stopped. If happiness had a flavor, this would be it. I would return to Plant for dessert alone, without a second thought. Plant is hands-down the best vegan restaurant in Asheville. Our evening started with complimentary champagne....booked in advance and told the staff we were in town celebrating and they took great care of us. We skipped the apps, but were impressed that they offer smaller plates, along with their entrees. My wife ordered the 4 Oz filet, which was so tender that it didn't require a steak knife to cut it. Her butter knife was sufficient enough. Honestly, her fork would've been enough. You can tell they have good beef quality....the filet was very tasty. Was served with a sauce and whipped potatoes, along with fresh green beans. I ordered their scallops and polenta dish. Honestly, I think the garnish was a bit over the top.....however, their scallops were delicious and tender. I normally like a good sear but can appreciate how they prepared theirs. The seasoning was flavorful and their sauce with the garnish went well with it. The only mark I can make had to do with the polenta. It was quite tasty, but the consistency didn't match the description of the dish. Regardless, it paired very well with the scallops. Ended the night with complimentary dessert, which was their blackberry peach crumble with ice cream, which was delicious. One of the best desserts we've had in some time. Our waiter James was fantastic. He was great in describing dishes, and was timely with the service and making sure our drinks were taken care of. The manager on duty, Brooke, was wonderful as well and even extended well wishes on our celebration. All in all, their staff did a great job. You can also tell that the other tables got similar service as well. We had all intentions on coming back and checking out their brunch, which was highly recommended, but ended up doing something else the following day. This is a solid option for date night dining. Very intimate setting downtown. Parking is ridiculous to try and get close by, especially on a Friday night, but theres a parking deck under a mile away from the front door. This is another Asheville spot we'll have in the rotation. Very impressed and can't wait to try other options there in the future.

Fried bean paste is always a winner (technically lentils are not beans). The fritters were savory and the clash between their freshly fried texture and the cool dill-flavored dipping sauce and mixed pickled vegetables was quite robust.
