We also had a few other areas addressed but these were the major changes. Tom, the owner of Albrecht and Son, came out and sketched our a plan for each room. The remodel was a long and tedious process but we made it through. I was impressed with most of the workers (the superintendent needs a vacation) and the completed work was very, very nice... except the counter tops in the kitchen. Lee's Tapps Counter Tops, LLC installed the granite. Our selection came from the showroom at Albrecht's but the actual rock came from Tapps. They installed it and then they left. For weeks afterwards, no matter how many times I cleaned it, there was a gritty feeling on it, morning, noon or night. I reported this but Tapps never offered to replace it. Instead they simply implied that it was either dirty or it was my imagination. Eventually, I stopped talking about it. When the entire remodel was done, and everyone was paid, Tom asked me if I was happy. He really wanted me to be happy. You have to love that guy. I told him that every time I ran my hand over the granite, I cried. He then set me up with a different company and let us select the slabs of our choice. I know he lost money on this deal but I have to give him credit. He is a true professional and I recommend his company without reservation. I would have given them 5 stars but the superintendent's attitude and the cabinet makers lack of concern about the "little things" deserve the loss of at least one star. Trust me, if you are honest and up front with Tom, he will take care of you. I've posted a few pictures of the end results. Had a great experience with One Stop Tile Shop. All the employees are friendly are accommodating…read more They have a nice selection of solid flooring, backsplashes and more. Ordering was flawless. Returning unused unopened material was easy peasy. Andy even researched information on the tile we picked out and made sure we got it right away from thr same lot as the sample we had fallen in love with. They are not the least expensive, but they are competitive and they quoted us the same price as we received from another company without knowthing their price. The do charge freight. Thr big box stores/home improvement stores don't. I still went with One Stop to guarantee getting the tile from the lot we liked and to support local businesses. They had been so good to us for over a year. We ordered off of the measurements my husband gave along with the company who installed our flooring. Plus a cushion. Note needed materials can change for many reason different reasons. We had travertine downstairs so when installing in our family room they needed to use an extra thick layer of thinset to raise it up higher which was an added cost later. Things are unforseen sometimes. My husband works with flooring contractors and understands this. We also wanted to be able to go upstairs where our bedrooms were so we upgraded some of the thinset to rapid set. That way we could walk on it a couple of hours after install rather than the following morning. They do not install flooring as they are not licensed. They do offer business cards to you of companies they know. I highly recommend you use your own. Research reviews, or go with a recommendation from someone you know. Some helpful advice having flooring installed. Double check the tile and make sure that it is what you ordered. Not home? Use your cell phone and photos! Make sure it is being installed properly. Not home? Ask for a photo of a small dry layout or once they are starting a photo of the first few feet. Wrap electronics in plastic. Cover furniture. Flooring contractors don't do this. We would all love for it to be a perfect world, but unfortunately the trade world is far from it and you need to keep up with what is going on. Even long distance. Make sure you have a cushion of funds for thr unforseen in case something comes up. If One Stop doesn't have a tile you like give them thr information and more than likely they can get it for you!

Their guys showed up on time. They were courteous. They were respectful of us, and respectful of our home. They asked for our input when they got to a part that required some judgement. They performed mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and drywall work. All done nearly to perfection. And they passed the acid test; after they left, I noticed two small things which I thought could have done better. They returned immediately and made these right. And they sent an invoice almost a week later (giving us an opportunity to discover any other issues, which we did NOT), and the invoice was for the exact amount of the estimate. They accepted my credit card payment over the phone. Our job was a small one, but they have definitely encouraged us to contact them again for our next job - small or large. We have used singletary plumbing twice now for our sun city home. The first time was for a corroded…read moredrain pipe on the kitchen sink. The water was coming up under the tiles. Once we removed the cabinet base, Jared was able to fix and replace the pipe.  The second time they came out, was because sewage was coming up in the shower and bathroom sinks. I called them on a Sunday night and jared was able to come out on Monday. He checked out the issue using a camera and was able to clear the impacted pipe and resolve the problem quickly. It was such a relief. Jared is awesome. He is very professional and efficient. Singletary is also reasonably priced and you don't feel like they are taking advantage.  It's great to have a plumbing company you can trust and also recommend to people.
