A month ago, I wanted to purchase a new Ford Explorer. I was prequalified through my bank based on dealer prices listed online. I met a great saleswoman and even spoke to a former colleague I hadn't seen in a few years. I was prepared to sign and drive. When they showed me the new cars, however, the sticker price had been bumped up $4k to $6k each. I didn't understand why the dealer listed price out there online wasn't the same price at the dealership. (of course I know why but it's unethical.) I left and bought a two year old Explorer Limited elsewhere for $15k less than the new base models. I love it! I was told the Explorer I purchased had a recall, so I thought no problem, I'll take it to Palmetto because it's close to my house. I set the appointment over three weeks ago. Palmetto confirmed it via email. NOBODY CALLED TO SAY THE RECALL COULD TAKE A WEEK TO FIX AND I'D NEED TO ARRANGE OTHER TRANSPORTATION. I run a local business and I'd definitely call a customer to clarify before they take time out of their busy schedule to show up to the appointment only to be told this. They were finally able to get a live person on the phone and well Tonya was as a real peach - hard no. No way would I consider using this dealership based on the lack of service and rudeness of the staff. Unreal! Dropped my 2023 Ford F-150 off for a schedule appt. at 10 AM 6/30/26 for a warranty issue, a tire rotation and oil change. On 7/1/26 I received a text message that they were going to be closed 7/3-6/26. I called to see if they could check the warranty issue and have it ready for pickup by 2PM 7/2/26. The service advisor said they would not be able to address the warranty issue by then. I told them just to do the oil change and tire rotation. They indicated they would. Trying to help a friend who purchased a Lincoln several months ago. She is trying to get a second set of keys and the back cover. The sales persons has made promises but not delivered. She had tried to contact the Sales Manager but he does not return calls. I have tried calling and it is the same. Well for starters....... 7 weeks to do some simple repairs to me having to rent a car throughout this ordeal. Then the excuses as to why it sat for 6 weeks and nothing was ever done to it. The communication at that dealership is beyond piss poor. Nobody ever reaches out to tell you what is going on. Then in the mean time while my 2023 Ford F250 is sitting there collecting dust on the lot not doing anything I am stuck in a rental car at 80 bucks a day. Now 80 bucks a day not including gas for 7 weeks do the math on that and that is not including the taxes. To find a live person to answer the phone is like winning the power ball. If anyone calls you back with useful information you hit power ball twice and good for you. I have worked for Ford dealerships and this is the first and very last experience I will ever write about for this place. Let met tell you guys this. I do have a f250 diesel. So yeah one guy working on all the diesels they have coming for service. For a "major" dealership this is not a way to conduct business. Plus when I was told to leave the vehicle I am thinking one to four weeks not a month plus to do a few simple things. So now the games begins when to add insult to injury now that I paid the bill and I was supposed to be reimbursed for the rental car..... yup I get ghosted. It was a terrible experience, called to verify my car was still under warranty for a 2023 Ford Escape. Gave Mark (the man assigned to my car) the vin number so he could check it, he stated yes it was. Scheduled for 12 days later to repair drivers side rear window. Told 2 days after they had my vehicle it was not under warranty ( called on the 15th expired on the 13th, couldn't get service til the 27th). And that the repair required a window regulator. repair would cost 990.00!! Service Manager John called Ford Motor for a good will reduction due to it being so close to expiration date and low mileage 34000. Said I have not bought enough new Fords to get a discount. So waited 12 days because I was told it was under warranty to be told it wasn't under warranty and that repair cost was double the cost elsewhere. I Ordered an OEM part which was 137.00 . Gerald's price was 300.00 for labor. My son is installing. Also spoke with a Tonia who was very rude. I then left a message to service department requesting a loaner, that call was on the 15th, service manager said I was on his call back list, this was 12 days after request and never received a call. Take your car elsewhere besides being overly priced, they don't know the meaning of "customer service" and give inaccurate information. read more

My Ford Maverick had a recall for a passenger airbag light possibly being defective. Scheduled an appointment for the recall, and a 2,500 mile oil change before a road trip. 2+ Hour wait!!! I could understand a lengthy wait for a walk in, but not a scheduled appointment. To make matters WORSE I was charged $167 for the oil change. I asked for an "oil change", not a tire rotation, filter change etc. The truck has 2,500 miles on it. Why would I need anything more than a "Basic" oil change? That should have been communicated upon scheduling the appointment, or at least before doing an expensive, unnecessary service.. I would have gone to a drive through oil change, and waited on the recall. Taking the truck, and then informing of a a lengthy wait, and an expensive, unnecessary service is Messed Up. I want to express my deep disappointment with today's experience. I went to oil change with an appointment scheduled. The agent did not listen to what I explained first, instead, he acted on what he thought he had understood. Because of this, I was left waiting unnecessarily, and then received my car back without the return sticker being replaced. This is very frustrating and unacceptable. Awful. I have family in Charleston and visit often. As a military family with my husband currently away I wanted to set up service for my car while in town MONTHS early. I did just that and they were accommodating and wonderful in setting up. I dropped the car before business hours on day of service and waited to hear back. This was on a Monday. I heard back that day and was told it would take $200 to look at the car and confirm the issue I scheduled months in advance that I was pretty sure warranty would cover. I was then told the guy who works on roofs and that area of the car wouldn't be in until Friday. Why are we scheduling cars, services, etc without having the labor to do so? Kevin gave me pictures and videos of their 2018 dodge ram 2500 and made it look great and talked a good story. went through a third party inspector and opened up a can of worms. they sprayed the side steps on the truck on the vehicle with spray paint and over-sprayed on the truck, the truck was plugged into the computer and found they were trying to delete codes to mislead people but also found rust everywhere on the truck including inside of the cab!the truck clearly had flooding damage and didn't disclose. stay far away from this dealership!! read more

After making you wait weeks on weeks for service, are you bringing your car and they tell you they couldn't replicate the issue. It's a scam to try and waste your time to hope that you won't bring it in for service. All they do here is oil changes and may be a tire rotation. I've been to the service department at Palmetto Ford multiple times now to get an issue resolved and each time they either can't replicate the issue when they do they "resolve it" but it is not resolved. This is my first Ford vehicle and I was excited when the Bronco came out, it's just a pain in the ass for the past two years to try and get anything done. There is no way to make an appointment at the dealership online system will schedule you out about a month or more, if you call miraculously the person on the phone can get you in a week or two earlier, And don't even think about wasting your time trying to come and visit the service department because there's no check-in spot there's no desk there's no one to ask questions to. You're just left there standing with no one that will even make eye contact with you. They're all staring at the ground, hoping that you don't talk to them. The ultimate goal for service departments at dealerships is to ride you out until the end of your warranty, Because once you're warranty is expired, they will be glad to charge you $1000 $1500 $2000 for something that could've been covered under warranty that they couldn't duplicate previously. I drive a 2020 ford escape hybrid. The power steering is completely electric. Somehow in my barely 5 year old vehicle, my power steering crapped out on itself. Ford being so lovely decided they would pay a QUARTER of the cost of the repair. Total I was quoted $3,300. I still ended up paying $2000 after ford was so generous as to "help" me out. Absolutely unbelievable. The parts are only available to ford dealerships, and the software is the same way as well. I have always used this dealership and will never return. And after I am able to get out of this vehicle I will never drive a ford again. Absolutely ridiculous. There is no way in hell I should have to pay ANYTHING to fix a power steering issues in my BARELY 5 year old vehicles. The man who handled my situation, Bob was absolutely demeaning the entire time. Very UN pleasant, constantly man splaining things to me... just talking to me as if I am stuck and I have no knowledge of what's to be done. When my car was originally dropped off at the dealership (BECAUSE IT WAS NOT DRIVEABLE) I called and asked if palmetto ford had a preferred tow company they use, a young lady gave me a company and I did use them. 2 days after my vehicle was dropped off I get a call from the lovely bob mentioned above asking me, WHERE MY CAR IS, WHERE THE FOB IS, ETC..... I'm immediately panicked. I tell bob I used the tow company THEY recommended and he responds with "I have never heard of this company and I do not believe we have a preferred towing company." I'm like ok awesome. So I'm at working panicking, he then tells me I need to call the tow company to find out what the driver did with the key. Do that, call them back to let them know THE DRIVER HANDED THE FOB TO AN EMPLOYEE DIRECTLY. I mean is this how these people do business? The whole entire situation was absolutely horrible and I am COMPLETELY DISSATISFIED. I feel ripped off, I feel mocked because of my gender, I feel exploited for having to pay TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS to make my BARELY 5 YEAR OLD CAR DRIVABLE. Unfortunately, I was a young guy with bad credit who believed that this person was trying to help me. I see the commercials today and this experience comes back to my mind and I remember his being very specific about entering $0 as the down payment on the credit application. This review is for the Ford Service department on Savannah Highway! We love our Ford vehicles, we love our Ford sales people, but the Service department is by far the worst service of any dealership we have dealt with in all of our years of having different vehicles. They had our vehicle for four days said it was complete went to pick it up and the oil filter for the oil change was still sitting in the vehicle. Nothing had been done. The sad part is we paid thinking it was done and only saw the oil filter when we were getting ready to drive off. This is unacceptable service for any dealership! Ford needs to take a lesson from Lexus and or Mini across the street! There service is impeccable. While the majority of this review applies strictly to palmetto ford. It seems most dealerships I visited are very similar in nature. Firstly, be prepare to be surrounded like a vulture before you even exit your vehicle. The salespeople stand outside waiting before you even park to try and reel you in. It's quite frankly very off putting. I was selling my vehicle to them and the whole deal was very sketchy. I told them I needed my vehicle for another week before actually selling it, and they had a bunch of forms they had me sign. That's it, just had me sign them. Nothing filled out, just asked me to sign and they would fill out later. Is that not shady or what? When I brought the vehicle back to actually sell it to them, not only did it take nearly 3 hours... yes 3 hours to sell a vehicle. What was odd, they had me sign more forms, that yet again weren't filled out. They stated that the people the inventory the cars and give them a stock number weren't there. So because of that, they couldn't fill out the forms. I begrudgingly signed hoping it would end well. While it did eventually end well, it took nearly 2 weeks to get the "forms" emailed to me that should've been filled out and sent to me later that afternoon. They really lowball you and take advantage of the buyer. I sold my vehicle to them for less than $31,000, mins you they paid ford credit much less than that. Now they have the vehicle listed for sale for nearly $39,000. I'm sure they won't get that, but how much profit do you need to make on a customer? I won't be going back to this dealership again. From the vulture esque welcoming, to the shady paperwork handling, and the low ball offering price, this is why they are getting a single star. I had an issue with my 700 mile new ford F150 that was only a handful of weeks old and I received terrible service. First, they were unable to get my vehicle into the service department for three weeks, and when they did bring it in for my appointment, they did not look at the vehicle for an additional four days. They diagnosed the vehicle and came back and told me the repair would not be covered under factory warranty. I called Ford corporate and even they were astonished the dealer wouldn't contact them to put the claim through under factory warranty. I had to go to a different Ford dealer locally, where they were happy to repair the vehicle under factory warranty. I believe the reason why they didn't cover it at Palmetto was due to them being lazy and not looking to go any additional steps to take care of their customers. I will not go back. read more

This is a review of the service department for Palmetto Ford in West Ashley. I should have been suspicious when I attempted to call the Service department to set up an appointment. Instead of reaching a person, it went to voicemail. Not that big a deal, but after leaving a number and the reason for my call, no one ever attempted to call me back. Instead, I went online and scheduled the appointment. The car was dropped off and I was told it would be ready on a Tuesday. Tuesday came, and when I attempted to call, the Service department's voicemail was full. I used the chat feature and was assured someone would get back to me. That never happened. I finally drove and spoke to someone at Ford. No work had been started on the vehicle and there was no expected date of completion. Every attempt afterwards to find out a status update, or even speak with a person, has failed. In fact, the last time I attempted it the voicemail was still full and the chat feature continues to tell me someone would be reaching out. That still hasn't happened. read more

We scheduled an appointment two weeks ago for our Lincoln today. We called last week three times for our service advisor Greg to call us regarding our appointment. Someone else answered one time and told us "I'll call back!"We never received a call back and today when we showed up he told us our repair would take a few days. We only have one car and needed it back today. That's why we not only call him but included this information in or service request. When I scheduled my Lincoln aviators factory recall I showed up and was told to wait for my loaner car (had to schedule that months out) . After twenty minutes or so I was told by the service manager that they would not service my car as I had not given them a positive review on any of the surveys they sent me. To be clear I cannot get service from the only Lincoln dealership in Charleston. The car is fine but dealing with Palmetto sales and service is horrible. Should not have left Infiniti. When I talked to Lincoln concierge in Chicago they apologized but Palmetto is an independent franchise and can do what they want. They were horrified I was refused a factory recall and said they had numerous complaints about Palmetto. For the record I rarely post any review, you have to be horrible for me to bother. read more

Terrible Customer Service! I called on a Friday morning (June 16) to see if I could come by for a quick computer diagnosis because an engine light was coming on my 2010 F-150. They told me no and that there was not an open appt. until June 28. I was considering buying a new truck from them and after this experience, I told the service woman I would never come back in the door. Her answer was "NO Problem." This is the second time in less than 3 months that no one even paid any attention to my needs at that dealership. What a joke. Went in to have my 2023 F150 serviced for the first time. "The Works" is suppose to check and fill fluids. The paper I signed when they returned my vehicle said they did this. They did not fill the washer fluid as indicated by their technician. This type service only breeds mistrust and makes the customer leery of returning for the next service schedule. This is not the first time I have had issues with Palmetto Ford's service department. I suggest going to another Ford Dealership for service. This dealership cannot be trusted to perform the work they claim they performed.
