Basically we had a pleasant experience. The only disappointment came when after the bill was paid, Tracy informed us that the customary tip was 20% (we gave a little less in cash). Tipping is completely voluntary and she was unprofessional in passing that remark. An absolutely amazing experience. I have received many massages but this was my first deep tissue massage. Yo-Yo did an incredible job. My neck is very swollen, I have been in an excruciating amount of pain since the massage because when I asked for lighter, I was told that lighter pressure wouldn't work. I've never had a shiatsu massage before and I absolutely loved it. My therapist was Ana and she is a small but mighty powerhouse ! I could tell she was very experienced because she was careful and skilled. It's a lot of spinal work so it can be dangerous if not done properly. The facility is clean and bright. Honestly, the most unprofessional place i have ever been to. I booked a massage with Tracy for 230pm; i arrive at 215pm and no one is at the desk; I find the new client paperwork and just fill it out, waiting to see if anyone is there. 25 minutes later some woman comes out and takes me back to the room; I ask if she was Tracy and she said "no Tracy will be with you soon; I can start." She then says Tracy is not here but she will call her and leaves me just waiting in the room; it's now 250 and no one has been with me. I'm so angry and frustrated as i am just sitting waiting with no acknowledgement that I am here waiting. The lady finally comes into the room stating she will do my massage; i told her i had to leave at 330 to pick up my kids from school, hence why i booked a 230 one hour massage. We stopped at 338; she said "i will give you extra time next time." I def won't be coming back; when I went to pay for my 45 minute massage, i thought perhaps they would discount the service just a tad, nope. They charged me for a full hour and then she was rude and rolled her eyes at me when I left her a $10 tip; i thought that was even generous for the service I got. Don't get fooled by its great location. As soon as you get in, the ambiance is ordinary, even not up to the standards. I signed up for a 90 minute session as I was really in need of a massage after running long distance yesterday. Here are my complaints: 1.) The massage therapist used only effleurage all through her hands-on time with me not until I called her attention to use other techniques as my muscles were overly rubbed from the effleurage stroke and it's painful. Even then, there was no skill at all. Doesn't know any other techniques and her nail was brushing on my skin but I just didn't tell her because I think she was already feeling awkward after I called her out. 2.) She hurriedly massaged my arms and feet and when I asked her why she did not do it thoroughly she said that she is out of time. 3.) When she massaged my feet, she did both of my them together. Her right hand on my right foot & her left hand on my left foot, simultaneously! I called her attention but didn't even heared me as she was in a hurry. 4.) When she massaged my neck, I shouted several times that she is pressing my jugular vein but she still kept on doing it. That was the breaking point and I said, I am walking-out! This is supposed to be a 90 minute massage that I need so bad but was given a very poor service by this Spa.The front desk Tracy not sure if she is the owner/manager immediately came to the room and apologized. Gave me 50% discount which I still ended up paying $55 for a lousy job. She(Tracy) wants me to come back tomorrow and try her skills for it will be a different experience, she said. I am traumatized today from this experience. I am not sure if I can come back. I told Tracy that I am not going to write a review but After much thought, the right thing to do is to write one to warn the rest of the consumers of what's out there so they can appropriately decide which businesses to support. Horrible. I booked a 90 min Thai massage in anticipation of being sore after a red eye flight. The masseuse, Annie, actually had NO idea of what she was doing. It quickly became abundantly clear that Annie was definitely NOT trained in Thai massage or versed in ANY type of massage for that matter. Annie is likely not a trained bodyworker or masseuse and I'm uncertain why she is giving massages and why Palmetto Spa books her and allows her pretend? She had zero game and after a few minutes when I began to question the lameness of the massage she nipped that we could only do 60 minutes. After a few more minutes, and after she tried walking on my back with her full weight, which hurt as she had no idea how to distribute her weight she said she wasn't going to work on me and walked out of the room. Truthfully, I was ready about ready to call it anyway. The woman whom I had texted with (Emily) played dumb and said the owner would call which, not shockingly never happened. I haven't had a massage since the start of Covid, working constantly in the hospital I haven't had time, I've had issues with my left shoulder from my work and I read reviews on here about Tracey.. She was amazing! I'm a heavier set person so there is a lot of tissue to work through and this young lady did amazing!! She was so kind and truly made me feel comfortable. I booked a massage online same day for a time that worked for me. Almost immediately I received a poorly worded text asking if I could come in an hour earlier. I reluctantly agreed despite it not being as convenient for me. The massage itself was the worst I ever received in some 20+ years of having massages on a fairly routine basis. There was no discussion (before or during the treatment) regarding my present condition or any problem areas, the pressure and use of elbow was painful despite my preference for strong deep tissue massage as the placement of the pressure was indicative of someone without any meaningful training, and the etiquette of the massage (by which I mean appropriate sensitivity to private parts of the anatomy) was terribly lacking. The overall experience was good. It meant a lot to get a quick appointment. The negatives:there were a couple long hairs on my sheet which made me question the cleanliness, the therapist was lovely but the 90 minute massage was mostly on the stomach. (I am used to a massage being done face down and face up.) There was no communication about my preferences, trouble areas, etc. Also when a customer turns on their back, having a warm mask to place over their eyes makes them feel less exposed. The masseuse was rude and ungrateful for not receiving the tip she wanted. She told me and my Fiancé she rather us not come back if we are not going to give a $40 tip. That is a disgusting way to respond to customers in a place of business. She also snatched my receipt out of my hand and was very disrespectful.
