The first time I arrived in Cabo there were only a handful of courses to play. Now it is arguably the golf capital of the world. The original Big 3 were Palmilla and Cabo del Sol - both Jack Nicklaus designs. Then he added El Dorado which is now private. I am a golf nut and have been coming to Los Cabos at least once a year for more than 20 years - it's an addiction, you'll see. There is no other experience like the One & Only Palmilla and I recommend this course highly so after 18 you must head to the hotel for the best Margarita you'll ever have poolside. The cart girls will make them fresh for you on the course - fresh squeezed lime juice - in case you can't wait for the 19th hole. Layout is challenging but deceiving off the tee as there is more room for drives than it looks. My favorite route is the Mountain and Ocean 9's while the Arroyo is also fun (27 holes). The greens are always fast and good luck reading the breaks as you must pay attention to where the mountain is relative to the Pacific Ocean. I promise you will love Palmilla, one of the original gems of Los Cabos.

We heard nothing but raving reviews from our guests about the rooms and cleanliness of the entire resort. I already had family and friends asking when we can come back for our anniversaries lol. Now for our wedding: The planning through Casa Dorada's wedding coordinator, Katherine Anaya, was seamless and so easy. I can't express enough how amazing she was to handle everything for my husband and I since we are from California. The location of the resort is perfectly on the beach with nearby bars and restaurants. Yes you can hear the music from the bars but it stops at 9:30/10pm. Didn't hear any complaints from any of ours guests (ages 25-83). The wedding ceremony and reception was at the 12 Tribes Terrace and they really transformed the atmosphere to be exactly how I envisioned the wedding! If you're hesitant about doing a destination wedding in Cabo, I researched about 20 resorts and landed on Casa Dorada because of the value, location and how beautiful the resort looks. We are so happy with how our wedding came out and how amazing the staff is at this resort. We want to highlight our amazing wedding planner (through the resort) Katherine Anaya who handled everything for us and made sure the whole wedding experience was stress free and seamless for us. Her first impression through email with me truly made me feel her hospitality and kindness. Meeting her in person for our pre-wedding trip January 2026 just solidified that we have an amazing person helping create our wedding vision and bring it to life! She even went as far as having a custom wedding slideshow playing in our hotel room that had our pictures from our wedding website. The attention to detail Katherine gives is beyond what I could've ever imagined from anyone! Another person I want to mention was Rene at the 12 Tribes Restaurant. We met him during our pre-wedding trip and he handled everything with ease for our signature His/Her drinks and our food tasting samples. Right away his great hospitality and kind spirit could immediately be seen and felt. For our wedding in April 2026, Rene remembered us and gave nothing short of excellent service during our entire wedding week when we saw him or ate at the 12 Tribes restaurant. Rene was actually a server during our wedding and was making sure everything was going smoothly and made sure we felt at home. Two more people who are worth mentioning: Heriberto at the swim-up bar and Michele at the B Bar. Two awesome people who love what they do. They remembered us each time we came back to them. They remembered our drink orders and truly made us feel like family there. If you're thinking about a wedding at Casa Dorada, my advice to you is do it and you won't regret it. It truly felt like our home away from home. Muchas gracias Casa Dorada!!! We will definitely be back! This isn't goodbye, but see you soon!!

I spoke to him and told him he should be nicer. He was drunk and decided to hit on me, which is insane. I kept saying, no, you need to be nicer to your girlfriend. He kept pushing me. He decided he wouldn't take no for an answer after I told him I didn't want to be hit on or talk to him. He became increasingly aggressive. I tried to keep de-escalating. He told me that we WOULD get to know each other. He pushed his phone to me with his Instagram. It was full of pictures of naked women. I went to the host desk. I smiled, so I wouldn't upset him further. I kept smiling and told them I needed him to go away. He came up behind me. They called hotel security, who quickly came over. The man (Ryan) left with his bottle of wine. Security escorted me to my room. I saw him waving from the balcony of a room above mine, very near. I asked to be moved. I was frightened. They changed my room, but I did not sleep the entire night. The next morning, I spoke to the manager, Francisco Escuer. He told me: "I watched the tape, you were talking to the man and smiling. You smiled at the host stand. Why were you smiling if you were asking for help to get away from that guy?" I said, "Because he was coming after me, and that's what women do, so we don't aggravate men we know are dangerous." He said, "Well, his girlfriend didn't report anything." Again, I said: "Women don't report abusers because they are not believed, just like you are not believing me." Escuer also screamed at me and accused me of recording our conversation. He made physical gestures toward me during this. I told him I needed the tape, his information and the hotel's information. He refused to give me anything and yelled at me. I had to check out, pay for that stay, and another hotel. Escuer/the hotel are not safe for women.

We booked for the easy location and affordable price. Ocean view room, pool and bar onsite along with only a short walk to the beach? Check, check, and check. The daily breakfast was much better than the normal American Hyatt Place buffet. All dishes were actually fresh made (not frozen/dried/reconstituted). Loved the chilaquiles, fresh pineapple/cantaloupe/papaya, and the Spanish chorizo (linguica?). Our 1st few nights in the room seemed quite warm and we just figured we weren't use to the area. After the 3rd night we decided to ask for fans and to have the AC checked out. They quickly came up and determined the compressor failed. By that afternoon they had relocated us to a comparable room. At the end of our stay, the AGM Alan, comped our 3 nights due to the AC issue... which was above and beyond service! Exceeded expectations for sure. To top it off, we learned early in our stay, that they had complimentary beach chairs and an umbrella to be used for beach trips. We checked these items out, for free, on a handful of days to the beach. Saved us the money and hassle as well as kept us comfy while getting our daily beach time in. We're super loyal to Hyatt as a brand and it's situations like this that keep us a loyal globalist family.

The two most important factors in my decision to stay here were the pool and the breakfast buffet,…read moreand the Hyatt came through on both. There's a reason you'll see flight crews there every day. The pool is surrounded on three sides by buildings, with trees on the fourth side, so there are small windows for sunshine, but as long as you move around as the sun moves, you should be able to find sunshine. I love the padded lounge chairs. Right across the street is a path to take you about two blocks to the beautiful wide but unswimmable beach, which was almost deserted in early March. There's a nice lobby and a long patio with comfortable seating. Friendly bilingual staff. There's a 24 hour security guard. Flavored water late morning to early afternoon in the lobby. The room was comfortable and well made each day. My bath towel left on hook was still taken away to be laundered. The bathroom sink faucet is 1/2 inch from the edge of the sink, making it difficult to use. The buffet was great, but not fully set up until 45 minutes after opening most days. The menu changed frequently, with the Chilaquiles green chili casserole being my favorite. The OJ was basically flavored water compared to what I'm used to. The hotel can be loud. The windows appear to be singled paned, and busy Highway 1 is right next to the hotel, so you'll hear lots of traffic noise including unmuffled dump trucks. Every morning at 2 AM, an extremely, obnoxiously, exceptionally loud motorcycle went by and woke me up, even with earplugs and white noise running. The hotel is also right under the airport flight path, so about every 20 minutes a jet will roar overhead. The exercise room has a rack of free weights, four treadmills, two bikes, and an elliptical. They don't appear to do any recycling. Overall, I'd recommend it especially given the price point of about $110 plus $30/nt in fees.

There are 2 hotels - Grand Velas (family-oriented) and Grand Velas Boutique (adults only). We stayed in the Grand Velas since most of the restaurants are located in the main hotel. From the vacation experience agent, Leonila, to our guest experience agent Thamara, to our personal concierge, Tony, this journey was destined for success. We enjoyed working with each person, even prior to our arrival. The car service arranged through the hotel was smooth except for the outer-bands, post-hurricane sudden downpour at the airport. It's weather so what can you do about it? I understand such events are infrequent in Cabo, however. Both drivers were friendly and conversational. The resort is beautiful with curved walkways, 3 outdoor pools, with at least 1 outdoor large jacuzzi, and a tropical landscape. The infinity edge of the adult pool extended its view into the ocean! There is also a Teen Clubroom and a children's play area near the family pools. It is a well-staffed property with pleasant and polite team members at every level. If we happened to lose our way, the staff not only provided directions but took the time to walk with us to our destination!!! Tony, our personal concierge was in constant communication and our go-to for questions and support. He elevated our anniversary celebration by providing us with several personalized surprises! His contributions provided us with great memories! Delightful experience at every restaurant, especially the many fine dining establishments. (Individual restaurant reviews coming soon). The luxury spa (the water journey was very relaxing), a reserved photoshoot (beautiful and professional photos), and wonderful poolside service, including a frozen treat cart and in-pool (literally) cocktail service, were all worth the time. The resort offers a daily schedule of on-resort activities in addition to access to off-resort activities. Two tips: 1) I recommend boxing out a couple of hours for post -water journey relaxation to enjoy the benefits of this detoxing, muscle stimulating, de-stressing experience. 2) plan for 2 appointments for the photoshoot, first for the shoot, a second, to select your photos. I've seen reviews of other all-inclusive properties where guests say after 3 days, they tire of the food choices. You will not have that problem here. Depending on your activity schedule you could easily spend 5 days here and not get bored. Looking forward to returning here as it was at the top of the list for vacation experiences.

They also offered cooking classes, mixology, and wine tasting exclusively at the regular resort. What a getaway! We loved everything about Grand Velas except having to join some areas with kids such as restaurants. They should have an adult only session of each restaurant, and not exclusively for those at the boutique but for those on property who have their kids in kids' club and want to just enjoy one another at dinner. My idea would by like the smoking and non-smoking sections in a restaurant; sure you're not "protected" against kids but you have a greater chance of being separated from them. Besides all the amazing all-inclusive food, my favorite part of each restaurant were the views.

The farm is vast and beautiful with several experiences and buildings including vegetable stands, gifts, boutique shopping, ice cream cart, craft area, cooking classes etc. We were sat under the canopy area, just far enough from the live band to enjoy conversations but close enough to hear the music in the background. They were incredible by the way. All hits from various decades. There was also a nice Happy Anniversary sign waiting for us at the table. We had several staff members attending to our table and they were all excellent. Very friendly, kind. Very attentive and never left us waiting for service. We brought our own wine so there was a fairly steep corkage fee. Just keep That in mind if you want to bring your favorite wine. For the table we ordered the burrata which tasted so fresh and bright. Two at the table ordered the woodfired sea-bass which included cauliflower, capers, lemon and aioli. My husband and friend said it was absolutely the best seabass they had ever eaten. I ordered a vegetarian pasta which was amazing. Full of flavor. A bit spicy which I enjoy. After dinner we strolled the property to take in the beautiful sites. We can't wait to come back to explore more of the property when we come back to San Juan Del Cabo.
