Not the best experience for me ngl. Truly not one to come on here to drag down an establishment but this is def one of the poorest customer service + rudeness I've ever gotten. (Then again maybe the lady was just having a bad day & it def showed in the taste and appearance of the smoothie I ended up throwing away) & got mcDonalds instead for a way cheaper price and more authentic taste. Pictures attached: - Palo de Azucar strawberry banana smoothie- $6.86 - McDonald strawberry banana smoothie- $4.29 Asked her name to be friendly & she got super defensive hmm okay(I know there's a lot of political tension rn but then again I don't wanna be stereotypical so imma leave it at that) . In still trying to be positive and make small talk sis said something along the lines of... I'm busy with orders in the kitchen so what's your order because I don't have time for this... then rushed to back and returned back with the watered down and poorly tasted smoothie Didn't try anything else on the menu so maybe y'all will like those instead & come back and give a better review lol. For the outdoor seating, they take away the chairs at 5:30 and put inside before 6pm closing. So couldn't stay there & do late evening studying so I just went to the park with my McDonalds smoothie in hand. Overall the aesthetic was cute and the lights decor were pretty. Will not be returning

Noticed a new café had opened on South Broad and stopped to in to try Palo de Azúcar. Very well decorated and modern inside, with lots of cute coffee-related decor. My favorite touch is the "Welcome" above the menu written in three different languages (Spanish, Italian, and Polish), signifying three important immigrant groups in the city of Trenton. Plenty of seating inside and an outdoor dining structure, too. The menu on the wall is large and detailed but I wish it had the prices written on it. Really enjoyed the iced mocha latte and it's become my go-to at Palo de Azúcar. I also recommend trying some of the baked goods. The pastelito dominicano with chicken was so good and filling!

Palo de Azucar Cafe (Sugar Stick Cafe) is the second coffee house at this location that was an old time Italian deli for over fifty years before changing hands. I was a customer of that antique urban store, and loved their breakfast sandwiches, especially the sausage, egg and cheese creation. The old grill in the back room turned out many a delicious meal. So, when I saw that the new place had a morning menu including a SEC sammy, I know the temptation to explore that offering would be too great to let me stay away for long. And, so it was. I walked in today after finding a parking spot open in front. The room looked the same as the first cafe, but with interesting artwork on the walls, and a very pleasant crew of baristas handling the preparations on the polished stainless Expresso maker. I asked for the sandwich and large coffee, and looked around while waiting for it to be completed. Clean and well maintained. I watched as one of the women made my bagel sandwich on the small grills on the back shelf. Double meat. Double soft fried egg. Double cheese. She and I had a brief conversation about how Trenton had changed over the years (not all for the better, we agreed), but certainly with new life springing up in the shadows of this former "All American City." She constructed the layers of ingredients and nicely packaged it for my trip down the street to the office. That sticky decal with the cafe's logo was a very nice touch. Saving the best for last, the sandwich was among the best desayunos I've had the pleasure to consume. It was loaded, and each bite an explosion of tastes and textures, as my teeth slices through it. Amazing how exponentially better doubling the contents made the dish. A bagel is leaky by design, but it wasn't so extrusive as to require extreme caution. Yes, my fingers were involved in picking up all that fell out. It was all too good to waste. The coffee was a medium roast that continues to hold its flavor without bitterness to this very moment. At five minutes from the office, Palo de Azucar is too good to not become a regular morning stop. The sandwich so reminded me of the old guy cooking in the backroom, that it was almost like he was still around. Great way to commemorate the great grandfather of the shop by allowing his spirit to shine through.

3 and 3/4 stars…read more Someone said a "slice of Boca"? No, not quite. (Although "not Boca" isn't necessarily a bad thing.) However you look at it, the comparison is inflated. The latte was good (not delicious), but a tad watery with a fullness of flavor missing. It was a rainy Saturday afternoon and the place was busy, but not overwhelming so. Tables were full, but it was only a short wait for me to place my simple order (by coffee shop standards) of a small, vanilla latte. However, once my order was taken (yes, the wait-server was pleasant) and I paid, I was left to figure it out. First time in and so I didn't know what the deal was: do I wait where I am? Pick up at a different counter? Ok...but where? Does someone call my drink out when it's ready (there's no put-your-name-on-a-cup thing -- which IS annoying, but apparently can be more handy than I've previously thought)? Is the order stated when the cup is placed down? The person who waited on me had vanished into a gaggle of chatting and giggling girls behind the counter, so I asked another customer. (FYI: you wait at the perpendicular counter to your left of the register.) No big deal, but it's one of those "little things" that separates the four stars from the five. I moved to the "wait" counter and observed a few drinks being placed down -- all beverages in similar cups -- and had to (again) ask someone else for help (i.e., which order was mine), as the barista who made my drink put it down and then disappeared into that gaggle of girls. (Also minor, but another separator of the three and three quarter stars from the four.) In short, the latte was good, but not the best. The service? Ok, but not the best. The ambiance? Again ok. Maybe because I've lived in SE Florida for more than 20 years, but it definitely does not have that true Boca feel. Nonetheless, given the options in the area, Hamilatte is a welcome attempt at something different, and definitely a preferred choice to Starbucks. I will return if I'm nearby, but I won't go out of my way (as I do for a truly 5-star establishment).

A friend recently moved to Morrisville and I found myself in the area at lunchtime after a visit. I wanted to try a few things but it looked as though the steak was a big one, so I just had that. The fries that came with it were very good too. As was foretold, the steak was one of the best I've had in years. Let me start with the roll, long seeded torp that had a light toasting. ALL steaks should be so lucky as to have this as a delivery vehicle, most sandwiches too. The beef was tender and nicely seasoned and cheese and onions were evenly distributed throughout. The portion size/cost was very fair, this was 2 meals for me. My only critique would be on the Cooper American cheese used. I would prefer a sharper cheese, Cooper sharp or even provolone. I'll inquire if there are other options. Even if there weren't, I'd still get this anytime. I saw several other lunch items of interest to me, and in the right frame of mind and early enough several breakfast options too. Service was friendly and fast. I'll likely be back next for the shrimp tacos, or just another steak. I'm at a 4.5 with just the one visit, stay tuned....

First of all, it is the closest takeout restaurant to the Civil courthouse( also known as the place where potential jurors come to check in and wait to be called) I love that they share a small storefront with a florist, but it does make for tight quarters, esp during the ordering and waiting process. And the customer service was top notch. My first visit was for a lunch order. It was difficult trying to read the specials of the day menu, let alone the standard menu. This was due to timing, several people were ordering and or waiting. Once chicken quesadillas caught my eye I stopped reading. My selection came out fairly quickly and was packaged with small containers of salsa Fresca and sour cream. But I'm pretty sure menu read that some type of salad was also included, this was left out. They were pretty good too, well seasoned pulled chicken and cheese, the flour tortillas were perfectly grilled and stayed that way even in the package. It was a nice serving and I would have really enjoyed had it come with a fresh and simple salad. I would order again as well. My next two visits were just for a pick me up bakery item. The pumpkin muffin was excellent. The chocolate chip one was not very good. Not enough chips and a dry texture. But during each trip the owner was right up front and being helpful and friendly to all. I feel that this spirit does go into the food that is prepared and served here. Good spot for locals, workers and even the confused juror.

Walk past their kitchen and it is Amoroso's Flower Shop, where you can still buy a bouquet of roses for your anniversary. Love the adaptive reuse of this old storefront on S. Broad Street, Trenton; right across from the very old courthouse. It is hard to find driving by, and there are seldom parking spaces within the surrounding area. But, if you work or live in the neighborhood, or go to the new civil or criminal courts, you can walk over and pick up soup, sandwich, breakfast muffin, etc., on your way to the office. It closes at 2:00 pm. Service is exemplary given how small the space is. The two friendlies who helped me out were attractive and efficient. One made up my grilled chicken chipotle wrap, while the other provided the history of the business and worked the register. Both were happy to pose for photos when I pulled out my Yelp screen after ordering. You can see the results. The lunch was very good. Fresh, quality ingredients and TLC. Plenty of stuffing for a large wrap. It was enough for two meals. @ $8.50, it was a spectacular deal. Too bad there is no place to sit, because the room is comfy in a cramped way, and it would be nice to absorb more atmosphere from the winsome workers.

I first noticed Panorama Musicale while picking up lunch at Italian Peoples' Bakery next door. From the outside it still looks like an Italian shop from Chambersburg's heyday. But, walking in you realize you aren't in Jersey anymore. The language is Spanish, and the environment is Latin Café. I was there to see about lunch. The friendly owner showed me what was cooking in the water table, and I chose the fried chicken and rice. I noticed the other customers were drinking coffee, and soon understood why. Behind the counter was a copper classic expresso machine, complete with large dome and spread eagle on top. A work of art from another era. So, the chicken was dry and overcooked, and the rice only passable. I wouldn't return for their food unless desperate. For that alone, they would get two stars at most. However, I wasn't gong to leave without testing that awesome contraption, and ordered a latte to go. I watched as the process unfolded. Valves were turned. Steam pipe immersed. Foam poured. Impressive bit of engineering and design. And, the latte was excellent, too! Far better than the average joe, and at a reasonable price compared to the better known beaneries. If it had been served in ceramic, on a tray, and with a cookie, it would have garnered five stars; but given the styro cup delivery, I just couldn't get that far. Panorama Musicale could use a thorough cleaning and a little panache around its wonderful expresso machine, but as it is, it is a surprising find for superior coffee in the heart of Jersey's capital city.
