Hidden gem, worth the visit to this walk-up (even if their hours are irregular). Authentic Baja-style fish tacos and burritos. Good spice on the carne asada with whole Grilled jalapeños. I'll start by saying the food is really good. Most of our party had fish tacos. We had the nachos as an appetizer. The ambiance of the patio is nice. We arrived just before 7pm on Friday night with a party of 8. The Website and Yelp both list the hours as open until 8pm. However, the man at the counter said we had to order immediately because they were closing. We mentioned what the Website says and they told us they haven't been able to update it. We ordered a round of Huckleberry margaritas which were also great. IF YOU DRINK HERE, THEY WILL HAVE YOUR CAR TOWED! Unfortunately, I will not be frequenting this restaurant anymore. I was there for happy hour. During that time I was drinking. When my group left, I decided to leave my car in their parking lot. I did not want to drink and drive no matter what! When I went to get my car in the morning, they had it towed. Here is an establishment that serves alcohol; however, they don't want you leaving your car in their lot. If you leave your car there because you are trying to be safe & do the right thing, they have your car towed. I made the responsible decision of not driving drunk but then it cost me $200 to get my car out of the impound. They are saying that they rather you drink & drive than leave your car overnight. They are not trying to keep the community safe at all. I do not recommend coming to this restaurant any more!!! They then proceeded to reply with a rude & unapologetic comment. Was confused and frustrated when I watched two groups walk straight back to the patio, but when I tried to go find my friends, I got yelled at saying I had to order first. They don't have a liquor license, so their "margaritas" are essentially cheap mixes that you have to add tons of sugar to in order to make it drinkable. It is way overpriced since they are not performing any service, and there are way better patios in Moscow. read more

A bit pricey but my favorite place for Mexican food in the Palouse. I love the outdoor patio area. The salsa always tastes fresh and flavorful. There is a sign that says something about how they aren't a fast food place but I've never had to wait too long for my order here, even on busy days. This is a cute lil stop right next to Idaho University in Moscow. You put your order in at the front counter, and you can find a sunny seat outside, like I did today. They do have inside seating, and they allowed my 2 labs to sit outside on their porch. I ordered the yukatan fish tacos. Though the tacos were tasty, the toppings were really overkill. It made the taco super heavy, and if left sitting too long it would make the tacos too soft n soggy. The rice was well seasoned, I didn't try the beans, as I'm not a bean fan. The margarita was just ok, it came out of a tap, again which I'm not a fan of. The queso I ordered was a let down-it was grainy, lumpy n not appetizing at. Patty's is like a permanent food truck, complete with fresh-cooked food, beer, and outdoor seating. Because the food is fresh-cooked, it takes quite a while to get your order, so don't come here if you are in a hurry. The wait is worth it for the delicious food! I think, given their food-truck kind of set up, there may sometimes be some variety in the food quality as listed by other reviewers, but I have never had a problem here. Today I ordered a breakfast burrito to-go and started digging into it when half way through I bit down on something hard and crunchy. Honestly, this is sort of a fun place. Realistically, it's basically a shack out on the lawn though. When we walked in, we didn't realize how sprawled out it was, because you can't really see it from the front. We sauntered up to the bar, ordered a couple of margaritas and some chips. Drinks get taken back picnic tables with a bit of overhead covering and then they bring food to you at your tables. Drinks were refreshing, but the food was ordinary. The food is great its just awkward that how long it takes to come out that its a counter deal. I wouldn't mind the slowness if I didn't have to stay close enough to pick it up. Also there isn't anything in the way of appetizers. I ordered chips to eat while my burrito came out and it simply couldn't be done to throw some in a basket while I waited. Not to mention by the time the order comes out I've already settled into a spot and may as well eat it there. It makes stopping by, for yourself awkward. Also no Wifi not that I have ever gone there to do work and I understand some places actively discourage that, but I don't know what else to do with myself during the wait. The food was very fresh and delicious, although I think my fish tacos would have been better if made with a thicker variety of fish. I did not ask, but suspect that they use Tilapia because the fish was very thin. Okay, my review might be a little biased because of my affection for this place, but the food is truly fantastic. Let's start with the salsa verde: so so excellent. One of the best salsas I've ever had. Their burritos are big and filling, and you can choose a variety of fillings for them. I usually got the fish tacos, which are some of the best I've ever had. I'm from San Diego, and when I went back to visit a couple years ago, I kept comparing the fish tacos to Patty's. San Diego is where the fish taco was born, but I think Patty's Kitchen in little Moscow Idaho got them pretty close to perfect. For a summertime experience where you have time time to just enjoy being outside, listen to the music, or just catch up with friends this is the place you want to be. I like the extensiveness of the menu, yet Patty's is mostly hit or miss on flavor. I liked their rice and the beans were okay, but a little bland. The salsa was very good, but as usual, most Mexican food in the Pac. NW have stale-ass tortilla chips. I like mine light and crisp, right out of the deep fryer. Heart attack in a bowl. lol. I do not recommend their chorizo anything. Although they make it from scratch, it doesn't taste like anything I've ever eaten in Mexico. Maybe I'm expecting too much. Here's an update on Patty's Kitchen... it's been bumped up to five stars for one reason and one reason only - the summer Mexican grill on Wednesdays and Fridays! For a mere $25, here is what you get: a half pound of tri-tip, a half pound of sausage, a good amount of chicken, two pork ribs, two lamb shanks, grilled veggies, a plate of rice, beans and lettuce, and two drinks of your choice, including beer. If you get beer, then you will receive a giant heaping of the best food I've had since moving to Moscow - and the best barbecued food this side of the Cascades - for about $18. It easily fed my mother, father and myself, with room to spare. If you don't come check this out on a Wednesday or Friday night, you my friend, are an idiot. I'm giving it four stars based on one visit thus far. A nice range of outdoor seating, a kitchen in what looks like a small airplane hangar, and a decent list of draught beers for good prices makes this place a winner to me. I had fish tacos, which were lightly fried to deliciousness, and wrapped in wonderful taco add-ons. But the best part of this place is their chips and salsa. They sell bottles of their green salsa, and its probably the best I've ever had. read more

The mixed grill says it feeds two but it would be fine for three or four.The grilled vegetable tamales were delicious. There was a very fun nine piece reggae band that played. Sorry if this is a little harsh, but I review from the vegan perspective. It's just how I roll. I came with my host (non-vegan) and when we walked up realized it was two for one super burrito night (extra star!). I assume she enjoyed her burrito. I got mine vegetarian with no cheese and sour cream. I asked if I could have avacado substituted and the guy said it would cost a dollar extra. I pointed out that I had removed most of the ingredients from the burrito but he said there was nothing he could do. Hmm. So the two burritos had about a half pound weight difference, maybe more, which means they simply removed all the stuff I didn't want and gave me no extra of the things I did want. Cool. Salsa verde was good. The saving grace. Everything else was about as bland as I'd expect from a burrito made in Moscow, ID (sorry to be a hater, but we all have preconcieved notions of places, it's just human nature). I'd rather get a burrito from Chipotle. Even I have to use Chipotlaway to get the bloody stains out of my underwear :] read more

My husband has been obsessed with the roasted and verde salsas and purchases at least two containers a week at the farmer's market. We finally made it a priority to stop for lunch at Patty's on Sunday. It was a hot day but we found plenty of shaded tables and felt pretty comfortable with our huge mugs of beer. The fish tacos that had lured us in were pretty good, but not great. Something was missing but I can't exactly put my finger on it. Tasty rice and beans on the side, superb salsa. The red is my favorite. Apparently it is a bit cheaper to buy the salsa from the farmer's market ($4.00 per container versus $4.75 at the restaurant) so we'll probably keep doing that until the season ends. Honestly, it was a bit pricier than we were expecting from something that seemed so casual but I'm sure that two as-big-as-your-head mugs of Mac & Jack's AA and NB Ranger IPA didn't help our final $37.00 total. We definitely want to keep going because we enjoy the chips and salsa and the atmosphere but we'll probably share a beer and an entree. read more

Do not underestimate this small mexican shack in idaho! It's small, but they emphasize it is NOT fast food, and I wholehearted agree. The food here is pretty authentic as it gets in Idaho. Seating: is outdoor in a cute area with hanging flower plants and benches with tables that go up to your chest (or maybe my friends and I are just a little short). Very pet friendly, as some people brought their dogs. Food: I got two carne asada soft tacos here (one traditional, one non) and they were both pretty good. A little on the small side for what it's worth though, but it definitely hit the spot. My friends got the Pollo en Mole, which was very moist and tasty, and the shredded beef burrito. We inhaled the food in 10 minutes. They guys here are so nice and will come around and bring you chips and salsa; and the salsa here is amazingly good, although a bit on the salty side though. read more

I have traveled to Mexico for many years and have experienced all kinds of meals in all kinds of places and because of this rarely eat at Mexican restaurants in the Northwest because most are simply not Mexican food like is had in Mexico. Having said all that, Patty's takes me as close to Mexico as I've ever gotten at a Restaurant in the Northwest. Your meal is prepared fresh and it tastes great too.
