Incredible hospitality, great rum punch, best Caribbean food I've had in the states. Lifelong customer now

My friends and I came on a Saturday night, so thankful that Pam's was able to accommodate a big group! The food was good. I liked the pelau with the the channa curry but I'm not sure if I would have liked it by itself. I would have wanted to try other items on the menu but they were sold out of... basically everything. Our food came out pretty late because we had ordered the aloo pies but we were only told that they were out after everyone else's food had come out. So we had to place our order + wait for the food to be made, leading to a ~15min delay compared to our friends. Would want to come back and try when they have more in stock!

Solid 3 1/2 stars Pam the owner is 10 stars! Treats you like family and loves sharing her food with others. It was like a nightclub set up, so we were a bit confused upon entering. There are tables and booths for dining. A dance floor and a main bar. Kitchen is in the back. We decided to order takeout. There was a steady local fanfare that would pickup their orders for takeout as we waited, so it seems like a fair amount of locals come thru here. The goat curry seemed like a small portion in my opinion. I was expecting like a gravy type curry, but it was more of a curry rub I believe and was a little greasy in my opinion. Nonetheless, I did enjoy the flavors and polished mine off. The jerk wings had a slight sweetness to its rub and to my palate was not too spicy for me, but my nephew thought it was spicy. We also ordered the paratha roti and dhalpuri roti. Both were delicious. Stop in and judge for yourself. Pam will greet you with that island charm and make sure you leave with a full stomach.

This place is super delicious! I've never had Trinidadian food, but after eating here, I'm instantly a fan! We ordered the goat curry with dhal roti, kale, and spicy jerk chicken wings. The dhal roti was perfectly chewy and didn't feel oily at all, and coupled with the dhal, it was perfect. The jerk chicken wings had so much flavor but wasn't overly salty, highly recommend. The one thing I'd suggest is if you can't handle super spicy foods, maybe go for the regular jerk chicken entree instead. The goat curry was really well done as well and we'd recommend everything we ordered! We also really appreciated the friendly, welcoming vibes of the restaurant. Will definitely be back!

Food:5/5 Service:5/5 Ambiance :5/5 One of the best restaurants recently I tasted. Perhaps the best. What a lively ambiance and friendly staff. A unique experience with great food and vibing place felt like home. I would encourage everyone to try this place and support their business as they are planning to close due to high maintenance cost. Paratha Perfectly flaky and soft bread. Super delicious and tasty. Unique taste with a blend of Indian and Carribean Lamb curry- Juicy and perfectly cooked lamb curry. It had authentic South Indian taste. Aloo pies : a great fusion of Indian and carribean style pies made of potato. Service :5/5 Great friendly staff who are very responsive. They treat you like you are at home. Ambiance :5/5 The ambiance was great. When we went there were local musicians playing some Caribbean beats. It was total fun and happening. Every first Saturday they have this music. Only downside I would say might be parking. As it is on the road and you might park near by and walk.

First time here (finally) and we're in love! The service was awesome. Super accommodating and knowledgable. We really appreciated that our server went and checked with the chef and owner about dietary questions. Cozy but surprisingly large space! We showed up after 8pm but it got busier and busier through the night. Lively ambiance :) Food was of course incredible. I'd be curious to know if some items are halal. Very worth the price for quality and quantity.Plus the hot sauce slaps; will be buying a bottle next time! My one and only critique is that the website menu doesn't match the QR code menu - a couple items are no longer available, and the QR menu doesn't have gf/vegan stuff marked. But again, they kindly checked on all of this for us, and we're sure they'll update things soon. Excited to return!

Soso good! Everything we got was amazing. Flavors were bright and strong. Both the Jerk Ribs and Chicken Entrees were great for sharing. Both came with rice and slaw and the meats were so well-cooked and flavorful. The Goat Curry was also great as an additional dish. Generous on the meat portion. Again, super flavorful and rich. Paired amazingly with their ridiculous tasty Roti Paratha! Easily some of the best I've had. Buttery and flaky without being too heavy. Honestly this was a perfect meal. They're a small business so service can be slow but uber friendly so be patient and you'll be rewarded with ridiculously good food.

Amazing service, wonderful food & amazing Lady Pam is. My family is actually from the village she is from in Trinidad and it was a walk down memory lane. I was trying to explain to my husband about her bread and chicken my cousins and I would walk to her shop to buy. And then I saw the painting I was speechless. When I first saw her on food network I asked my cousins if they recognize her because why do I feel like I seen her before and yeah that's Pam! It was a joy chatting with her and sad to know she will be closing. Her food was amazing and it was such a joy to see such a beautiful display of the culture in another city. I hope a miracle happens, everyone needs to taste her blessed sweet hands. Cause I'm very picky about my Trini food and she nailed it. Much love!

Was looking for interesting looking food in the Wallingford area and Pam's Kitchen showed up as an recommended restaurant that was well liked by the community. We went on a Saturday around 7PM and had no wait time to get seated. As for parking, I could see it being difficult to find close by streetside parking during the busy times of the day. Fortunately, there is parking at the nearby QFC lot, granted that you are willing to buy some groceries in order to park there for an extended period of time and walk on over. Service is relatively fast, the restaurant wasn't too busy when we went, and we were able to get all of our food in about 15 minutes. The ambiance is very casual and homely - with Caribbean/Trinidad decorations scattered throughout the restaurant. Ordering is done through viewing an online menu, and then through your waiter. We tried a couple of items, which I'll review down below: Callaloo ($6): I think that this was a delicious side/appetizer dish! I personally have never had Callaloo, and I was excited to try it. The best description that I could come up with, is that it tastes like a more fragrant, creamier, and smoother spinach and artichoke dip. This is a pleasant side dish that I think would compliment anything else you are planning on the menu. Coconut Fry Bread ($5): I've tried fry bread before, but not specifically coconut fry bread with Caribbean influences. This bread is delicious - ranges from thin and crispy outer shell when you rip it, to the soft pillowy inside. There is a subtle coconut flavor in each bite so it does live up to the name. Stewed Oxtail ($28): As a fan of oxtail in Caribbean cooking - hearty and decadent in terms of flavor and texture. Very meaty and each bite is indulgent. You can taste a comfortable spice in the sauce (likely habanero if I had to guess) and a slight sweetness that is pleasant. The macaroni and rice + peas (beans) provide a nice texture contrast and serve as a good palate cleanser. Macaroni Pie ($12): Same macaroni as served in the Stewed Oxtail entree - I personally think that for $12, this macaroni side isn't really worth it. It is decent macaroni for sure, and if you love this style of macaroni you will love it, but I think it is better you just taste it in an entree order that includes it - this is basically just $12 for a little under double the macaroni you get in an entree for reference. In the end, I thought that Pam's Kitchen is a solid place to visit if you are in Wallingford and looking to fulfill Caribbean cravings. The atmosphere is very like you went to a local establishment in Trinidad and had some nice home cooking. I would definitely like to revisit to try the other interesting options that Pam's Kitchen has to offer!

what it is restaurant last week and it was amazing. Food was so good. Listen everybody this is a minority own woman own restaurant located in the middle of Wallingford community. This is a business. We all need to be supporting. Pam's kitchen has been around for 18 years and we wanted around for another 18 years. Support this business. The food is so good you won't regret it. Below is a picture of some of the food that I had and explore your pallet.

A true gem in Wallingford. I have been a fan of the goat curry and roti here. I have stuck with these two items whenever I have come here. Plus Pam is so sweet. She comes over and talks with customers. Everyone knows her! They're only doing takeout right now but it's still worth the trek to Wallingford!

We split a Green Goddess salad and a burger with a side of delicious fries. I had the Stoup Cerevezita while my partner ordered a Margarita. Service was friendly and so were the other patrons. All the drinks were ordered were quick and tasty. For those that cannot drink beer, they do have Twisted Tea on tap which is somewhat carbonated which is fun, unique and refreshing. Went on a weeknight, and saw that they had Blanton's. May be the cheapest price for a pour of it in town. Since it was only a few bucks more than a standard bourbon and coke, asked for a Blanton's and coke, which got some laughter, good played heckling and jokes from the bartenders. (obviously I corrected myself and did not get it with coke). Pool tables look nice and in good condition. Lines for a table were pretty long, but there was a group for a birthday party there squatting on one of the tables all night. The cook in the back seemed a bit gruff and muttered something at my wife when he was trying to book it back to the kitchen in a crowded bar. It just needs a jukebox and for smoking to be allowed. Beers are cheap, especially the large bierstein drafts you can get for like 8 bucks, where as a pint anywhere else would cost you the Same. Food is also pretty inexpensive. Even in my last visit they lump my tab with my friend but a pint, ginger ale (my friend skipped beer this visit) and an order of chicken tenders was like $17, I was surprised. The outdoor patio is nice and there is a fair amount of seating inside. Some of the downsides are the staff can be hit and miss and there is only one register so lines for drinks can get long, fast. If you see the line short, jump then if you can. Besides that Lenys is like my favorite dive bar - cheap drinks and food, sports and good atmosphere.

I have to say, for the price the food and drinks weren't at the level I expected. We ordered nachos, crab Rangoon dip, and pretzel bites. The nachos were probably our favorite, but they weren't anything special for $22. The Rangoon dip was mostly cream cheese and barely had any flavor. I think they were depending on the nori chips to bridge the gap, but those didn't taste the greatest.
