This is a great place to hide and escape reality for a moment. The food is actually pretty good for pub food. Prices are odd because almost every entree costs the same. The bartenders are great for the most part. You can't not have a good time with Jackie and Shiela. The beer menu could have some more variety but for what it's worth, this place is simple and easy to enjoy. Some friends had recently discovered Pam's and suggested it would be a great place for us to meet with them some evening. After all, it just so happens to be our closest neighborhood watering hole. We had been there once before, maybe about 20 years ago and never returned. It's not that there was any problem with that first visit, it just didn't seem to offer something that called out for us to return sooner. Since it seemed like a second visit probably was in order, off we went on a Friday evening to reacquaint ourselves with Pam's. The place was almost filled, both at the bar and the tables. Live music was being performed by a guitar-playing singer who was mostly ignored by the crowd. The three remaining tables that were available were all in front of the performer and his amplified equipment. We thought the table furthest from the speakers would be inappropriate for the two of us to occupy since it could easily seat eight, so we chose the next furthest table from the speakers, a four-top. Yes, the music was loud but we were still able to carry on a conversation. There were several TVs scattered around the walls, but it appeared there was no real interest by the 40+year-old customers in either the Yankee/Red Sox game or The O'Reilly Factor. While there appeared to be only two ladies covering both the bar and the tables, we were acknowledged in less than five minutes, informed of the beers on tap, the most exotic being two Sam Adams brews, and provided with menus. Our two pints of Sam's Summer Ale ($4.25 each) arrived quickly and we placed our order for Loaded Nachos ($11.95) and a Burger with cheese and an upgrade to Sweet Potato Fries ($10.50). The food was delivered to our table in a reasonably prompt fashion. The Nachos had very little flavor, in spite of the melted cheese, diced peppers, tomatoes, onions, chile, and jalapeno slices. The chips were typically salty and the sides of salsa and sour cream did nothing to add flavor. The half-pound burger was served as requested, medium-rare, and had a reasonable char flavor on the outside, but the beef itself had no noticeable flavor. It lacked juiciness for this degree of rareness, but benefited from the melted cheddar cheese on top. The roll was soft and fresh, and the sweet potato fries were typical frozen fries and only warm when they arrived on the table. By comparison, an order of regular French Fries left in error at our table were nice and hot. A small plastic container of nondescript macaroni salad was also served as a side to the burger. Service was friendly and efficient considering the number of customers per server. The performer wished us a "good-night" as we departed. If our friends get around to deciding on a night to meet them there, we'll likely join them for a drink and maybe try something else on the menu. My husband and I popped in here on a weeknight and were surprised by how busy it was. We sat at the bar and bartender was nice and provided great service. The bar had great energy and the crowd was lively and very chatty. There are plenty of tvs with sports on and we were happy to be able to have Fiddlehead on tap. It was one of the coldest beers I've had in a long time, which was noteworthy! We didn't get a chance to eat, but thought it was a cool spot and would be happy to go back. read more

Went there for a drink after work with my buddy, ordered Sam Adam's summer ale and some barbecue wings, pretty sure they add water to the beer because that's what I drink everywhere and at home. Wings are awful, don't know why there is that much water in the plate and it almost made it like a "wing soup". Will never go back there. In response to the owner's reply below. I was there with my buddy way earlier than August. Did not get a chance to put a review in until we spoke about the terrible experience again. So, to the owner, instead of questioning my integrity as a reviewer, maybe it's better to focus on improving the foods, drinks, and service of the place. Had a really burnt burger with an awful bun and some not even half cooked soggy fries for lunch. I'm in town from Buffalo,NY and tried a few wings from my bro in laws order. Yikes! You guys are kidding yourself trying to promote those as good. Soggy and tiny. Take a ride down the 90 eat some real wings and try again. read more

Standard bar fare for standard bar prices. The most exciting aspect of this place is playing trivia with the demented locals who frequent this place. The food is just ok, the beers on tap are unexciting and the service is average at best. The popcorn machine is a nice touch though. Dark, depressing and some of the worst bartenders ever. Maybe if we were regulars we'd get better service. Rather than wait on our table the bartender (dark hair and tattoos) preferred to gossip loudly. She even looked over at us and kept right on gossiping. There were very few lights or if there were more lights they kept them off intentionally. The place was very dark, no windows other then up by the door. It seems it is long overdue for some updating. Maybe four people at the bar and we were the only table. No outdoor seating and an overwhelming order of something foul. Too many places around now with great bartenders, adequate lighting, windows AND outdoor seating. The fact the place is outdated can be overlooked if they hired better help. We should have know to leave when we saw there was really nobody else in there. We ended up ordering bottled beers (can't screw that up) and some wings. The wings were huge (like they opted for cheap) and rubbery. We ended up not eating them and didn't want to take them with us, paid our bill and went someplace else. read more

Came here for lunch while working in the area. Had to burn an hour so decided to come here instead of a fast food restaurant. The bar area is cool and chill. Kind of depressing....dark, kind of dreary and solemn. Definitely not a place for someone under 60.

It's a place I don't go often as I just don't think of it. But when there I have found the service to be fine, It's typical pub fare of sandwiches, wings, and apps. I enjoyed their wings and would place them on a par with all the other local pubs quality. Both in price and quality. Large salds that actually can be shared. It's a very comfortable place and they make feel like a regular and most times the bar crowd is very friendly. It's safe place to bring children as the won't tolorate any loud foul language and they are quick to deal with it. Especially in cases where perhaps someone has had a little too much. If you're in that part of town and up for a few drinks and pub fare it's well worth a visit. read more

Bartenders cater to the regulars and will serve them before you even if you were there first. Food is nothing special. Potato skins were so dry we asked for more sour cream. Not only did she not ask if the food was ok, she charged us for the extra sour cream. We couldn't even finish the food, it was that dry. We tried making this our weekly outing spot, but decided not to return after several weeks of crappy service and sub par food. I stopped in on a Sunday afternoon during NFL football after reading some good reviews. The sliders were on special so I ordered them and was very pleased. Best buffalo wings in Clifton Park..close call/near tie with Ralph's Italian American on Central Ave., Albany in Capital District. However, Pam's garlic buffalo wings rule (extra crispy) and #1 in Capital District. If off-the bone is your preference, try the buffalo wrap (garlic buffalo or regular buffalo). Great service, friendly, local pub atmosphere. Even those that have a few too many..are friendly. Crowd tends to be older (35+), so maybe maturity helps? read more

This isn't the type of bar you'd go out of your way to visit, but as an intimate neighborhood bar, it's perfect. It's the kind of place where people shout your name when you walk in the door. They have trivia on Thursday nights and karaoke on Saturday nights. They often have fundraisers and events for good causes. They really look after their neighbors. They have a full bar menu, most of which is not worth recommending, although their chicken tenders and quesadillas are pretty good. The wait staff and bartenders are awesome, down-to-earth, and fun. read more
