It just seems like this is a neglected corner of the PIH campus, where things happen not because of…read moregood habits, but bad. The place wreaks of a lack of vision, leadership, and correction and it's in part due to the fact that there's no oversight because it's enough away from the main hospital that no one goes there. A neglected, rather tawdry waiting room in the treatment area greets very sick patients with a puzzle on a makeshift card table, a CD player playing very old songs, rather than using piped in music, and magazines which are years old. A nurse shows patients into the treatment area, but fails to show some of them how to put on the gowns. I can't tell you how many patients were unable to dress themselves (tying the gowns behind them) and either came out half disrobed, or had other patients rushing in to help them. It is an unnecessarily tiny untidy place, and it's as if whomever designed it, never went to see the radiation oncology buildings at other locations. While the radiation techs are hard working, they are left with old machinery that breaks down. There's a lack of centralized communications with patients when this happens. They might call to cancel your appt., however the nurses have no idea, and won't call to cancel or confirm your appt. with the doctor if it happens to be the same day. So you end up going in anyway, and sometimes, they'll say, "Oh, we cancelled your appt." Neither the doctors nor the nurses or the admins have any regard of HIPAA. Doors to examining and the consultation rooms are left open, and anyone's progress or lack thereof, can be heard by passersby. (I once heard a fellow patient get bad news). Also, none of the doctors or the RN speaks fluent Spanish. So there's a lot of yelling as though the patient is deaf! In addition, the security door between the main waiting area and the clinic is left permanently open. There's a reason that security door is there, but apparently, they see it as an inconvenience. Look into other places before going to this tired place. The service won't kill you, but it won't inspire you, either.

I can confidently say custom earplugs are much more comfortable than the generic ones you find on Amazon or at Guitar Center. At Soundscape Audiology, you can even choose the colors, so it's easy to tell which earplug goes where. They also come with a zippered carrying case and a cleaning brush. My husband - musician ear plugs; me - swimming ear plugs. The procedure for getting molds of our ears made was fairly fast, not uncomfortable (just a slightly weird sensation), and the ear plugs were ready to pick up in 2 weeks. As someone who generally does not like having my ears plugged, these custom swim plugs (different colors too, to identify R and L!) have been a revelation. They are really snug and comfortable, don't fall out, don't let water in, allow me to still hear some sound, and I was told that they also float if they should fall into the pool. I haven't tested this. I highly recommend Soundscape Audiology! It was very easy to make appointments. Dr Thakkar was great - he explained everything very clearly and we felt safe and assured throughout the whole process. Note: no credit card payment. We paid by venmo.

The staff also wears gloves inspecting your nose, ears, or throat. There are some hand sanitizers available for patients to use. This place is open and available with limited capacity. They are sanitizing in between patients. COVID-19 Vaccination Proof: This establishment currently does not require proof of vaccination. They also do not allow pets in their establishment UNLESS it's a service animal. Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is massive since they share the lot with several other medical offices. The medical office itself was very quiet, clean, neat, and tidy. The waiting room is very calming and peaceful. Staff: Dr. Fisher is kind, friendly, and knowledgeable. Excellent bedside manners. The receptionist at the front desk was also very welcoming and courteous. They accept both cash and credit cards. There is no credit card minimum.
