I decided to try this place as I'm staying in the MGM grand. It's not horrible and definitely does a job of having something to eat. I got the orange chicken and it was cooked really well, but extremely sweet and very saucy. The rice and mixed vegetables were fresh, but they didn't have any flavor. This setup is similar to Panda Express, but PE is much better. First of all, Panda really fills up your dish, Panda Asian doesn't. Rightly so because they don't count on repeat customers as much. I found one peanut in my Kung Pow. The chaw main was good but the fried rice needed some work. Orange chicken too orangey. Over all it wasn't worth $19.00. I'm going to give two stars. You walk up and you have a girl who is zombie mode. No smile. No good morning. No acknowledgment that there's even five people standing in the line. She's just a zombie. I ordered. The menu is confusing, because you can get ham & sausage in your omelette included in the expensive price of $16.95, but if you don't look at what they have and read the menu carefully it looks like bacon or sausage is an extra $4.95. I had a breakfast omelette. The omelette was good... It's hard to screw up an omelette. It comes with diced breakfast potatoes, which were served cold, and toast... Which wasn't toasted... I called that dry bread . When you pay, the little kiosk, The screen has the audacity to ask you if you want to leave at 25% tip after not getting any smiles or good mornings or anything resembling happiness at all from the staff. Would I eat here again? Sadly... Yes, because there's nothing else like this around here. They kind of have a monopoly. The arm was still good. You can add a side of bacon or sausage but dont really need to add those since you can have them diced into your omelet. The omelet was good, I would get it again. The potatoes are plain and served cold white toast. Its about $18 for an omelet. The service was efficient but as another reviewer commented- they were a bit of zombies. Its a food court so have low expectations but overall good. I chatted with someone who got food from a different food court stand who said their breakfast sandwich didnt taste fresh- so at least this is fresh! read more

An advice from a well wisher...AVOID THIS TOURIST TRAP !!! Staying at MGM Grand and was looking for a quick Chinese dinner around 10 pm ( most of the good restaurants around MGM were closed).When we saw Pan Asian Express in the food court, we thought: Oh Well! Another Panda Express-ish place w/ similar cost but man we were wrong! 1st they don't show their food prices anywhere in the store and it was freaking busy so we just ordered two 2 item combos (over $18) & one 1 item combo and 4 16 Oz. Dasani water bottles which the total was over $71 and I'm talking about food court meals NOT restaurants! Lessons learned and next time we'll just avoid the MGM food court in whole !! read more

I was trying to find a more homey and healthy option in the food court, but this did not cut it at all. I got a side of mixed vegetables with orange chicken and grilled teriyaki chicken. The teriyaki was AWFUL. Didn't even look like chicken and lacked flavor. The vegetables were bland but tasted strange at the same time. While staying at the Grand MGM, I was trying to find food nearby after a comedy show. At 11pm on a Sunday the hotel was very busy, but majority of the restaurants were closed, leaving the food court basically the only option without leaving the hotel. At the food court, Pan Asian express was the first restaurant we decided to try since there was no line compared to the others. They had only one protein option available which was orange chicken and the option of noodles or rice. They had nothing else available at all. No veggies or anything like that. They were supposed to close at 12am and did not put out new food after 11 when we arrived, although, I don't know exactly how long it had been sitting before then. The price of the food is astronomical especially with the fact that nothing was available to choose from. Given that the restaurant closed in an hour, I expected possibly a few hours old food. The noodles were absolutely tasteless and over cooked and appeared if they had been sitting for days. The orange chicken was extremely dry and didn't have any sauce on it. At all.. I took two bites and threw the $24 meal away right after. I don't think I've ever described a meal as Horrendous food but that's what this was. As I was sitting down eating, I noticed the lady working was standing on the counter (area that warms the food) to clean the sneeze guards instead of walking around. Not sure if this was normal however, I wouldn't have ordered food here if I know the staff had there feet where the food usually sits. Maybe that's just me though. Considering how much time I was set to spend here for my conference, it was a given that I'd end up trying a few of the eateries/restaurants MGM Grand has to offer. However, I can't say I figured that would include two of their food courts offerings (review for Nathan's to come). I have no one to blame but myself though - what was I thinking, bracketing my lunch break with sessions? Hard to wander off when there's not much time to go very far...ugh. Located inside MGM Grand's food court, Pan Asian Express is nothing special, to be entirely honest. Essentially a nicer looking Panda Express, but more generic and without as wide of a variety to choose from. That being said, what they do have (including Orange Chicken!) doesn't look too shabby. What's more, the prices aren't egregious, which is nice since I didn't have a ton of alternatives... After choosing the Vegetable Chow Mein as the "base" for my TWO ITEM COMBO (they also have plain rice, as well as fried rice), I opted to go with their Ginger Chicken with Vegetables and their Orange Chicken (of course, I had to!) over options like Vegetable Stir Fry, Chicken & Mushrooms, Sweet & Sour Pork, Egg Rolls, and Crab Rangoon. All in all, while the food clearly didn't impress, it actually wasn't as bad as I had feared (which isn't saying much). On the one hand, the Orange Chicken was meaty with a nice, citric flavor and the Ginger Chicken was a fried (though repetitive) surprise. Yet, there were more minuses than pluses - the chow mein was gummy and bland, the Orange Chicken's batter was thick and soggy, and the Ginger Chicken was a bit salty. Considering it's comparably priced to a regular mall food court (in SF, anyways), Pan Asian Express isn't awful if you want to save a few bucks without leaving the hotel. However, I'd rather use the $16 I paid for my meal ($10.98) and a bottle of water ($3.48) on something more unique or Shake Shack across the street. Late night stopped in here - although MGM website says the food court is open 24hrs, this closes at 11pm. We got there 1040pm, they're obviously winding down with only two dishes and steamed rice - I took the rest of the sweetsour pork, wife and son the orange chicken. Food was A-ok - veggies were pretty fresh, good sauce, tasty. Rice good. Prices probably $2-3 more than you expect at say Panda Express in a mall, but this IS on MGM premise so much better than mind-blowing prices at other eateries here, and it's late. Hint: order a FREE Cup of ice water. So they get a completely unexpected bonus GREEN star - plates earth friendly compostable: the water cup was paper as well. And surprisingly PAPER STRAWS were here although we didn't need them. With MGM's ghastly prodigious reckless use of single-use plastic this was a welcome change. Very friendly employees too! This place is a very very cheap knock off of Panda Express but three times the cost and half the quality. The noodles were all stuck together in a clump that was held together by grease and garlic. The Potstickers were soggy and flavorless and the orange chicken was mostly skin, breading and a generic brown sauce that was more hot that orange... For both, I couldnt tell if the meat I was eating was fish, chicken, pork, or flour. Yes, it was that bland, and bad. The fried rice was tasteless and hard. Also, service was terribe.
