Amazing variety of pastries, giant sandwiches, and great hot dishes.
How is this place only getting 3 stars? I loved it! I really appreciate the variety it offers.
We came on Christmas day. I'm not sure if it is normally this busy or if that was because it is one of the only places that was open. We ended up parking around the corner by the houses. Even though there were a lot of people ordering food, a lot of people were taking it with them, so we were still able to get a seat. You order the hot plates where the food is, but you pay and order everything else at the cash register. This was confusing to us and a couple of us stood in line twice trying to order sandwiches. Oh well, nobody is in a hurry in Puerto Rico.
The chicken looks better than it tastes. The skin is amazing, but the meat is a little dry. I would definitely order a sandwich if you come here - and lots of pastries. The sandwich is huge. It is definitely meant to be split. The bread is amazing. I think the best part of this place is the pastries. I tried the guava and cream cheese filled one and there were massive chunks of cream cheese. It was incredible. I also tried one with chocolate coating and what I think was Bavarian cream on the inside. It was a long tunnel shaped pastry- also delicious. This place was close to where we were staying. I'm sad I didn't discover it earlier to walk here every morning and grab a pastry.
I would definitely suggest checking this place out if you're looking for an easy breakfast/lunch. read more
