For my lifelong friend's 50th birthday this weekend, her mother-in-law ordered a huge rectangular chocolate cake with multiple layers of cake and different chocolate frostings. It was absolute perfection. As someone who prides himself on good food & desserts, this was hands down the most delicious chocolate cake I've ever had worldwide thus far in my 45 years of life. I especially prefer chocolate cake when its not too heavy or dense or cream-laden, and this was exactly it. The multiple cake layers were perfectly moist & fluffy while the frosting layers were perfectly delicate & relatively light yet flavorful & substantial, in perfect proportions. Recently we came here to buy a cake for a special occasion like usual and we've never had an issue until our recent purchase had a fuzzy moldy strawberry on it. I found it crazy how though it was already visibly moldy, they still decided to place the strawberry there rather than not replacing it with a fresh strawberry. Lady on the phone said it wouldn't contaminate the cake but mold spreads quickly. We asked for a refund and was only given a $5 dollar discount on the next purchase. To mention, the lady said it could have been because we didn't store it in the fridge and eventually got moldy... we had it in the fridge and strawberries don't mold in the span of 2 days. We've had left strawberries outside in the fridge before and they were still fresh in the span of two days... read more

If I could give 10 out of 5 stars, I would. This is my go-to bakery for every occasion when I need a cake. The cake is light and moist; the frosting is light and not unbearably sweet. I needed a full sheet cake, so chose half of it to be triple chocolate and the other half was fruit basket. Since it was such a large cake, I didn't have a freezer large enough, and it wouldn't be served for a few hours after I picked it up, they put it in the freezer for me after it was baked and decorated. It was completely thawed out by the time I served it a few hours later and perfect to serve. My guests were absolutely delighted with the cake and some even came back for seconds. read more

Beautiful and tasty desserts. It seems like they use whipped cream as the filling for a few things that should be more custard type filling, such as key lime pie tarts and fruit tarts. At first I thought it was a workaround for a last minute order but we ordered in plenty of time and the filling was still whipped cream. They actually made my wedding cake (over 10 years ago now) and captured all the details we wanted. They've been so accommodating over the years and we've become regulars. Pros: Esther is real friendly and always captures all of the details of my requests. Every year I get a custom made birthday cake from them with different themes. Divine Desserts is amazing! We purchased our wedding cake and an additional gluten free (nut free) chocolate decadence cake from here. They were wonderful! We worked with Esther. She went over our cake options and we tried out a sample flavor box. We ended up choosing the Strawberry Champagne flavor. Esther also worked with me on the designs. After looking over cakes Divine Desserts had made in the past, I reviewed other online photos of wedding cakes and sent her an email with cake ideas. We talked it over by phone. She then made us a beautiful wedding cake, and it was ready at the specified time we requested. The cake was elegantly decorated and tasty. If I had to recommend a place for making a wedding or birthday cake, this would be it! Thank you so much Esther for our beautiful cake! And in other thoughts, the chocolate decadence cake was also a big hit! We had guests with a gluten allergy and they all loved the chocolate cake (that cake was gone pretty quick because everyone, gluten-sensitive or not, was stealing a slice). Divine Desserts can be a little hard to reach sometimes when they are busy, but they are worth the wait. We will certainly be back in the future for another cake. First time trying, on this visit I got the triple chocolate cake and an apple danish. Everything was pretty amazing, the only thing was that the pastry part of the dish tasted a little bit dry, perhaps was sitting in the case for a while which would make sense because I got there end of the day. So that's probably less on them as delicate pastry doesn't stay perfectly fresh all day. But it was still delicious, and the prices are very fair. They close at five so be aware of that, they are a little hidden off of horseshoe bar across from the Raleys. It's actually the little street right across from the new Starbucks. But if you are a chocolate lover, my goodness that cake was moist and there is chocolate mousse and chocolate ganache on top, it's not the biggest slice but it definitely was a winner. The display case proudly showcases their elegant array of desserts which you can almost taste by glaring at them. Each one looks flawless and tasty. For example, the apricot pastries use real full slices of apricots on them. Many places use an apricot jelly, but not this place. They also have a variety of cheesecake here and THEY.ALL.LOOK.GOOD.
