Bought Cassava kakanin, chicken siopao, spinach feta pastry, apple turnover, lumpia and senorita bread. All good, not earth shaking great. I've eaten a lot of Pinoy food, so I'm not a complete dayuhan (stranger). I love lumpia. These are pretty oliy compared to the 1,000's I've had over the past 50 years that were made by Filipino grandmas. Prices are average. This is my favorite bakery whenever I come to Sacramento or more specifically Roseville. Just 1.5 miles (5 minutes) from the Douglas Blvd exit and next-door to a Dutch Bros. Family run Pilipino bakery with all of the breads you would expect. Don't miss the seniorita. I have to limit myself to a 25 pc box so I have enough for me and just enough to share. The Barbarian Cream is what I have while I am there with a cup of Americana from next-door. Pro tip, lunch at Asian Cajun, Grab a cup at Dutch Bros and have desert at Starbread all in one stop. After reading the great reviews on Yelp about this Bakery, we decided drive the long distance to give this place a try. When you enter the bakery, the smell of the warm bread is delicious! Too bad the product is not equal to the expectation. The Señorita bread IS served warm but is not tasty at all. In fact has almost not flavor at all, and the portion size is extremely small, almost tiny. Sourdough bread has a better taste even with no butter. Huge disappointment. If you've never had señorta bread, then you are deeply missing out! It is literally heaven in the form of bread. It's always one of the first things to run out when we bring some to events. When eaten warm, the bread roll is super soft and the butter and sugar filling is all melted and seeped into the dough. Fair warning because when it's hot, the sugar can burn your tongue. I try to be patient but it's not easy! The Roseville location is easy to get in and out. Inside they have senorita bread and various other Filipino baked good, desserts and food. Things like flan, empanadas, lumpia, suman, soipao, breads, malasadas and nuts. Everything is delicious and fairly priced. This Starbread Bakery is in a small stripmall by Supercuts, Top Nails, etc. But there is plenty of parking available. The interior is small-ish, so there is no inside seating available. The service is friendly and welcoming! The Senorita Bread comes out warm, hot, and fresh. Slightly sweet and so soft. I agree, these little breads, you could gobble up 3 of them before you even know it! Malasada...I got the coconut filled cream but after eating it realized that it didn't take anything like coconut.
