What has happened to my favorite Panaderia in Woodland, CA?!? I dropped on in for the first time since the pandemic. However a disturbance in the universe has occurred, some of the my favorite cookies have changed in that the taste and textures are different. I bought several of my favorite types of cookies: tricolor polvorones, coconut sugar, and palmiers. They looked so good sitting in the case. The palmiers were delicious it was soft to bite into and all so flaky with a buttery taste and sugary sweet coating. But hold up, the other cookies I bought were hard with a crispy fried taste texture. Very odd. I have been here a bunch of times before, the cookies never tasted like this. They use to be soft, moist with a slight first bite subtle crunch. What has happened? Is it a fluke, an off day? New recipes? I don't know!!?!? Madness. They have lots of other pastries such as cake slices, conchas, custard filled empanadas, apple turnovers, fruit danish, sweet rolls, and other cookies. All sitting pretty in the cabinet. But be aware that there are no prices listed anywhere. And some staff speak better English than others. Other things to note is that the bakery is located in an older part of Woodland. With that being said, I have had no issues coming here by myself. read more

We ordered a full sheet cake for our birthday party last week. D I V I N E. The counter person didn't speak much English, but I was buying on the recommendation of a friend, so I just managed by ordering blind. The cake was a Très leche with a raspberry between the layers. The frosting is some combination of whipped cream and frosting--I wanted to eat it all day. This cake is so delicious EVERYONE at the party wanted a piece and I didn't find any uneaten pieces later. read more

This is by far the best Panaderia in town. If you go in too late, they usually run out of bread and I'm ok with that. That means tomorrow's batch will be freshly made! My plan is to usually eat only one piece, but I end up getting a dozen and eat 5 as soon as I get home. Once you bite into the SOFT AF bread, you're in -There's no coming back. There's another bakery in town that's good, but just a tad too greasy for me, and if you're eating a dozen pieces of pan dulce in 2 days, every calorie counts. They offer Mexican hot chocolate and coffee. They have a little table you can sit and chit chat with each other, but I'm good. Give me some tongs, a charola and I'm good. Everyone, listen up. This little bakery is deliciously wonderful. First of all thank you Yelpers for posting. I've passed by this place tons of time and never knew. The location is not much to look at. It's in a non descript strip mall. It's about a block away from where the churro truck parks. When I rolled into the lot on a Saturday mid-afternoon, there was a fella selling oranges from his pickup. I passed on the oranges and beelined to the bakery. The goodies are lined in a case. You take a round pizza tin and tongs from the front counter and go at it. The lovely woman at the counter was bilingual and very helpful. However the prices weren't marked on the little chalkboard signs, so I had to ask. They have a huge variety of baked goods at reasonable ( some may say cheap ) prices. They also sell coffee and various bottled Mexican sodas/fruit drinks. There is 1 little bistro size table and a couple of chairs, if you want to sit. They take cash and credit card ( 50 cent surcharge). read more

This is my first time at a Mexican bakery and I had a great experience. At 7:30am on a Wednesday, there were only a few customers in the bakery. They have a clear cabinets filled with tons of pastries and I saw them wheeling out more racks of fresh pastries in the back. They had a huge variety of cookies and sweet bread, including multiple types of concha. They had everything you would expect from a Mexican bakery and more. You pick up a large pizza pan and tongs from the front and start grabbing whichever baked goods you want to buy. I wasn't sure what to get but I got a pink concha. It was my first time trying a concha and it wasn't what I expected. I expected it to be more similar to the Chinese pineapple bun. The concha was a little denser and the topping was lightly sweetened and crumbly. It would pair really nicely with a cup of coffee in the morning or as an afternoon snack. We ended up getting 4 items (3 conchas and 1 cuerno) for only $3.20 total! I'll definitely be back to try more types of pan dulce. read more

Through a quick yelp search near UC Davis, i was able to find Panaderia Mana, they had great reviews and they were all correct. Adela took my order arranged for delivery (which is not their norm) but after letting Adela know that I was in San Diego and could not pick up she was able to accommodate my wish. In my opinion this is the best tasting softest pan dulce in town. I love this Quaint place hidden in this plaza. When I crave me some pan or want to treat my coworkers I will come by at 6:45 and grab me some sweet Mexican bread. It always smells so good and the owners are super friendly. A good mexican bakery that sells pan dulce is hard to find. Even in So Cal where I am from. So when I moved to Davis and found this little gem in Woodland, the next town over, I was impressed! They have a great selection of all the mexican bread you could think of, conchas, empanadas with different filling, puerquitos (little pigs) etc. Their prices aren't too bad either, 60 or 70 cents a piece. They also have other goodies like cinnamon rolls and and they sell flan by the half sheet. Also the people here are so nice, just beware, they mainly speak spanish so brush up on your espanol. Don't forget to take a calendar home with you for your cocina. I love this bakery, and I will miss it when I move back to so cal. read more

My mom ordered two cakes, one for me and one for my twin brother to celebrate our birthday on the 31st. My cake was supposed to be a tres leches cake. It was a dry and rancid cake what we received. I was really looking forward to having a great slice of cake since it was my birthday. But we were utterly disappointed. My brother's cake tasted better and it also seemed like it was recently made unlike mine. My cake tasted old, rancid, and dry. Next year, we will be getting our cake from Ettore bakery. Absolutely delicious and the selection is massive. She has everything I can think of and more. We have a big family and stopped here to stock up for World Cup match mornings. We couldn't resist and ended up getting so many that we'll have to freeze some - three stuffed bags + one each to eat on the spot. I've been going here for over five years to get my Mexican pastry fix. They have a wide assortment of pastries. It is self serve with tongs and pizza pans here. I always buy some rolls as well. They sell locally made tortillas at a better price than the grocery store. Most employees speak very little English but are very friendly and easy to deal with. read more

The handful of times in my life when I've had Mexican baked goods, they were dry so I assumed Mexican pastries were suppose to be dry - so I wasn't a fan. This Panaderia had a great selection, and the shop smelled amazing. First impressions, particularly when they were reinforced many times, can be hard to change, so I had my suspicion even as I piled baked goods onto the tray. Grab a tray and tongs at the front counter and pull your freshly baked goods out of the case that lines the wall. The prices and the names of stuff are not posted, but the baker is friendly and will tell you if you ask politely. If you go too early (like 6 am) they don't have everything baked.
