The service was great, you will definitely have to wait. This is more of neighborhood staple. Pancakes were good and portions were decent for the cost. Problem was parking lot and condition of restaurant really dated and how is the restroom out of order. We are visiting from another state. If I go again will be strictly take out.

First, I have to mention that Pancakes N Things only accepts cash, so be prepared for that. Also, be ready to wait a bit for a table, as they stay busy. But in my experience, it's absolutely worth the wait. The staff is friendly, the seating is comfortable, and the food is amazing. My girlfriend and I ordered the gyro, and my grandmother had the fried flounder fish sandwich with soup. The gyro was great, and my grandmother loved her fried flounder sandwich and soup. Pancakes N Things is an amazing family-owned restaurant and a local favorite. The prices are reasonable, and the atmosphere has such a great vibe--it feels like everyone knows each other. If you're in the Chesapeake area, I highly recommend checking them out. Their hours are Monday through Saturday, 7 AM - 2:30 PM, and Sunday, 7 AM - 1:30 PM.

I have never had a bad meal here and had to make sure I stopped by before leaving town. Everything is always fresh and flavorful and you cannot beat the value! I'd def recommend coming early on a Sunday or you can do a to go order. The service is always great and Ashley was a pleasure on Sunday! This is great for couples, small groups, and solo dining. The biggest thing to know is they are a cash only establishment.

Food was amazing. Service was excellent. When we are back in Virginia we will make sure that we stop there again.

Cash Only! Just wanted to mention that first, but if you don't there is a teller inside that you're able to use. The decore is plain, but the service is great! It's a local favorite. And the portions they serve are huge. The menu is so vast, which is great. I don't think they left anything out when it comes to breakfast! I ordered one of their seafood speacial "shrimp combo" The shrimps where nice and big not over fried with 2 eggs , hashbrowns and toast. I'm a bacon lover, so had to order my side of bacon. If your not looking for fancy, but want a good big hearty breakfast. This is the place. I do recommend coming early as parking gets full, but there is an over flow parking across the street. I herd the biscuit is delicious, so definitely will be back!

The staff was friendly and the food was delicious! I had the catfish and it was seasoned well and perfectly fried. My only issue with my visit was our waitress. She seemed older so I tried to be understanding, but she did a poor job of taking care of our needs while we were there. From start to finish we had to stop someone else and ask for things. Not good. Other than that, it was a great visit.

Croaker breakfast. Usually 2 large croakers this was 3 nice size.

Pancakes N Things is a consistently good food family-owned restaurant! There's a variety of menu options from classic breakfast to seafood breakfast and so much more. Even the coffee is hot, not strong enough for me, but it's hot, so that's a plus. The service is excellent. It's family-oriented, and everyone is always willing to make you feel welcome. The ambiance is a little outdated, but this is a family-owned establishment that has been around for many, many, many years and will stand the test of time against these commercial restaurants.

My leftover food that I couldn't finish. French toast, bacon, and syrup to go.

This place is still amazing. I used to go here with the dentist that I used to work for for lunch back in 2008 2009. The food is still excellent. The service is outstanding and since I've been here last, they've updated the decor. It is definitely people proof and so much for you to I have to take the leftovers home

Second time here and this time came with a friend whom I gladly recommended this place; and she thoroughly enjoyed it. There was a wait around 15 to 20 minutes, but was worth it. Got coffee (free refills for $2.95) and steak omelet with provolone cheese (charged extra) with grits (or potato hash) and toast (or biscuit). Service was friendly. Just remember to bring cash since they don't accept credit card or check. They have an ATM in an alcove by the entrance. You pay $2 ATM fee but they refund the $2 if your bill is at least $20. Btw always packed and hard to find parking in their lot but you can park in the lot next McDonald's across the street.

This diner is a hidden gem. The decor is simple and fitting. The staff was wonderful. We ordered our food and it was brought to us promptly and hot. Absolutely DELICIOUS! It can get busy so there may be a slight wait but there is a long bench for you to sit on. They also have an ATM- keep in mind, they only accept cash. We both had breakfast and I look forward to going back and trying the lunch.

The waitress who helped us was incredibly nice and took the time to answer all of my questions. Unfortunately, my excitement was cut short when I went to order the #6 breakfast special and found out the fried rice was pre-made with ham, and there was no option to get it without meat. Since the fried rice was out, I pivoted and ordered the #1 Special: 2 eggs (requested soft scrambled with cheese) 2 pieces of bacon (asked to hold the bacon) White toast Home fries Side order: Egg rolls to go The execution of breakfast was pretty disappointing. The eggs weren't soft scrambled, the cheese on top wasn't melted, and the home fries were very hard. To top it off, the whole plate came out at room temperature. I didn't make a fuss or send it back because it's a small, family-owned restaurant and they clearly have a lot of loyal regulars who love them. Overall Verdict: Breakfast Food: 5/10 Egg Rolls: 7/10 The service alone makes it worth giving them another shot. While breakfast wasn't a hit for me, I would definitely return to give their lunch menu a try.

My wife ordered the Chicken Salad Wrap with a side of onion rings, and she thoroughly enjoyed her meal. The onion rings arrived piping hot with just the right amount of seasoning, perfectly crisp and absolutely delicious. The Chicken Salad Wrap was fresh, flavorful, and every bit as satisfying. I ordered my favorite sandwich on the menu: a BLT with scrambled egg and Pepper Jack cheese on sourdough bread. It comes loaded with a generous portion of perfectly crispy bacon, which is always a treat. The lettuce and tomato were garden fresh, and every ingredient came together beautifully. Needless to say the food was so good, pics proved to have zero chance. Sooo after a rough week, a Saturday late morning breakfast was calling for a much needed downtime to sit and enjoy... and well here we go: Some say happiness in a bottle, I say Happiness in a glass! Their iced praline mocha is soooo good! The right balance of mocha and coffee, not overly sweet but enough to give you a pick me up while enjoying their amazing food! Next time must try their lavender latte or pistachio... but gotta get it before 5/31 as it's available for a limited time! Definitely recommend the brekki bowl with cheese grits and fried chicken! You will not be disappointed. Cheese grits like "buhhhttah" without the oily and maybe the calories?! But honestly, so flavorful and creamy without the guilty feeling for having something that tastes so good. The veggies are fresh and perfectly cooked to give you great texture contrast. And let me tell you about their fried chicken!! Chefs kiss! Moist, flavorful lightly breaded chicken fried to perfection that had a slight kick for this girl. In full disclosure black pepper is spicy for me so take that with a grain of salt. And for those of you like me that believe there is never too much salt and add salt to your salt but need to cut that bad habit... this whole dish is the perfect amount of salt. I literally never had to add just a little more. The goat cheese crumbles gave each bite the little extra tah-dah pop that might have been otherwise gotten had you like me added a few more shakes of salt to the dish. Seriously though, if you are watching to slowly cut back on having to add salt to your food, this dish is for you! The service was great and everyone was friendly and hustling! This place is the best for a quick sit down or a group brunch. I saw a table of like 10 menly bros enjoying a huge selection of food, drinks, and catching up. Really awesome to see that as the next few tables were a mix of families with and without kids, in laws, aunts and uncles just coming together for amazing food, great and accurate service, and overall fantastic experience ina random Saturday morning!

Shoutout to our waitress, who was incredibly kind, patient, and attentive. I'm currently being mindful of my blood pressure, and she made sure my food was prepared without added salt with zero attitude and full care. That level of service really stood out! The omelet was flavorful without being overwhelming, the fruit was fresh, and the sweet potato pancakes still hit without all the extras; soft, comforting, and perfectly cooked.
