Last time I came to this Pancheros I had a great experience and the food and customer service was good. However, after visiting today I was very disappointed. The woman with blonde hair, braids with a hat who was taking our order was extremely rude and cold. I asked for lettuce on my burrito and she forgot. I politely reminded her that I had asked for lettuce and she took a handful and practically threw it on like she was having a tantrum. I don't know if all of the employees are bitter and mean but I was not impressed with her attitude. I will never come to this pancheros again. Also, the food was bad and not flavorful at all and reminded me of white-washed Mexican cuisine. And the chips were so stale I ended up throwing them away. Qdoba and pancheros were first on my search list, since we had tried qdoba and was closer to pancheros we decided to give it a try. Upon entering the establishment it was just like chipotle or qdoba with similar menu options. We was not so pleasantly greeted by the man taking the orders and I thought "oh well, everyone has an off day". However, the trend continued down the entire line, was they all having a bad day? This is basically like Chipotle but not as good in my opinion. It was pretty good though. My kids loved the tacos. I got a salad, the lettuce is just shredded iceberg, nothing special. I do like that they have tofu as an option, it was pretty good, a tad salty and it had some spice. The guac was okay but the fajita veggies were good. I've been here many times in the past. It's not the greatest, but at least it's clean, unlike QDoba. This time, however, there was a guy serving that was absolutely disgusting. After following the recommendations from the corporate website and the employees she ordered and paid for her "gluten free meal". Now she is sick from the gluten in the meat. i love the food it's an amazing place to go to but the service with an older man is quite awful. he is always in a bad mood and tries to charge extra when you don't get extra stuff, an example is he tries to charge for guac or queso when you didn't get any. it's very inconvenient and in my opinion unprofessional. i do like everyone else there. they are always very nice. I'd like to start off by saying that I have been coming to this Pancheros since I was in high school- so about 8 years now. I have never once had a bad experience before today. I am in Rapid City visiting from my college town which I now live, and was excited to eat at Pancheros because it has been one of my favorite places for such a long time. After today I don't think I will be coming back. The employees were rude. I didn't catch her name but there was one woman with blonde hair, braids, and a hat, who felt it was necessary to comment on the size of the burrito that had been ordered. She was cold and rude the entire time we were ordering, despite us being patient and friendly. The owner, who has previously been extremely kind and helpful over the past years, was also rude and disrespectful. We were going to eat our meal in the restaurant, but after experiencing such horrible customer service- and to be honest lack of human decency- we decided to pack it up and eat at home. I told the owner I didn't think it was appropriate for his employees to be criticizing and commenting on customers' orders, and all he had to say was "Thank you for letting me know". There was no apology. Lastly, our burritos had very little flavor and our chips were stale. Overall, this is 100% the worst experience I have had at Pancheros and am extremely disappointed because it used to be one of my favorite places to eat. read more

We like this place! It's your basic burrito joint, similar to Qdoba or Chipotle. The tortillas are made when you order, which is a nice touch. The salsas are all good, and so are the beans and the rice. All of the ingredients are fresh and well seasoned. The guacamole is especially good. For awhile, they offered a "Greek burrito" with lamb and tzatziki sauce, which sounds off the wall, but it was GOOD. Portion sizes are huge, like any of those burrito places. Reasonable people will split a burrito (ha!). My kids love this place. They don't have a kids' menu visible, but will make a kids' quesadilla or a half-sized "baby burrito" upon request. My kids like that they can pick exactly what they want. I like that they have outdoor seating, so when the weather is good, I can sit outside, and let my wild children run around on the lawn without disrupting anyone's meal. The staff is a bit...colorful (read: heavily tattooed), but always very friendly and accomodating to special requests. They offer a military discount, which is always a plus, and a stamp card, so you can earn a free burrito if you go often (or bring your family of five, like I do). The food is reasonably priced, quick, fresh, and there are lots of healthy options, especially if you get a burrito bowl or salad, or split a burrito (which are approximately the size of a newborn baby.) read more

Pancheros falls square in the middle of the pan-Tex-Mex (Chipotle, Qdoba) category of restaurants, and my friend and I decided to stop by for a quick lunch on a recent Sunday since we don't have this chain where I live, so I figured it would be somewhat different. If you like the aforementioned "large burrito" joints, you'll love Pancheros, though be warned, "spicy" mean spicy here. I ordered a chicken burrito which was assembled piecemeal where I could choose my fillings (rice, beans, salsas, etc.) and it was very good. I asked for the tomatillo salsa in my burrito which was unexpectedly spicy, but overall everything tasted great. My friend had the veggie quesadilla which she said was good too. Service was friendly and this restaurant has ample seating inside and a nice patio outside for when the weather is fair. Worth a stop if you're in the mood for a quick, filling meal. read more

Portion size was good but I felt they were a little skimpy on the cheese. The tortilla shells were grilled which made them way better. As I have mentioned, I have an affinity for this type of food. This is probably somewhere in a 3.5 star range, but it is a welcome Midwestern change from the intensity that is Chipotle (blackorpintobeanswhatkindofmeatcheesesourcreamwhatkindofsalsaisthatall!!?!?!!????!?). They press and toast the tortillas fresh when you walk in the store and mix up the ingredients of your burrito, both of which give it major points ahead of other counter style Mexican food. My biggest complaint is how the rice tastes... It is straight up Uncle Ben's. It tastes like it should be served with homestyle roast beef rather than inside a burrito. It makes the whole thing so weird! Some kind of cilantro pesto really makes this place worthwhile, however. I'm not sure what it is intended to go on, but you should just put it on everything. I always pick Panchero's. my fav to order is the bean and rice bowl (I don't eat these sort of place's meat - I'm finicky like that. My family gets the meats, all of them and they love them!) What a really great place! This place will give Taco Bell a run for it's money. This is a fast food place. The tortillas are made right in front of your face! And boy, are they delicious! Great option for gluten free eaters. They don't have corn tortillas but you can get a burrito bowl similar to Chipotle.
