    Looking forward to hanging out..

Margarita's are always the BOMB!! Our waiter was quick, fast, and awesome... The food is also good, the environment is clean. Can't wait until the summer to sit on the patio for margarita day.

Excellent service with fresh produce and hot food served right to the table! We love that Luis is back! The surrounding atmosphere is fun and full of happy faces!

What they call "Bean and cheese burritos" -_- not at all what we wanted and we've eaten here before.

My family and I have eaten here before and we've been satisfied until now. We ordered dinner for 5 for pick up on the way home from a road trip and what we opened up in our Togo boxes was just disappointing. This is NOT at all what we have ever gotten when we ordered a Bean and Cheese Burrito. This was absolutely disgusting to eat and unfortunately two of us had to since we couldn't take it back to the restaurant. I'm so upset and the worst part is I'm pregnant and this was so gross to eat, I actually feel sick from it. :( I called to make sure the "cheese" was pasteurized and it took a couple people to finally find out (they read the bag).

First impression was it should be fine, it turned out to be better then fine. Started off with the chips and salsa, they were fresh not greasy and had just enough salt to to be perfect. The red salsa served with them was mild and it was also fresh and cold. So I know it was kept in a cooler and served to me fresh. Sweet Tea was on point, Wow perfect amount of sugar not too much or not enough. It was excellent and my server always kept it full. Ordered the Beef and Chicken Quesadilla with salad and an order of rice and beans. The quesadilla was huge, I mean mega huge. I am a husky man and I only ate 1/2 of it. So damn amazing. Flavors on the beef and chicken were not overpowering and cheese, peppers and onions were cooked perfectly. Tortilla feels homemade and was so soft and tasty. Tomatoes were fresh and salad had no brown leaves or spots anywhere. Very nice presentation. Rice was a bit lite on flavor, nice texture, good amount of vegetables. Beans were probably the only thing that did not meet up to par, they seemed a bit watery and not seasoned with enough spice or even bacon grease. Overall the food gets a 8.5 out of 10. I dined on the patio and this is where the attention needs to be addressed. The patio is a beautiful area, but has bird crap all over chairs, floors and ledge. This doesn't make for a very inviting time to enjoy your meal. Chairs not set up under tables and dirty plates left on tables let for birds to come and eat off tables and plates. They need to power wash this deck in order to get people out here and enjoy the patio. There was also no music on the patio, so all you were listening to was the engines of the cars on the freeway. Rating on patio 1 out of 10, very poor. I will try this place again and hopefully next time it will have a cleaner patio.

Pretty standard cheap Mexican food. I enjoy their chips and queso. Service is pretty good. I've never had to wait even on Cinco De Mayo. The restaurant is decorated like most other cheap Mexican restaurants. They do have a small amount of outdoor seating right in front of the parking lot, so I would suggest eating inside.

Shrimp & Scallops Fajitas were delicious and the Mango Margarita was yummy!!! Just passing thru from up North...well worth it!

From queso to quesadillas, fish tacos to birria...Pueblo Viejo has all the classics combined with a few house specialties. I usually go with the classic arroz con pollo, but decided to switch it up and go with the Quesadilla El Rey, which featured grilled chicken, cheese, mushrooms and onions, sided with rice. The quesadilla was delicious, well cooked and packed with the goods! Of course before the main, I started with a small queso. The queso was bland and a bit thick for my liking. The complimentary salsa was also nothing special. They both got the job done, but were just okay. The space is small, one large dining room featuring a variety of table setups along with a small bar in the back corner. No frills space, which is duplicated in their food. Service was friendly and timely. Place was clean and well kept. Overall, Pueblo Viejo is a solid 3.5 for me. Happy to go back and enjoy a meal, but wouldn't go out of my way for it.

That was in the pre Covid times & place made me remember how great that it was having a Mexican lunch buffet nearby. The inside of the restaurant is simple, clean, and the staff are very attentive. There was a note on the door that said their last day at that location will be May 17 and there is a for lease sign in the parking lot. They said they are going to relocate in the area & I hope so. because we cannot afford to lose another Mexican lunch buffet spot. We've already sacrificed so much as a society in the name of progress, but we must retain our access to queso dip via a daily lunch buffet or what is the point of all of this?

While nothing has Plaza Mexican stand out from other Mexican restaurants in the area, I do enjoy my visits here. Food is good, my go-to is usually enchiladas with rice and taco or the classic cheesy chicken and rice. Basic, yes...tasty, also yes! Queso to start each meal is also a requirement. I have enjoyed dine -in and on occasion take out. Both end with a full belly and happiness. Service is decent. It honestly ranges, where I have had great service to not so great service. Nothing ever bad enough to call it quits, but enough to sense something is off. The space is well laid out with copious amounts of booth and table seating. Well maintained and clean. Parking is no issue due to their location in the center. May not get a front row spot, but you have a whole lot to cruise around and find parking. Overall, I am a fan of Plaza Mexican. I went with the chicken fajita enchiladas because I had never seen that on a menu before, I was expecting enchiladas filled with fajita style chicken and veggies but what arrived was even better! Two cheese enchiladas covered in red sauce and cheese, topped with perfectly cooked chicken (I love when chicken has little crispy bits), and fajita style veggies. On the side was guacamole, sour cream, pico, lettuce, and rice. It was perfect! You could make every bite a perfect bit this way and it really helped the chicken shine (plus I feel like you got more chicken and veggies this way)! When I reheated some the next day and the cheese got super melty inside the enchilada it was even better - I imagine fresh it would have topped both ways I had it! I also ordered an à la carte chimichanga because the pictures online looked great! It was stuffed with shredded chicken that was well seasoned and flawlessed wrapped tight and topped with cheese sauce/cheese dip! It was still crispy, but fresh I bet it would have been even crispier! It was a solid chimichanga. I will say that the rice lacked a little flavor for my taste, but honestly everything else was such a slam dunk I was okay with it! The order also came with 2 cups of salsa and an overflowing bag of chips. The salsa was as expected, which is fine by me. It was great that even with to go orders they still gave free chips and salsa. This place is solid, I liked that some of the menu items are more unique that other similar spots, and I have a lot of respect for a place that the food still taste great after being delivered AND when it needs to be reheated!

They have several other locations around the city, and this is my second or third location I have visited of the brand. They are consistent, as my experiences across the brand seem to be similar. We have eaten weekend lunch and dinner at this location, and even had take-out on occasion. I will say over the years, the food quality at this location has seen improvement, which is nice to notice. For lunch and dinner, my go to is usually their house variation of Arroz con Pollo, but they amp it up a bit as the LP Special, which adds fajita veggies and second protein, but I usually just double up the chicken. My partner always goes quesadilla or burrito, specifically the fajita burrito. While we have not tried it, it is cool that they now offer their burritos in bowls, so for those low carb foodies! We always start our meal with queso, because it is just the rules. Queso is standard, nothing special. The space is well kept, has seen updates over the years and is clean when we visit.
