Before the pandemic we used to get some really good food here. This place was never lacking for business. The food was good and they had a nice variety for the buffet. I used to call and ask when they would have dine-in open again and was always told they can't get help to work but I'm not sure I believe that anymore. I think it's easier for them to do take-out and they don't have any intention of opening dine-in again. We prefer the dine-in because you can't everything offered for take-out. My first visit to Panda Buffet. As some others have said, it is no longer a buffet and it take out only. No indoor seating. But if you don't mind calling in an order and waiting a bit, you won't be disappointed. The food was excellent. The spring rolls- Oh!!! I could make a meal of them. The entrees we got were both exceptional. The young lady at the front counter was running herself ragged, but was very pleasant and professional. Things get backed up in their small waiting area, if someone comes in and orders at the counter. So if you want things to go more quickly, call your order in. Pre-Covid, this was a place that had wonderful food in a buffet format. Lunch could be purchased for an excellent price. Post-Covid, food can only be bought on a take-out basis, and so you lose the pleasure of being able to enjoy a variety of foods. Panda buffet has the best food around! We tried several dishes. Beef and broccoli, sweet and sour chicken, chicken skewers, chicken fried rice, crab Rangoon, and egg rolls. The portions were hefty and each dish was delicious and clearly prepared using very fresh ingredients. We will definitely be back to support this quality business! read more

Of all the Chinese restaurants in E-town this is by far the best place to go. There tends to be a longer wait (especially on Friday and Saturday) but it is worth the wait!!!! Never had a bad meal here and it's always fresh. read more

We always order here and we pay cash and they give you a discount. We always get 6 combo platters and they usually remember the 6 we order. Food is always good. I ordered here recently and the entire event read like a Saturday Night Live skit. The fact that I was mildly entertained, will keep me coming back, on a rare to, need basis. I call close to open and no answer. Call back at 11:30 and was met with "can you hold" into the waiting music for a few minutes. I'm calm. The counter lady picks up "can I help you?" Yes I'd like a takeout order. I'll take a large pepper/// "Can you hold"...music..she put me on hold for a second time within one call ...fuming, patiently waiting..she picks back up , okay. I proceed to give the order, and she chimes in yet again "can you hold?" Which I countered with "GIRL C'MOM!!" Which she reacted "I'm sorry, I'm sorry , you first!" Then damn put me on hold again! Lmao .it was too much. She of course had to ask on the phone if I will be paying with cash, because "it will be easier"...yeah it will be easier for you at the end of year when tax time rolls around.. Within one call I was put on hold three times, so she could take others. I arrived and waiting outside because the pandemic waiting area is now a 6 foot square box. My order wasn't ready, had to go out to my car and wait till they rung me. The whole fiasco to get basic Chinese take out was 1 hour. Sadly the food was average at best. Thier crab rangoons were a hit. As were the fried dumplings. Appetizers are king here...Entrees need some work. No vegetables in the veg lomein, dry general tsuo, Not bad, not good. Averge at best. We ordered take out and told 45 min So when we came after 1 hr, they never made it due to women taking order. What's her problem with writing a phone number down? When I first walked up to the buffet steam table, I was a little discouraged by number of the selections. It's a small buffet. Although, the small size makes it easier for the staff to keep it well stocked.. The food was hot and fresh. Everything tasted great. I did notice a sign indicating a $15 minimum for use of a credit card. I am reasonably certain this violates their agreement with Visa. I was lucky that I had some cash. read more

Great food, good prices and with the whole COVID mess when you call in they offer a nice service, calling you 10 minutes before your food is ready so you can take it home hot and fresh! They are even up front and ask you to pay with cash because their card machine charges them a fee! This way they can keep their costs down and not raise the price of their great food!! Hands down best Chinese food around. Can be busy at times but food is always worth the wait if it doesn't come out right away. Family ran business which is always a great thing to support. I have favorites here. Although some chicken pieces are more cornstarch than chicken, it's not unlike most Chinese places. Pepper chicken is lightly breaded and well made. Hands down, the BEST Chinese buffet in Central PA!! And I've been to them all. I stopped on a Saturday afternoon because I was in E-Town for a Craigslist purchase. I didn't realize it was almost the end of lunch service, but they treated me like royalty. The waitress kept asking if there was anything I wanted more of because some of the dishes were almost empty on the buffet and asking of everything was warm enough, which it was. I had probably 10 or 12 different items and everything was fantastic. General Tso's was crunchy and flavorful, the boneless pork was moist and tender, crab rangoons were the best I've ever had. I didn't have anything stale or dried out from sitting, despite the time of day (2:20pm) I only wish I lived closer so I could frequent this place. And the price is really reasonable, too. A lot of the buffets in the Hbg. area are more pricy and the food is bland and all tastes the same at them. As far as the guy complaining about 10 minimum on credit cards, the place I work (auto repair shop) has a $50 min. Thank the greedy banks and their "swipe" fees, not the small business owners who have to eat the cost or pass it on. Think about it, if you buy a couple of egg rolls and soup and spend $3.75 and they have to pay a $1.00 swipe fee, they just gave a big chunk of their profit to the bank. read more

I used to come here a lot. They don't have bad food and the place looks alright. I wouldn't say the food is amazing or that you probably couldn't make it better at home. I also can't say that if you're willing to keep driving for another 20 minutes that you wouldn't happen upon a Chinese restaurant that's twice as good. But I can say that I've been going less and less because of the one waitress there (which I always seem to get) out of the two that I've seen working there. The older one is very polite and welcoming, but the younger woman who works out in the front is one of the rudest servers I've ever had. I don't want to sound like I'm nitpicking or like I had one bad experience with her and then came here. This is repeated and hasn't improved over the past year. For some reason she will bring the check over and throw it down on the table while I and others with me are still in the middle of eating. Add that to never being able to make eye contact with her because hers are always rolling to the back of her head. Honestly, at this point, it just seems like she's going out of her way to make the establishment do poorly. I've seen her treat other customers the same way, so it's not as if she has a personal agenda against me. If I was running this business, I would strongly consider getting a replacement for her because no customer wants to be treated like that and then be asked to pay for it. read more

I am new to the area and have been to Panda Buffet 4 times, and each time has the same results: fresh, good tasting food, excellent service, and terrific price. The buffet is not the largest I've ever been to, but there are plenty of choices for me. I took a friend one time and she enjoyed the food and the place as much as I do. Worst dining experience ever. Staff was extremely rude. Kept interrupting my wife and I while we discussed our plan of action. Did not care about customers opinion or attempt to resolve situation ethically. My wife and I had a combined 6 bites of food from the buffet when we decided to leave rather then risk food poisoning. None of the food was hot... At best warm... And yes I can honestly say some was below room temperature. The 6 bites we did take had ZERO flavor. Absolutely gross. The staff argued with us when we explained to them why we were unhappy. Apparently their restaurant can do no wrong. And they are always correct. Not the customer. So rather then not charging us for our 6 bites of food which a normal respectable restaurant would do. They ring us up for two full price buffets and two sodas. My wife tells them flat out were not paying that price. I suggested a compromise of weighing out our plates and charging us by the pound. So at the end of the day they agreed.. I end up paying $8 for 6 bites of food and 1/4 of a glass of soda and leave with my stomach hungry, but now having lost my appetite. So if your looking to lose a few pounds this place might be perfect for you, however I suggest: DO NOT EAT HERE OR BELIEVE ANY POSITIVE REVIEWS.
