GO TO ANOTHER PANDA... trust me, it'll be worth it. To start, I was there for 45 min when I had ordered ahead and already showed up 5 min after my order was supposed to be ready. After asking multiple people around me for their information, I had to finally stop the lady and tell her I needed a pick up order. She proceeded to tell me they were making it for 35 min. The people in line were going faster than the pre-order people and it wasn't just me that was waiting. There were 7 other people waiting over 20 min for the pre-order food. One lady even came in 40 min after her order was supposed to be ready and they still didn't have it done for another 10 min. This is not the first time this has happened at this panda either. To top it all off, when they gave me my food they threw everything in sideways and gave me less food than they normally do. No discount offered, no free drink, no customer service whatsoever. The manager was doing less work than the employees were even and that's probably why they had such horrible service. Until I ordered the family meal. The individual taking my order turns to the young gentleman cook and in the most insensitive way says "don't hate me" "don't kill the messenger" because I needed an extra order of beef and broccoli that he was going to have to cook. Visited this Panda on Gosford 5/17/20, @ 8:15. Excellent customer service and food! Gaby was very friendly and efficient! She took our order, asked about drinks and condiments and got us taken care of quickly and accurately. Thank you! I ordered the 1/2 white rice, 1/2 chow mein, mushroom chicken, beef broccoli and spring eggs rolls to share. My hubby ordered the chow mein, honey walnut shrimp, sweet fire chicken breast and the chicken teriyaki with a medium coke. Everything, everything was excellent! Food was hot, tasted fresh, mushrooms were firm, but cooked, zucchini and broccoli were fresh as well, and the proteins were all on point! My wife and I came back to this Panda location hoping that they were going to improve on their cleanliness and I found something worse! After walking in I immediately noticed that there was 2 firefighters in line. They were the 6th and 7th customers in line with about 5 to 6 people already ordering. None of the employees offered to let them go first even though they might have to leave at any minute. After standing there for about 20 minutes, the firefighters left for a call and did not even get a chance to order. When I got to the front of the line I asked one employee why they don't let firefighters and other emergency personnel go first. She said, "they are on a break so they can wait". I then asked the manager who said "they should have come up and said something themselves." This, to me and my wife, was unbelievable. I could not understand how an establishment like Panda Express can hire people with so little respect for the individuals who fight to protect us every day. Overall their food is good. Their customer service can be improved dramatically. I have ordered ahead and arrived 5 minutes late and my food is still not ready, or employees ignore online customers, when they should be attended before walk ins. They have also gotten a lot of my orders wrong, that are listed below. It almost ruins your meal, and if you order delivery or your already home. You're not going to want to drive back to the store wait another 20 minutes, and drive back home. This review is mainly based off of the service from Briana. I was second in line and watching her interaction with the lady in front of me. The customer in front of me was on the phone getting an order from whoever she was talking to. She also was asking for samples, nothing wrong with that since Panda has always let you sample before you buy. I was watching Briana roll her eyes, huff and puff and look extremely irritated. The whole time I'm thinking it's because the phone situation. Nope!! My turn now and she continues with her eye rolling and rude faces. So because of that I continued to ask for samples. Finally I said "you don't look so happy, are we not suppose to ask for samples?" She then rudely says "you can try whatever you want" still nasty attitude radiating off of her. The Honey Walnut Chicken and Chow Mein was almost empty so I told her I wanted to wait for fresh. She again didn't look thrilled. I was then moved down the line to Kaylonie, she was pleasant, polite and helpful. Complete opposite of Briana. I give 5 stars to Kaylonie, 4 stars for the food. Dining room and soda area looked clean. Nothing negative about that. One bathroom has caution tape across it, so they are using the other one as gender neutral. Management needs to do a better job of training their employees about the importance of being POLITE and CORDIAL when asking patrons to wear their mask properly. I visited this establishment today, wearing my mask, and when placing my order, my mask fell below my nose (unintentionally) this particular employee was EXTREMELY rude about it. Do not order online from this location! During the COVID pandemic it's almost necessary but it's unfortunate that this location seems to use old dry food to fulfill your order. We ordered 2 plates and two bowls, all servings of rice were extremely dry as were the noodles. I ordered two 2 entree meals. We had not been to Panda Express lately and was very pleased with how full the orders were. Almost double from the last time. My favorite Bejing beef was spiced just right. Had the Angus steak with mushrooms, sweet pepper and onions was very tender and also spiced just right. Lately, I've been noticing that Panda's chow mein has been super dry, as if it's been out for a good minute. I've been noticing it at this location and the new Merle Haggard location. I'm not sure what it is, but it makes me sad because I LOVE me some chow mein! I will say that the service here was quick and friendly. We got in and out in about 10-15 minutes tops (2 other families ahead of us). Living in SW Bakersfield, this location is the one I prefer since it's right by Starbucks (you know how girls are with their Starbucks, haha). Employees are always very nice and accommodating. On 10/10/2020 at 3:57PM, the lady at the lady at the register with the name "ALEX" on her name tag was EXTREMELY RUDE. I am a senior citizen who took my 2 grandchildren for a dinner treat. I noticed that Alex had a frown on her face. She didn't greet me and never smiled. During the transaction of the 3 bowls that I ordered, she asked for my drink order, to which I responded, "Waters, please." She said, Bottled?". I said, "No. Just from your drink fountain." Without another word she handed me my receipt and walked off. She walked to the drink fountain and handed me one cup of water. Me: "Can I please have 2 more waters?" Alex responded defensively and angrily: "Well you didn't say you wanted 3!" And she walked off. She came back and I told her I didn't appreciate her rudeness. Alex: Sorry you feel that way, but you should've ordered 3 waters.!" Me: It's obvious that if I ordered 3 bowls for the 3 of us, we would need 3 drinks." Alex: Like I said, you should've ordered 3. It's not my fault you didn't tell me what you wanted! I can't read your mind." With that she handed me the 2 waters, and very rudely and stand-offish said, "Sorry you're having a problem!", and stormed off back to the register. All I wanted was for her to acknowledge her rudeness with her disrespectful offensive remarks and bad tone of voice she used toward me and apologize for her actions, but she didn't. I was absolutely appalled at how horrible your front line workers treat your customers. I have been patronizing your place of business since you opened up and have never had a problem with any one if your employees until yesterday, 10/1/2020. I was deeply offended by Alex. As a result of this incident, I will no longer be patronizing your Panda Express on Gosford, despite your food being very delicious. The food was delicious, the portions were great, they put tons of condiments and fortune cookies in the bags for us, and they even provided nice plates, utensils, and serving utensils.
