Found plastic in my chow mein

Food was okay until plastic was found in my daughter's chow mein. Need to do better at making sure nothings gets in the food

Food when I brought it home

This is why I am going back to an actual local Chinese food establishment. Panda Express did not fill it past the bottom part of the container. The Chinese food spot in Ming Plaza gives so much more.

It is rare when my food from Panda is not great! The 3 stars are only for the food! The only complaint is the flow of the line and the workers. I'm sure others would agree. They have people waiting for their food on the side by the cashier, people are entering being served, waiting to pay, people are still entering, waiting to be served, then phone orders. It makes you wonder who is in charge.

My child got 1 tablespoon of protein and not the big spoon they serve with. I get it is the cub meal but my daughter was finished with 2 bites!

Even though Panda doesn't have some of their original options, I'm still a fan. I remember back in the day when there was only 1 Panda Express in Bakersfield located in the mall and it was the place to go for Chinese food. Now it's literally in every corner popping up like Starbucks. This is the closest drive-thru location for me so it's a plus. There's one even closer by Walmart, but sometimes I don't feel like getting down, so this location seems like a good option. This location is new so just like any new facility it looks really nice and clean inside. Staff seems to be okay. They seem rushed. The only downside about this place is that every time I have visited, there's always a shortage. Some days there's no more rice or certain items are finished. Since this is a common issue here you would think they would stock up more, but maybe because it's a new location they are still trying to figure out their issues.

Terrible pick up experience I waited at the side for like 10 minutes and no one helped me I could of just went to the food line and said I had a pick up order and I would of got it quicker and that's exactly what I did after 10 minutes lol. I get to the front and some other lady asks for my name and I say it and then on top of that she asks me for the phone number like I'm trying to steal my own food or something ??just give me the food bro ur doing too much. Who ever runs this Panda Express please have your front line with common sense and help with pick up orders no one wanted to help me and then once I get helped I'm asked for extra non necessary questions

The menu provides easy-to-choose grab-and-go options, with friendly service greeting me promptly upon my arrival to pick up my food, and the area is kept clean and well-maintained.

Retrain Elva or keep her away from the public. So unprofessional. I called before I came and the employee (male) said they stop making food at 11. We arrive at 10:40 and the line of food was foul, I asked if she could make fried rice and honey walnut shrimp. She said no because there was food on the line, I asked what time they stop making food and she said they ran out of rice and shrimp. Seriously, what a liar.

    A little bit of goodness.

Chop! Chop!!! Get over here for a delicious dinner! Panda has done a fabulous job transitioning into COVID-19 guidelines. It's still a convenient stop if you are craving American Chinese food fresh from the wok. The Food is fresh, it's convenient, and perfect for quick take out! COVID-19: Hours or services may differ due to the current circumstances. I recommend calling the business directly to verify hours and availability. Order online. Service: my experience-each time I stop in-has always been pleasant. Panda's staff is efficient and quick to serve. Tip: This location gets really busy! For fast service-Order online. Pick up and go!

    Small portions.

I love the beautiful old world decor with the dark rich wood and the beautiful murals that they have kept as well. It's so nice to know one of Bakersfield's traditional restaurants has been kept in tact. Tony was our awesome server this evening. We each started with the tasty wonton soup. Warm and soothing with tender wantons & vegetables in as rich broth. We had the sweet and crunchy walnut shrimp, so mouthwatering! We also offered the dumplings in red sauce. My companion ordered the red sauce on the side. I actually prefer the dipping sauce. So we both got to have it our way. If you haven't been lately and are looking for a delicious Chinese meal this is the experience you are looking for.

After we passed the homeless man drinking the green algae water outside, all was good from there. It was 102 degrees when we arrived, and soon as you walked in the delicious cold air hit us. This place is big! Perfect for big groups. We were greeted right away, and our drinks brought to us quickly There are so many options to choose from. I always love a good bowl of sizzling rice soup, so had to get that. My hubby ordered the spicy crispy beef, and I got the coconut shrimp. The crispy beef was so tender and amazing flavor. My shrimp wasn't white cream I expected on the top, it was a different color. I'm not sure why, but I didn't care it was delish. The portions are large, we will be eating the leftovers for a couple days. The owner was so nice, too. Don't let the outside fool you. Go check it out! 8/17/26

After sharing my story about my unfortunate life events friends are there to try to help me feel better. So catching up, laughing and bsn we had a great time. I ordered the rice bowl dinner and specifically told our server that I wanted the soft noodle chicken chow mein that comes with the meal. When my food arrived, it had crunchy noodles instead. I let the server know that this wasn't what I ordered. He seemed confused and told me to keep the plate and that he would bring me a side of chicken chow mein. Since everyone else's food was already at the table, I agreed. The problem is, he never brought it. By the time he returned, he was bringing takeout containers and the bill. I had to remind him that I was still waiting for my chow mein. A minute later, he came back with a small bowl of what appeared to be plain boiled noodles. When I explained that I had ordered chicken chow mein, he told me those were the noodles that go underneath the vegetables. At that point, I was done arguing about it. Unfortunately, the food itself wasn't much better. It was bland and lacked the flavor and quality I remember Rice Bowl having in the past. What disappointed me even more was the way my complaint was handled. I brought the issue to the owner's attention, and I felt my concerns were simply disregarded rather than taken seriously or addressed. Mistakes happen in restaurants, and I understand that, but how management responds to a customer when something goes wrong says a lot about the establishment. Rice Bowl has been a longtime Bakersfield restaurant, and I genuinely remember a time when both the food and service were much better. Based on this experience, it feels like the quality and customer service have declined significantly. We came here to celebrate my mother's birthday and left frustrated and disappointed. Unfortunately, after the poor service, bland food, incorrect order, and the way my complaint was handled by the owner, I will not be returning. I also would not consider hosting another family celebration or event here.

The place is like your standard Chinese takeout restaurant, where you have premade dishes, ready to be served with white rice, fried rice, or chow mein noodles. The menu has standard items such as orange chicken, general, chicken, chicken, teriyaki, honey, walnut, shrimp, honey, chicken, mushroom chicken, and so. They also offer egg rolls, cream, cheese, wontons, and soup. What stands out about this place is that they offer a catering menu, unlike some of the other homegrown Chinese takeout places. The restaurant itself is very clean although had a strong smell of Fabuloso and the tables in the floors were a bit sticky. They have one singular bathroom and it was clean. The person who took my order was very nice, friendly, and professional. She was very eager to give me a taste of the entrées in case I wasn't sure what I wanted to eat and I thought that was very cool. I purchased a bowl with half fried rice and half chow mein, and one entrée. For my entrée chose the honey shrimp. my meal came with a fountain drink so that was good. The entrée is $9.99 however, because I got the shrimp, it was a little bit extra. I wish I had gone when the IG people were there doing their reel... Because my food didn't taste anything like how they described it. The honey shrimp was very tasty and the shrimp was cooked perfectly however, every now and then I would get a huge puffy piece. I was not impressed with the fried rice nor the chow mein. I was expecting it to have a wok-seared flavor, like how it was described by the couple doing the reel on IG. For me, it was very plain, in fact, at one point, I thought the chow mein noodles were spaghetti noodles. While the meal satisfied my hunger, since it was dinner time, I likely will not be going back... Sorry, peeps I still have not found good Chinese food in Bakersfield. I hope you have a different experience, and if you do, enjoy!
