I cant even update a review but I can add more here. They need serious diversity training. I went there 3 days in a row and the same racist innuendo persists. The 1st day, was asked if I knew how much it costs (the menu and prices are right there). Perhaps they thought I couldn't afford it. The 2nd day, I was showed the size of container ( I ordered the same exact thing) Instead of questioning orders, they should be using hand sanitizer between handling parers at the computer and food or handling money and food cartons. Food is ok tastes like any other Panda Express location. My husband and I prefer this location to the one on panama lane since that one seems to always be a mess. went in this evening and ordered a 3 item plate with broccoli beef and a double order of black pepper chicken. I was told that it would be right up. the server led me to believe that the cooks were making it. I was watching the cooks and they were busy but they weren't cooking the black peeper. after waiting for about 5 mins they started making it. Visited 2 days ago on a Friday night. They were busy and had lots of customers in line. I'm giving one star because the chow mein had a strong burned smell and nasty burnt taste and, when I got home, I discovered they didn't give me the egg rolls I paid for. I also didn't receive a receipt so I have no way of asking for my money back. The employees were friendly and courteous, but there is no excuse for serving obviously burnt food. read more

It has been here a while it gets 5 stars, it's always busy with lines for days. The parking is a bit weird but you can park in the petco parking lot, food always good and the line does move fast. Very good location. Good variety of choice, decent customer service given that it is on the fly and the place is clean enough. Now, the Express part... I have never gone here or driven by without seeing a huge line up inside. So, you cannot really be in a hurry when you go in here. You can eat in, or dine out. I love the bowls with brown rice (great option for fried) and 1 item. So far once I had the honey walnut shrimp which was a treat and the last time was the orange chicken, their most popular item. If you like tang, this is your meat! Good amounts of chicken and because the place is so busy, the items are always coming out fresh. I also like their spring rolls here - I can be picky with those. You can ask to sample something too if you are not sure if you want to commit to a lot of it! I have always received my items correctly and at good temperature. You can ask for hot sauce as you check out. A really good option IMO for Western Asian style food that never makes you feel ill afterwards. Best Panda I've ever had! Visited on 9/22 around 9 pm. The cooks that were on shift were probably the best cooks I've ever had at any Panda Express. I did have to wait about 5-10 minutes for fresh chow mein and honey walnut shrimp, but I would definitely do it again. The employees were also very friendly and you can tell that they get along. Working on Saturday night sucks, but you can tell this group was making the most of it. Anyway, would definitely recommend this Panda. Better than most of the restaurants I've visited in the Central Valley. read more

Plus I got food poisoning and was throwing up at 3 am in the morning when I had a very important meeting to attend later that morning. This restaurant is not a clean restaurant. The cashier takes monies the with same gloves goes over and handles food. When I asked her Please do not touch the food or at least change gloves she said she could do what she wants and continued to touch numerous food trays and food items. I mean with this pandemic cleanliness is a must and if you're touching nasty, dirty money without changing gloves or removing and washing hands you are contaminating every dish the rest of your customers are purchasing with all that clean money you're handling. I'm giving this location two stars, one for the manager for being nice and understanding . The other store for the good food quality. Unfortunately the service was terrible. Gabriela S was extremely rude to my fiancé . She seemed to be annoyed of having to serve him . When he ordered , she made one bigger plate and left it to be bagged. She didn't ask him if he wanted any other plates or appetizers or drinks . Then when he asked the worker that took over for another bigger plate , Gabriela S seemed to get upset and annoyed with my fiancé . He didn't see if she had put in sweet and sour sauce and he asked her for some sweet and sour sauce & she replied to him with an attitude & said " I already put two inside, how many more do you want?" This location is very convenient for me as sometimes the panama lane location has horrible traffic. I can easily take the backroads and end up at this location in half the time. The problem with this restaurant for me is the variance is food quality. Half the time you can tell the food was made fresh, others times you get the leftover. Other than that there has been a couple of times where I've had to wait 10 minutes. Which isn't bad considering your getting a fresh batch of Beijing Beef, however I've noticed they start adding as much veggies as there is chicken or beef. When you are a parent, you are often compromised with many tasks after work that pull you away from making dinner at home. This night was no different for us, other then the service here at this location. I approached the counter and was greeted nicely and I advised the employee of the 3 combo plates and one bowl I wanted, keep in mind that they write the corresponding item number on the styrofoam plates for the line person to fill the remaining order after putting the rice/chow mein. Apparently the person down the line filling the order with the requested items stated the item number written on the styrofoam for one of my plates was not was it should have been. I ordered Sweet Fire Chicken Breast and she put Grilled Teriyaki Chicken, when I called it out she proceeded to argue with the guy who took the order initially about his handwriting. I can handle this to a point, but when she just kept on and on about it which stopped her from performing her job, then it gets annoying. She tossed the incorrect plate and made a new one, HOWEVER, she proceeded to put together my order in a bag. This employee did not verify that each plate was filled with the proper items and of course I didn't assuming it was done. I arrive at home and start to take out the plates and open them to see which one was which and I notice that one of them is missing food. I drove back and explained the error and they tossed it and made a new plate but no apology for the error. I know admitting your own mistake is hard but it will help you grow, it will help you learn. This is the best Panda Express I have eaten here in Bakersfield. The staff is friendly, the place is clean and the portions are greatly generous but, I wish sauce to meat ratio was right. My boyfriend and I each had gotten two choice plates here and they heavily packed the starches & I must tell you...The way they make their fried rice and chow mein...So good & I'm not one to like it unless it's the one from Hawaii. But, what had really upset me today was the sauce portions...We both had gotten teriyaki chicken with sauce on the side & they had only given us one and it was half filled. Smh. All other places have given us warm fully filled cups of sauce, they are really stingy with sauce.
