Just went here a couple days ago and went thru the drive thru. Ordered food and water to drink and they tried to CHARGE me for tap water!! What?! I questioned this and the so called 'manager' said they charge for water, and I said since when. I had visited them just a week prior and told them at that time I wasn't charged for water, and their response was "yes you were". Ok so now you're calling me a liar. They then said "well McDonald's charges for water.". No they don't. I finally got fed up and just got my food and left, minus the tap water. Will I EVER go back here?. This location does a really good job. The Orange Chicken is always tasty, portion sizes are generous, and the food is hot and fresh. The drive-thru can sometimes have a long line, but it moves pretty quickly. I don't care for about half of the entrees that they offer, but the ones that I do like entice me to come back once every couple months or so. Chow Mein is the only side I ever get, but it's not all that great (bland). I've found that if I mix in the Kung Pao Chicken entree, it makes it taste a lot better. The entrees I would recommend (in order) are: Orange Chicken, Honey Walnut Shrimp, and Kung Pao Chicken. The SweetFire Chicken has good flavor, but a lot of breading. The veggies in the Black Pepper Angus Steak weren't cooked long enough. The Mushroom Chicken was pretty good, but I was disappointed by the lack of chicken (mostly veggies). The Black Pepper Chicken was too peppery for my taste (and I don't like celery), but it was good mixed in with the Chow Mein. The Broccoli Beef tasted like something you get from the freezer section at the grocery store. And finally, the Beijing Beef had an odd texture, but I think I remember the flavor was ok. Not much of my order was right and the item (Teriyaki Chicken) had no sauce. But what really upset me was no one answered the phone when I called to complain. On 07/09/23 at around 5: 20 pm, we went here for dinner. I ordered white rice, steamed broccoli and kung pao chicken, which they had just cooked and poured into the stainless steel container. This was the reason I ordered it. However, the young woman server gave me the tiniest portion of the kung pao chicken. It barely filled the small square of the styrofoam box. In other Panda Expresses we'd been to, the portion of the entree should overflow the tiny square and run onto the rice. When it was my husband's turn: He ordered white rice, honey walnut shrimp and broccoli beef. Same thing. The 2 entrees barely filled up the 2 small squares of his stryrofoam box. We ended up paying $20.85 plus tax for 2 boxes of mostly white rice. It was very disappointing. Not sure why she was so cheap. She seemed polite enough so I don't think it was personal. It's acceptable, sort of. Panda Express is a high-end fast food place (now there's an oxymoron if there ever was one....). The food is not terrible, and the prices are low, but it does have some real problems. First, and this is a problem with almost every Chinese restaurant in Bellingham, there are too many dishes which are sweet: Orange Chicken, Sweet and Sour Chicken, Beijing Beef, Chinese BBQ, etc. To give you an idea of how bad this is for you, a modest serving of Beijing Beef will cost you a whopping 800 calories, while a similar serving of Mongolian Beef (a savory, not sweet, dish) is only 200 calories. Second, you'll be eating mainly chicken and beef. There is not much in the way of seafood and no pork. Pork is a staple of Chinese cooking, and cheep to boot. Why don't they have pork dishes? Finally, don't expect any spicy dishes here. This is food for the masses, and here in the Pacific Northwest that means not even a hint of spicy heat. Still, if you are aware of the nutritional content of their offerings (readily available on their website) and order accordingly you can get some acceptable food here. My boyfriend and I went in for lunch and got a plate and a bowl and 2 orders of spring rolls, but after I payed for our meal we found out they ran out of spring rolls and offered us egg roles as compensation, but we politely declined because we don't like egg rolls. We expected a refund for our spring rolls since we wouldn't be getting any, but we didn't and we got egg rolls either way. Extremely disappointed, but it wasn't our main concern, when I opened up my bowl I found a large piece of black lettuce completely moldy and extremely concerning. We were big fans of Panda Express back in LA. We like that they don't use MSG in their foods and have no trans fats. My husband loves their orange chicken and I like that they have veggie entrees. But this review isn't about the Panda Express back in LA, it's about the one in Bellingham. The one in Bellingham is so bad we don't go there. We tried it a few times and just couldn't get into it. Firstly, their portion sizes are WAY smaller than in LA. They use the same take out containers but barely put anything in there. For the price you're paying, you're really getting jipped. Secondly, the food, although they're the same entrees at all locations, just tastes bad. The meat is dried out and everything is overly greasy. Not consistent in service or quality of food I usually go through the drive-thru. Been going to this Panda for a few years and the service and quality of the food is not consistent. I actually don't mind waiting if they don't have my preferred item (which happens a lot) because at least I know the food will be fresh. Last night it was not. My String Bean Chicken had obviously been sitting in the hot case for a while, because the green beans were not "green". They were more of a gray color, very limp and no flavor. My Broccoli Beef was not much better. I usually order the two entree plate so that I can get a maximum of veggies, especially since they got rid of their mixed veggie side - but that's another rant. To top off the old food, the fried rice side was completely covering the container bottom and the entree's were served on top. There is usually so much rice, I ask for them to go easy since it's easily 3 servings, and even though they verbally acknowledged my request I still got way too much rice. But at least this time around my order contained the correct items. That is not always the case. Panda, bring back the mixed veggies! Get rid of your cabbage side dish. Add kale to the veggies if you need to, but bring back the veggies! That is really the only thing that sets you apart from most "fast food" restaurants. read more

The food was fresh, and tasted excellent. I am on weight watchers and was easily able to select a couple of dishes that fit into my program and enjoyed them. My wife who is far more critical of restaurant's enjoyed her Angus beef dish and was quite happy when her dinner (much better than Bayou on the Bay dinner last night). read more

This location is so NOTORIOUS for not having certain entrees or side dishes available during their high traffic hours (ex; lunch..dinner rushes). Twice now I've visited this location and have been asked to pull my vehicle up front because the food I ordered wasn't immediately available. Last night 03/27/18 I visited this location around 7pm..I would assume their dinner rush is just slowing down so I took advantage of their drive thru. I had a simple order of 3 veggie spring rolls and a small raspberry iced tea. Once I pulled up to the window the young male had informed me that there was going to be a wait on my veggie spring rolls..about "5-6 minutes, is that okay?" I said sure. He asked me to pull up front and he'd personally bring out my order to me. I waited..I had my very tired 2 year old in the back getting cranky because the car wasn't moving. 5 minutes turned into 10 minutes, 10 minutes turned into 15 minutes. Finally I got irritated with waiting in my car watching customer after customer come in and out with their orders and I'm still sitting there. I called and young girl picked up the phone, I told her that I'd been waiting for 15 minutes for 3 veggie springs rolls and I'm wondering why I still haven't left their parking lot with my order. She apologized and asked me to hold so she can check with the fryer to see what the status of my order was. A man returned to the call and said his name was Dustin and that he's "sorry but.." I cut him off. I said "you're sorry what? You're sorry that you don't have my order or you're sorry I've been sitting in my car for no reason?" He continued on to say that they hadn't even begun to cook my order. 15 MINUTES wasted in their parking lot! For what? For them to tell me that they don't have my order. Unacceptable! I just wanted my money back, but of course once I turned around after leaving the parking lot their manager had conveniently "gone home" for the night. Now I have to make another trip to collect my refund. What a joke!
