Food was great and the service we had was great and everyone was smiling and working hard. It probably didn't help that I was late picking up my order. But I managed to call and let the staff know I didn't forget I was just running late and they said it's was ok that my food was kept under the warmer so it would not get cold... But then I got home and noticed that I was missing my egg roll and all my items were marked with 3 egg rolls and 2 orders of cream cheese rangoons... Terrible customer service! This place caters to the drive thru & orders to go, not to the customers standing in line. We had three people ahead of us. The person in front of us just left he didn't want to wait anymore. They don't even acknowledge you at all. Finally it's our turn....no one nothing employees just filling to go orders that were coming in. Finally I had to ask if someone could help us. We ordered to go and got two of exactly the same thing. When we got to our hotel we opened the boxes and one was almost full and the other had maybe one scoop in it. Maybe. I'm guessing they ran out and didn't wanna wait even though my order was done on the shelf waiting when I got there. I called and the girl either lied about watching or lied about everything and said she watched them plate it and that it was correct. You look at the pictures and tell me if that's equal? I'm unsure why this place has such bad reviews, because we come here often, and it's always great. Some of the staff can be a bit....impatient, but I'm an impatient person myself, and they're slammed on Saturdays during lunch, so I get it and don't take it personally. We've been treated well by the employees so no complaints here. The food is always hot and fresh and delicious. Everything we try here is so good. We usually get the 2 entree plate, and I get the Honey Walnut Shrimp as my first, and then something new as my 2nd. I like the noodles, but I like the fried rice better, and love their sweet and sour sauce. Cream cheese Rangoons and veggie spring rolls are awesome! This is not the first time but this time deserves a poor review. The bigger plate should contain appr 22-24 oz of food I got less than 1lb. It's very dark in my home with Covid-19 and no power so I already am eating in the dark and depressed. The very meager meal makes me very upset. I am a manager at Arbys and I know how to treat my customers and this is not how to treat them. I have my own scale at home. I ordered a half n half with black angus steak, sweet and sour chicken, and black pepper chicken. Sweet and sour chicken weighed 4.2 oz Rice weighed 3.7 oz Noodles weighed 2.5 oz Peppered chicken weighed 4.3 oz and had one small piece of chicken Black angus weighed 1.2 oz and that was only two small cubes. Very dissatisfied with my $11.75 purchase! The total weight comes to 15.9 oz. The heights helped me out when I couldn't contact grand store. Don't get me wrong the food here is really good. The way one of the male cooks was "yelling" at another female worker who was working drive. For who knows why but it seemed really intense, it made it uncomfortable to eat and talk to the people I was eating here with. I downloaded the Panda Express app and was given $5 off a plate. This location would not accept the coupon. Ok. I ordered anyway- orange chicken, chow mein and crab rangoon. I paid for a plate. I got a bowl. The rangoon were cold and tasted like they were cooked hours before. And there was only 1 whole rangoon and a few bits and pieces of the wonton wrapper. I will not go back. Just adding something to review below: at lunch, they have been out of one of the side dishes each of our last three visits. When they run out of something you want, don't worry and don't step aside to "wait" for it. Just order it anyway and move down to the cash register to pay. When they get more they will make your meal and bring it out to you. ________________________________ This is a brand new, from the ground up, fast food restaurant located on Grand Avenue in the West Park Plaza parking lot. Getting in from the south entrance off Grand Ave. is easy. Getting out is not! Try it, you'll see what I'm talking about. This is a little unique from most Fast Food restaurants.... your food is all laid out before you (behind the glass) and you choose what you want according to which "meal plan" you choose. You can choose a small, simple meal that allows you one entree with one side or you can go with the larger family meal. I ordered a "family meal" which consists of three entrees and two sides. My choices were: Orange Chicken - This is a signature dish for PE and it's just ok as far as I'm concerned. Mildly spicy. The breading is soft, chewy. Sweet Fire Chicken Breast - Tasted like the Orange Chicken only it had a few veggies tossed in. Lightly breaded. Soft again. No crunch to the veggies. Beijing Beef - My favorite of the three but the meat was a little chewy and soft. Fried Rice - Unremarkable. Soft, with a few peas and carrots tossed in. Chow Mein - My favorite of everything we ordered but still, nothing to write home about. Lacking in spice. I added four egg-rolls. They're pretty sizable. In fact, I ate one and was pretty much full. Like everything else, they're soft. When I say soft, I mean nothing is crispy. I love Chinese/Oriental food. I eat it all the time all over the United States. I seek these types of restaurants out. I've had the "good stuff" and it's not a lot more expense than Panda Express. When everything sits in steam trays until ordered, it's bound to become soft. When I bite into an eggroll, I want to hear it crackle then soften up as I chew. Same with veggies. They should be crisp. As well as the breading on a fried piece of chicken or shrimp. They should all crack when you bite into them. The Beijing Beef had a really good flavor. More flavor than any of the other dishes we tried. However, the beef itself had the consistency of chewing gum. Literally, I could have chewed for a lot long but just decided to choke it down like a duck. The restaurant is beautiful for a Fast Food place. It felt very modern, if not a touch cold. The employees were all very nice but the gal working the register needs training. Check out took twice as long as going through the line of steam tables choosing my food. The parking is atrocious. The drive through might be the way to go. Get in, get out with your "soft", ordinary Chinese Food. There are 6 Chinese Restaurants on Grand Avenue. It seems to me a better location could have been chosen. There are now 4 within a stones throw. In a nutshell: Panda Express is to Chinese Food as Taco Bell is to Tacos or McDonalds is to Burgers. Know this going in and you won't be disappointed. Me? I'll stick to Four Seas down the street for my take out Chinese food. Edit: I just had to add this: The value is incredible. Panda Express on 15th & Grand Avenue exceeded my expectations numerous times in the quality of food and the customer journey. But this last Sunday, on the Lunar New Year, January 22, 2023, the female manager there treated me with such kindness, grace, courtesy and professionalism, I was a bit stunned. How very lucky Panda is to have her there leading the employees and setting a high bar for the customer experience. BTW, Panda Restaurant Corporate, Roseville, CA took great care of me as a customer when I had an issue related to the purchase and suspected mail theft by the USPS mail employees of mailed Panda Gift cards. I didn't know you CANNOT SEND GIFT CARDS THROUGH THE USPS BECAUSE THEIR EMPLOYEES STEAL GIFT CARDS FROM THE MAIL. I even filed a complaint with the USPS OIG and got no response. But Panda Corporate & Panda Local made it up to me and I am a loyal customer. read more

Chinese cuisine was the choice for dinner on a Sunday night. Not just any Sunday night in Billings, MT, but it was after finishing the Montana marathon earlier that day and it was my 38th birthday too. Looking around for options on a Sunday night and your body is tired and sore from what you did earlier in the morning, there's not much options to choose from. It didn't help when I started to drive around after 6:30pm. I ended up at this shopping center on Grand Avenue and looked around. Panda Express seemed the most intriguing, after ruling out having other fast food options with French fries. It's good to have some sort of variety here and the last thing I wanted was to sit in a restaurant and just feeling the effects of 26.2 miles I did on foot without a good night's sleep. Panda Express it was. The experience here is always like basically choosing your starch, then the 2 or 3 entrees you want to fill the plate. I opted for to take out, since I wanted to buy some wine nearby to compete the birthday dinner. With that said, I took about 10 minutes here and left. There were plenty of seating options inside the restaurant though. The restaurant itself was clean and tidy. The service here is usually typically of what you would find in any Panda Express restaurant and frankly, anywhere fast food is served. The overall experience here at this particular Panda Express Chinese restaurant is pretty good. Not like it's fine dining by any means, but it is a pretty good choice for anyone needed an alternative to burgers & fries and even tacos as well. This Panda Express location is at 3139 Grand Avenue in the heart of Billings, Montana. They accept major credit cards, so that's always a good thing as well as cash. Since this Panda Express location is apart of the larger shopping complex, parking options are boundless and plentiful. Unless you come during peak times, you should be fine getting a prime parking spot. Not sure if the Billings public transportation system comes through here, but do check online and see the transit map and schedule to be sure you can get here whenever you are craving some Chinese cuisine. For the most part though, Chinese cuisine can be a healthier option versus the usual fast food fare - depending on what you decide on choosing. My usual go to favorites are beef broccoli and a stir fry mushroom medley thing that seems to be on every menu out there these days. Along with the quintessential chao mein, you are really set to go. On this visit to Panda Express here in Billings, I did the chao mein with beef broccoli and that mushroom vegetable thing. Decided to add one more entree to round out the batch, which was the orange chicken. With all these goodies, comes with a price. For the 3 entree plate, the cost was around $9.00, which seemed consistent with other Chinese restaurants I've frequented in other cities. While my experience was a take out versus a dine in, I thought it was okay and the food was prepared and delivered in a timely manner. 3.0 stars for the overall experience. It's still fast food, just a different way of it. 3.5 stars for the service and 3.5 stars for the food. I mean, it's Chinese food. I've been around it all my life. It was just okay. Support local! I rarely complain, especially now where staff and product are always short. However, this has to be the worst fast food I've ever paid $15! First off, like many others the portions are tiny. I got the medium ala carte broccoli beef. I'm certain there were 4 pieces of need I say...maybe "beef." Followed by about 8 undercooked broccoli, that tasted like pesticides. We just moved to the area and are big fans of Panda Express. Our previous location we always went to was awesome! We checked the reviews for this location and were a little concerned they did not receive high reviews. We took our chances and ordered a ton of food for our small army. This location was clean. The food was tasty, however, the broccoli in the broccoli beef could have been cooked a little longer. It was still pretty firm. And the chow mein could have been cooked longer. It too was still pretty firm and dry. The gal filling the order forgot to add the teriyaki sauce with our teriyaki chicken. All of the food was barely warm. The staff was friendly and looked happy to be there and all the food pans were filled. No waiting for more food to be cooked. The cook staff was on top of all of the selections and not letting them go empty. We will be back to this location, we just hope the food will be cooked fully and hot. read more
