I went to panda express on August 22, 2025 got up to the speaker ad ordered. I added a second side only of teriyaki chicken. When I got to the window to pay, the lady informed me that there was no teriyaki chicken available and I could wait for 10 minutes for a new batch. I elected for two egg rolls Which they had available and proceeded home. The black pepper chicken should've been thrown out an hour ago. it was the worst tasting food I've had from this establishment ever. Just a hint of the management you might want to put a toothpick in and take a sample of what you are serving to people. I wouldn't feed this to my dog. You lost me me.as a customer. read more

The chow mein had more onions than noodles, & the honey sesame & orange chicken tasted like it was fried with mushrooms or something that threw the taste off completely. I could give them no stars I would this place consistently disappoints. In the last 4 months virtually every time I have gone they have omitted part of the order that I paid for. Today I ordered Andre and 2 orders of 2 egg rolls. They only put one order of egg rolls in the bag and there was not any sweet-and-sour sauce. So I tried calling the location to get a manager to complain and see about getting my second order of egg rolls or refund. They don't answer the phone I tried calling 3 different times from 2 different numbers and they just don't answer the phone. Clearly they don't give a damn about staying in business. They must realize there are very few Asian restaurants in Buda, So they have a captive audience. My advice is to double check your order every time before you leave. Or better yet avoid this place like the plague that it is. It has become a joke between my husband and I that fast food in Buda is horrible (heaven help you if you go to the Jack in the Box or neighboring Sonic, and the Zaxby's can't get your order right or in a timely manner to save their soul), so I have to admit, we really took a crapshoot yesterday when we decided to try our local Panda Express. However, we were actually pretty pleased overall. When you eat at Panda, you acknowledge you're getting a mediocre Asian flavor experience. Comes with the territory-- you're making an intentional choice with pros and cons. We would've tried out the Beijing Bistro, but it was closed on Sundays, so we went to Panda because we were jonesing for Chinese food. We arrived around 430PM and it was dead quiet inside, just us and the employees; probably we beat the dinner rush hour, especially considering their buffet was loaded with plenty of everything to choose from. It was nice actually, because I was able to study the options and pricing without worrying about holding up the line (back where we come from in California, Panda Express is always hopping busy, but we've noticed Chinese food does not have the same following in Texas). We both ordered the large plates (3 entre + side) which rang up a little over $10, which seemed a decent price for the amount of good we got (had leftovers!). We took it to-go so we could have soda at home, though the lobby seemed clean. The guy dishing food was very polite and attentive, and he was in the process of training another gal, making sure she knew the importance of good customer service. They were both friendly. My guess looking at the reviews online versus our experience yesterday is probably that this place had a rocky start but corporate kicked their butts into trying a little harder, LOL. I must admit I've never had Panda Express and for good reason, it didn't seem like something I would like especially with all the "good" Chinese restaurants out there. In all transparency the only reason I tried it is b/c I saw an episode of Rick and Morty and they said how much they loved it. So, I figured I'd give it a shot. Conveniently situated on the corner of a break out strip mall parking is easy and the area safe. Outside brick and mortar, 2022 Amerikana so devoid of much individual personality (not that chains are allowed much freedom). On a Friday at 11:30am I walked into the restaurant and noted it had low noise, was very clean and a pleasant atmosphere. I looked online before driving there and I saw Beef Chow Fun! I didn't see mei fun (think Singapore noodles without the curry component) or low mein so I was a bit let down. I scanned the counter and said, where's the Beef Chow Fun? Sorry sir we don't have that here. So the website isn't reliable in terms of menu items. Next there were a lot of open containers, which means less variety. The rice looked freshly made however some of the items had been sitting a while even at this early in the day. The beef and broccoli looked lifeless while the orange chicken had a sugary film stuck to the pan which told me it hadn't moved in a long time. Basically it was a tossup on what was fresh and tasty vs items that had a little grey in the proverbial beard. I opted for mushroom chicken and it tasted on par with a higher end Chinese buffet and the fried rice was ok but lacked flavor. It wasn't great but decent. The black pepper angus steak was good in that the meat wasn't overly chewy and did have a little flavor and complimented by the pepper. I had that over the chow mein which wasn't what I would call "good". Very stiff as if it wasn't cooked all the way and imparted no flavor. The chicken egg roll and veggie spring roll were enough to keep a soldier alive on a field but not an emperor in his palace. All in all I went in with an open mind yet my experience was pretty much exactly why I've never been before and won't go again. It's decent for dining but when I crave Chinese I need more authentic recipes, better execution along with more options. read more

I love panda. This Buda location is kind of a mess but close to home. I was very pleased to see that due to the pandemic they were offering a $20 family meal. My husband is out of work and my hours have been cut drastically. So $20 for a meal I know is good is awesome. I went to the drive thru and was informed this is a special online only. The friendly worker told me to just pull to the front and he'd come out to take my order before I placed it so he could get it out quicker. He came right out took my order and then I paid online.
