I stopped by to pick up lunch for my husband and immediately noticed a gentleman at the counter quietly and respectfully telling staff that the fried rice was very undercooked. When it was my turn to order, I told the manager I wanted fried rice as well, but not from the undercooked batch that had just been mentioned. She told me she would need to taste it to confirm whether it was undercooked, but she never did. After waiting, I asked how long it would take to make a fresh batch, and she huffed and said it would be 45 minutes. Her attitude was very much "take it or leave it," and she abruptly asked if I wanted white rice instead. I went ahead and ordered my husband's meal with white rice so I could leave, but while paying, I noticed she continued serving the same undercooked fried rice to other customers without hesitation. I was disappointed--not just by the food issue, which happens, but by the dismissive attitude and the decision to knowingly continue serving a product that had already been questioned by a customer. I use to come to this place faithful, but now the food isn't fresh anymore. When they do bring out fresh foods , they'll scrape out from the bottom of the bowls giving you all that old soggy portions, but would not give you all the fresh portions...also the proportions have changed ,but the prices are still the same! The Sweet Fire Chicken breast was doughy and not cooked. There were two lady's working one friendly and helpful the other had major attitude. The restaurant was clean and we'll lit. I have received this bad customer service about 5-6 times. I usually try to shrug off bad customer service especially at a not so formal restaurant. But i demand my respect. Central Mississippi has Panda Express few and far between, so this is definitely a gift in disguise for those in the north Jackson area (if you like PE). The crowds fluctuate throughout the day, but is relatively low. There's a big layout of food options to choose from; more than you'd find at a Food court Panda Express. They have a small eating area in the back with flat screen TVs, which is cool. They also have nice music playing in the background. I can dig it. Now...maybe I'm a bit spoiled growing up around Panda and I feel a bit greedy saying this, BUT this is one of the smaller portions I've had at a PE. Now keep in mind, it is definitely more than a serving size...BUT...one scoop of orange chicken? Really? Got half veggies and half white rice. Plenty of rice, BUT "one" scoop of veggies?? For reallll? I didn't have the gall to ask for more because I didn't want to come off in a bad way. The guy behind the counter was nice enough and it wouldn't have been right so I held my tongue. I go to Panda Express at home with no problem BUT here is completely different. They had 2 working the steam table 2 person was helping another customer the other employee took one look at me then acted like he was busy helping her (the other employee). Then when he finally helped me he gave me old fried rice because the chow mei looked REALLY old and greasy. Orange chicken and spring rolls. Never again will I eat here. The orange chicken did not have any orange flavor at all it was just fried with red pepper flakes. Springs rolls were mush. Drinks were evidently running low because when I got to my job and took a sip it horrible too with lots of water in it. They bwttee be glad that I was not an employee of Panda Express because what they had how I was treated I would have asked all of them to leave until they could be re-trained. The staff was getting ready to clean up since it was pretty dead in there, but still willing to please customers. It kind of already looked clean, though. The teriyaki chicken breasts look tempting, but ribs from Panda Express are fleeting, ya know? The ribs were okay. You could tell they had been sitting out for a bit. Tough in some places, wasn't fall off the bone (which is fine to me because I love a bit of chew) but the flavor was still there. Most of the time the sauces on the entrees aren't prepared correctly which makes them taste bitter or either not have any flavor. Sometimes the workers don't put soy sauce in your bag. If you have to ask for it, they only want to give you 2 packs. The manager at this Flowood location is the worst manager I've ever encountered in my life! She pretends she doesn't communicate English very well if you have an issue, but we've seen her plenty of times speaking and understanding English just fine. She simply doesn't care if the food is prepared correctly. When you explain to her the flavors aren't right, she just says it's fine and gives you another plate of the same thing. Several times our food was room temperature instead of hot like it should be. We told her, but again she acted like she didn't understand. We believe she poisoned some of our food last time we complained. Severe stomach cramps and diarrhea for days. We've called customer service many times about this location. They pretend to care while on the phone, but they never do anything about it. They send out coupons for a free entree, but who wants more bad or poisoned food? And you can get that coupon free anyway by completing an online survey from the back of the receipt. We'll never go back to this place! Report them to MS Dept of Health if you get sick from their food. They had a great daytime manager a few years ago. He was always polite and helpful, the food always good. Panda was great about 6-8 months ago, but has gone down dramatically since that time. The service is down, the quality is down, everything is down. This most recent time, we had two gift cards we wanted to use, but they said they didn't have money on them. We knew they did, so we called and verified the amounts on the cards while the workers were there with us, but they refused to honor the amounts on the cards. I went here tonight for the first time and I firmly believe they need to remove the name "Express" from the name of this establishment to avoid anyone accusing them of "false advertising!" We waited at least thirty minutes just for an order of orange chicken and rice! The poor "server person" was the only one filling orders while "the other staff" (what there was of one) all stayed in the back "cooking" because they apparently didn't want to wait on anyone! Ironically, even though they were "apparently cooking," everything was supposed to be "already prepared and ready to serve," that is what is supposed to make it an "express!" Tried Panda Express today with my coworkers and had a good experience. I had "the bowl" which includes one entree over white or fried rice with a side for $5.90. I had orange chicken over white rice. It was a pretty good sized bowl - I couldn't quite finish it - and it was delicious. I also got a veggie spring roll which was good too. Like other reviewers said, they are short staffed.
