This restaurant is an absolute disgrace to the local fast food market. Upon entering the restaurant I was immediately harassed by the MANAGER, who made light of my severe asthma problem. Something is wrong with the way this store is ran. When I was there last they were missing ingredients so some of the entree options were non-existent. The food that I ate this time was better...but as some of the fresh veggies were gone, everything I had to eat was fried. The girl working the counter plated me and then said; "Someone will be here to ring you up." She then away and I could see her milling around the drive thru area. So I stood there making eye contacg with any employee I could find for 3 minutes until finally someone came to help. Panda is better then this. read more

Tonight we decided Panda Express sounded good, so we went thru the drive thru, the girl taking our order, repeated everything incorrectly back to me, so I had to tell her repeatedly our order. We needed separate checks so I told her 3 different times and she still put it on one check then when we got to the window, She told me the total and I said I ask for separate checks, she argued by saying no you didn't we heard yes on one check. I just gave up, some people are dumber than a box of rocks. At least the food tasted good, however I had diarrhea multiple times after eating it and I do not have the flu. BEWARE read more

I had been to this location before and my experience was not great. I went in yesterday and the people at the counter were friendly but it was very busy so I had to wait a few minutes in line. Totally understandable during lunch time in my opinion however they looked a little understaffed. I ordered the chow mein, black pepper chicken, and broccoli beef which they were nearly out of. The cashier, who I think was the manager (??) informed me that they would make some fresh for me, which I really appreciated. It took about two and a half minutes for fresh broccoli beef and it was pretty good! There was a lady in front of me who didn't like her spring rolls or something and the manager was very apologetic and gave her a refund after offering to give her something else. She was very nice and seemed happy to be there which is a nice change of pace from some other fast food establishments. She also came by during the course of my meal and was asking everyone how the food was which you also do not see at many other fast food places. Been there about 5 times and it's always been good food. After reading the reviews, I decided I will not go at opening time. It's probably that they don't get there early enough to get the food out at 10:30am... I mean who eats Chinese at 10:30 any way? Also, the employees are hit and miss on friendliness. Some just want you to know what you want right away, but most are helpful. Don't order the bowl if you are hungry, get the plate. Most of the time it's so much food I can't finish it all. The store opened at 11:15 which is 45 minutes after they were suppost to. Service was slow. The employees were in a bad mood. napkins wasnt stocked and they dont have any madarin sauce for the dry teriaki chicken. So disapointed!!!! read more

Been there twice and each time they've been out of crab Rangoon and every entree we wanted they're out of. Won't be going back, plus they trap you in the drive thru. Very slow service. I was told the string bean chicken was going to be an 8min wait. After I pay and wait for few it turned into 20 min. I told them I would be back for it. After 20min I return just to wait at the window again for another 7plus minutes. I should have just taken my money and went somewhere else. read more

Stood in line waiting our turn when the people in front of us order a bunch of food, no big deal but it takes the lady forever to get their food plus she's chit-chatting with them the whole time. I wasn't upset, just waiting my turn. She tells me she will be back to help me in a minute. She's still chatting away with them. Then I hear her tell the cashier, " Don't ring them up yet, they get a discount bc they are my cousin". *sigh She's leaning on the counter STILL chatting with them. My husband loves Panda Express so I often find myself picking some up for him while I'm in town. I haven't had a bad experience yet however one day I ended up waiting literally 30 minutes in the drive thru for our food. The customer service was on point this day (& hopefully it's always like this). She explained they had a new cook and it was taking some time to finish up the order. She didn't ignore or dismiss me, instead she explained the situation, threw in an extra drink, an extra side of chicken, and two coupons for a free entree in the future. Very pleased with the customer service. Plus the order was correct, piping hot, and very delicious. Good job Panda! The customer service is what will keep me returning! read more

Food was subpar, specially for the price. The noodles were dry, the rice was a mush. The entrees were average to unappetizing. Won't eat there again. I like cheap Chinese food, but that was just bad. Also mine, my wife's, and my 2 kids stomachs all started turning pretty bad after eating there. read more

I had VERY low expectations after reading the negative reviews here and hearing similarly bad things from friends and family during the months since Joplin's Panda Express opened. But I simply had to try it for myself, and I was not unhappy with the food I received. Against my better judgment, I went to the drive thru to place my order and the employee was extremely difficult to understand and I had to repeat my order several times before she got it - very simple order of Honey Walnut Shrimp and mixed veggie bowl and 3 crab rangoons. At the time (Dec 2014), my total was under eight dollars for this, which I didn't think was too bad given the quality of the shrimp which was way better than I expected for fast food. It was not a large portion but the shrimp were very good and battered lightly with an appropriate coating. The sauce seemed to be mayo based and there were a few candied walnuts thrown in, reminding me of Walnut Shrimp dishes at authentic Hong Kong style restaurants. So that kind of blew me away and caused my rating to go from 3 to 4, to be honest...I didn't think I'd get that kind of flavor at Panda Express. The mixed veggies were crunchy and just barely steamed, which I happen to like, but it did feel like I was eating the contents of a plain steamer bag from the supermarket, nothing special. The crab rangoons, an afterthought for me, were not something I'd repeat as they were small and very oily with a super strong onion flavor to the filling. I know several people who would love the crunchy & ultra oniony rangoons though, so that is just my personal preference speaking. Overall I have to say I will be back sometime. The price wasn't crazy and using their nutritional info as a rough guide, they fit my lifestyle pretty well. At risk of sounding like a "Disgruntled Employee" I must say that this business has more problems than just their food. The quality of the food varies week by week due to the massive amount of employees that are hired due to individuals quitting this restaurant. During my time here the food was decent, though a little pricey for what it was. There's a major management problem in this location and as a patron you can see and feel the tension while dining here. Employees are thrown into cooking foods that they have no experience with while being expected to produce excellent quality food and customer service. The quality is highly inconsistent due to individuals quitting and new employees getting mediocre training at best. It's hard to produce a quality meal in a decent environment when your longest employee has worked there for a week. If management changes were made, I feel this restaurant has real potential to produce quality items and a decent dining experience. As stated, the food is really hit and miss depending on the employees experience that week. If you're looking for something quick, Panda Express would work for you. However if you're looking for great, consistent food quality, Joplin has better options in the immediate area. read more

It's as good and reasonable and freshly cooked and for a chain to produce this in a quick carry out or dine in that 's saying a lot of good! awesome staff and friendly and the service excellent! I won't be going around to too many Asian restaurants other than one other that grills it while you watch! Has anyone ever talked about how you can order and pay online and walk in an pick it up for a group and that group paid for it separately etc? It's a wonderful service for your "team" to have a great meal at work and have someone go in and pick it up for everybody! Try their online ordering!
