Restaurant is very dirty, it was busy when we got here so I didn't care to clean my own table, it slowed down but they never came out and cleaned. Servers were not friendly and left the customers standing I helped! The food wasn't good! The noodles were not done. The rice was also undercooked!!The Beef broccoli was ok but I only got 3 small pries of beef to go with my undercooked broccoli. The food was lacking something in terms of flavor. Maybe because Americans don't really like flavor unless it's fat or salt? The dishes were all the same for the most part, battered and wok (deep fried) chicken. I had the kung pow and orange chicken. The service was polite but when I asked for a sample they used a tooth pick that still had the wrapper on it?? I don't eat plastic maybe they do. If they are to lazy to take the wrapper off a tooth pick then what else are they to lazy to do in the kitchen? Ultimately the food made me sick for 2 days. Mild food poisoning. I was disappointed that I didn't like my first visit to Panda Express more. The service seemed inattentive and awkward. The Pepper Chicken had a strange texture, like soft fat. I couldn't finish it. However, the Angus Steak was good. The chicken potstickers were bland, but okay for their price (under $2). I will try this place again if I'm having a major hankerin' for Chinese, as I find it more appealing than the average Chinese take-out place. But I only recommend it with caution. read more

Went through the drive thru here and the only complaint was the wait in line a little longer than other fast food places. Tried the chicken and mushroom and honey tempura shrimp both were good but the shrimp was a little too sweet. I could eat tons of the chicken though and you get good portions for the price including a side. read more

Panda Express is unique in being a Chinese fast food restaurant with a drive through. After a long evening of shopping wearing six inch wedge sandals I was thrilled to not have to park and walk inside on my sore feet. I ordered orange chicken and chow mein. It's Chinese fast food. So don't get your expectations too high. They serve the same food and in the same way you would have at the mall. You get your choice of rice(white or brown) or chow mein with 2 entrees. They give you a generous amount of food with enough for left-overs to take home. Ate today and had sweet and sour chicken and a premium upgraded charge item, it was beef forgot the name of it sorry. It was very spicy and I couldn't even eat it. Awful. After about 4 times of ordering something as simple as a sweet and sour chicken bowl with fried rice, and having it screwed up, you'd think I'd have learned. Nope, today I insisted I'd try yet again. My son has an appt nearby in Monday around 2...there is always a wait for the sweet n sour chicken...always. So today, I go thru to order, before dropping him off, when they said it'd be 10-15 min, I said fine, I'll pay and come back in a few to pickup. Great! I drop my son off, go back to claim my food, it's waiting at the window! Terrific, right? No, no. I get back to wait in my son, take out my lunch, only to find its general tso chicken and NOODLES. So I go back, a very unapologetic mgr, starts scooping me up what appears to be several hours old S&S chicken...I said wait, I thought the whole reason I was waiting was for fresh S&S chicken... he offers to make me some, if I'd like to wait, again. I left, no idea if he credited my acct, I told him I'd consider it a $7 lesson to quit trying to come there. If you like any Chinese food and are not particular to what they toss out the window at you, by all means, give this place a visit. My overall experience of this restaurant was more than satisfying. The facility was clean, he food was great, and customer service was good as well. I was offered many samples to try and was told what it was I was trying. The prices were not bad and the quality really good. It does tend to get a bit crowded since they have a small dine in space. This place is awful. This was my first and probably LAST visit. Staff could not explain color code of labels over steam table items because they could neither speak or understand Kentucky English. One staff finally came from back and could speak English but she said she was new and did not know the color code. Blower over door blew dust under my contact lens. Really enjoy their unique dishes and how they are willing to let you sample their offerings before you order. My first time there and I sampled three or four items before ordering and I never felt like they were irritated or bothered by this at all. We were very excited to finally have another drive-thru Chinese place in town, but the food is really lacking. The chow mien noodles are just not right. Besides the lack of sauce, they have a strange rubbery texture, not at all how noodles should be. The vegetable spring rolls are spicy in a bad way, but not overly hot. I had chicken with mushrooms and it was good, though the noodles ruined it. I really liked the flavor of the pot stickers. They did cook up more pot stickers for me because the 3 left had been sitting there a while and were rubbery. My daughter had the beef with broccoli and she said that the broccoli was not cooked enough, basically it was raw. They have a sweet tea and a flavored tea that is not sweetened. We asked for packet sweetener, but they don't have them. Some people are diabetic and need non-sugar sweeteners. The employees were very helpful. read more

I wasn't expecting much - obviously the word "gourmet" in the title is a bit of a stretch. The chicken was juicy and tasty, not too bad, but I must say the egg rolls were the worst I've ever had. They were thick with grease, like some extra crispy KFC chicken and quite over cooked. If you go, don't order the egg rolls!! Going through the line is a bit like getting shot through a cannon, so you had better read and understand the menu before you get in line, because it's quick, quick, quick, and they will try to upsize you if you look a little lost. After entering into your establishment located on the campus of the University of Kentucky was met with a sub-par encounter. I feel this way because I usually go here at least twice weekly and never had I been greeted with such attitude. This encounter was one that I found to be very rude and unpleasant. I went into Panda Express craving their most popular food, orange chicken, and upon reaching the front of the line I became aware very quickly that they were out of this item. As always the lady at the front asks what she could help me with. I replied, "Yes please. I would like a bowl with fried rice and double orange chicken." She stared at me with hesitation and very rudely asked "Didn't you hear me say it 100 times while you were standing in line that we are out of orange chicken?" After hearing this I simply asked for "fried rice and beef and veggies." This experience was an encounter that I as a consumer found very disturbing and upsetting. It isn't my fault as the customer that I didn't hear that they were out of my favorite item. I looked inside the glass container to find that the orange chicken bowl was completely empty and hadn't had any in it all day. It was as though it just had came out of the washer. I found this encounter to be very upsetting, not only for me but the other individuals in line behind me that may have had the same type of experience. I had been in this same institution numerous times before and the lady never acted out like this on anyone, in fact I assumed she was a very nice individual, which may still be true. There was a large communication gap between the employee and myself because of the way she presented the information to me. I also feel as though there was a service performance gap because the institution has to train employees on how they should convey messages to an everyday consumer. I believe that Panda could implement a higher level of employee composure by presenting a more in depth training session. Also I believe the firm should always have back stock of items, especially their most famous item, orange chicken. I will continue returning to this place of business in hopes that this particular employee was having a bad day and will in turn lead me to believe this is a consumer-based restaurant. read more
