Several times now, delivery orders never include the drinks we ordered!!!! And no one will answer the phone!!!

Too many people behind the counter. Food was barely warm. After reading other reviews, I see I'm not the only person reporting food is not hot. I'm unable to believe the health dept hasn't been notified of this issue. Dining area was so cold we had to keep our winter jackets on to eat. Dining area was a mess with only 0ne person trying to clean and take out garbage, (through the front door), while at least 4 people behind the counter goofing off. At least 'look' busy, wipe counters, help in the dining area. Panda Express in Machesney Park is a disgrace to the chain. We won't be returning to this location. read more

Absolutely terrible experience. Did an online pickup order for 8:15pm. Got there at 8:17 and Jacob told me there is no order. I showed him the receipt and told me we don't have any of the food ready. Good experience for the price. I had never been ordered at a Panda Express before. I was curious, hungry, and decided to visit. The food portions are fit for the price. The food tasted like how I expected. It's not as fresh as a sit-down Chinese restaurant but that's expected with fast food. The store is a little dirty but I don't mind. Since I had never been to a Panda Express before, the staff helped guide me through the ordering process. I feared what I was getting into from looking at other's reviews but overall I had a pretty pleasant experience. I would only order inside the store where I could see the food being prepared and have it made for me as that is the only way you can ensure that you will get what you were hoping for. This picture looks all right but what's missing; there's no Beijing beef here it's all grizzle and sauce it looks like there's a lot but there's nothing. The shrimp was all right just no walnuts and that's in the name and then when I ask them about it they're like oh we only put a little bit on there and it's like wow this is not how I remember ordering. I got teriyaki chicken all fat lukewarm no teriyaki sauce on the side like I asked no sweet-and-sour sauce with my veggie spring rolls. They didn't even have Coca-Cola in the bottle or you know it's gonna be good quality instead they gave me crappy Coca-Cola that's been cut with too much water so that said I would never order anything from this panda express again. These sort of key mistakes I assume are trickle down effect from management. It's a little things that count because when all these little things add up you have a complete disaster and you get crap instead of the good stuff they gave you in the past. I know the sign says Chinese food but in reality it is not. Protein quality is abhorrent. Rice and noodles are always cold. They will not allow any special requests like hold the onions or adding extra anything. I believe it's because food is not actually prepared in house. They merely warm up bags of different dishes and then serve them. Service is usually slow with many people waiting in line (only God knows why). I've been to many Panda's, I do not notice a difference. I ordered orange chicken with white rice. The worker gave me double rice without me asking and argued about it. I wanted two servings of orange chicken. Since when is rice a side? And I didn't ask for extra. I gave up. Customer service lacks, the chicken was not fresh...it was hard and had been sitting awhile. Slightly quicker than ordering from a regular Chinese take-out place (one just down the road by US-2). Not a buffet, like the Hibachi Grill, a couple of blocks west, and only slightly cheaper. For those who do not get out of a 3 mile radius much, Panda is a pretty well known chain that is remarkably consistent regardless of location. My standard selection is a 2 entree plate, though I'd swear, getting it in a to go box results in more food Pros -Its going to be better than most fast food options out there both in quality and healthiness -Always loved the selections of sides whether it be veggies or rice. I'm more partial to brown rice. I know they do chow mien, but I've never gotten it -Never had any kind of issue with the service and most of the time drive thru turnaround is acceptable Cons -I've always felt like I've wanted a "little more" out of their entree selections. Options in my opinion feel too similar -Premium options are sold at a higher price. Normally I can deal with that, but with the fewer options I find it very annoying. -Speaking of annoying, if I order a double of any entree, they usually won't have enough resulting in a wait. It's petty on my part, but still a real gripe Bottom line: I've always considered Panda the school lunch option of fast food Chinese, even compared to Happy Wok. I've never had a bad experience so this falls into a good but a great lunch option if you want something simple. read more
