4 stars for Panda because their customer service was awful today. They had a group of about 12 they were feeding and one lady was getting their food and two people were behind the cooking area. One kept looking at us but didn't say we will be right with you or anything. Then another lady came back from her break and started helping the other lady getting food that was in front of us and she didn't say a word to us while she was getting the food for them. No sorry for the wait.. no we will be just with you.. NOTHING!.. Finally after about 10 min. she says what can I get for you. With 4 people working there you think instead of keep looking at you they would say something.. There food is always yummy but there customer service SUCKS! You're in a hurry and want something that resembles Chinese food but you don't have much money. This is what brings you to Panda Express. Surprisingly the food here can be very good if you follow one caveat. Order it fresh every time. The workers will hate you and try to convince you the food on display just came up, but don't believe it. Let them scowl and order it fresh. Got here 20 mins before closing and was quickly given a short list of the items I COULD order. Most of pans that would normally be filled with popular items like orange chicken and chow mein were empty. The woman working said they wouldn't be making more of anything that had run out because they "were almost closed." I was incredibly disappointed. Mushroom chicken is my favorite and they were out. Orange chicken is my husband's. We'd gone for that and chow mein. We had driven from across town to this location BECAUSE they were still open. It was obvious that I appeared confused at the fact that they wouldn't make more items with time still left to serve customers. Upon seeing me look at my watch to check the time, the woman scraped the stuck on chicken and mushroom bits left at the bottom of the pan into a tiny box and then with a smile tried to convince me that she was giving me a great deal because she wasn't "going to charge" me for them. :/ I haven't been back to this location since. read more

The staff is always friendly and the food has been very good. I like getting coupons because I will try something different. I always get the mushroom chicken and teriyaki chicken. Only time I left with nothing was when they had no teriyaki chicken and very little mushroom chicken. My family loves their shrimp dishes. read more

This place has definitely gone down hill. Went to this location on June 16 about 8:15 pm and I did not get out of there with my food (which was terrible by the way) until almost 9:20 pm. When I arrived there was only one person in the line but lo and behold we had wait until the girl at the counter was finished filling the online orders (10 mins wasted). I asked someone how much longer and she said "as long as it takes ". Wow! How rude! Finally my turn which by that time there was a long line behind me. I requested a fresh batch of Beijing Beef be cooked. I heard her tell the two cooks who by the way weren't listening as they were batting something up in the air at each other. Finally I asked how much longer and the cooks hadn't even started yet. By then I saw the girl again filling the online orders and about 8 to 9 people who had been in line waiting walk out. The people around me were complaining about how long their food was taking too. You really should change the name from "Panda Express" to "Panda Wait In Line" because there is nothing express about this place. I read the responses to some of the reviews by someone associated with corporate and all he said was he would relay the reviews to the manager. I tried panda at vintage fair mall. DISAPPOINTED AGAIN! No fresh food had to wait 10 minutes in the wait they serve up your sides put them aside. When done and you sit to eat noodles were cold. The girl Alice was in a hurry to charge did not pay attention when I told here the drink was separate from the meal. My son's card was charged. Also when they promise you they will send you a "free meal" they do not send anything. I pretty much done with panda waste of time and money will need to find a better place. read more

There's a Manager named Crystal who was very rude to customers and was being real aggressive toward customers just asking questions and tired of getting skimpy portion size of food, it's like there trained to give you as little food as possible. When I entered the store, there were three people ahead of me.They were taken care of quickly and my wait was short. One of my orders was not available and I had to wait for it. I was not waiting long when I was given egg rolls and sweet & sour sauce. They were hot and fresh. The staff is friendly, but there have been multiple times that I've waiting over 20 minutes for an item because it wasn't ready outside of a rush. Some of the food tasted stale and some of the chicken was crispy and fresh but the walnut shrimp was pretty amazing, but I would probably not come back to this location unless I really had to nothing against Panda Express just more on this location. Best fast food in Modesto. We frequent this location, sometimes twice a week and are never disappointed. Their food is always freshly cooked, the service is quick and the facility is clean. Recently discovered the online ordering that eliminates waiting in line. The place is popular as it should be. The Chicken with String Beans and Walnut Honey Shrimp are favorites. The service at this location is less than acceptable. The service is slow and the food lacks quality. The lady at the front is difficult to understand and rude. when you pay extra for a premium dish I would expect it to be premium. when I called and spoke to a manager about my experience she really could care less. Didn't offer in anyway to make things right. I shouldn't have to ask for my meal to be replaced when I threw it in the trash because it tasted horrible. If it was possible to give them no stars, I would. We've gone there a handful of times and have always left disappointed. The first time we were disappointed was when we were waiting on orange chicken and they let all our other food sit out and get cold for the ten minutes we had to wait for orange chicken. Another time, we waited fifteen minutes in line for it to move two people. Not two groups of people, but literally two people in line. Then, Betty (who we always seem to have a problem with) was super rude when we were trying to order. Tonight, though, tops it. Tonight, July 21st at 7:30pm we were disgusted when we were eating. We were sitting in there eating and Betty was wiping all of the tables down cleaning them. After that she heads to the trash. We watched her go through the trash, pick up all of the Styrofoam boxes, empty them into the trash, stack the boxes, put them back in the trash and close it. All without any gloves or anything, just with her bare hands. She sat there for about five minutes doing that right next to our table. At first we were disgusted that she would be doing that instead of just taking the trash out like she was supposed to. Immediately after touching the trash, she goes and touches all of the forks, knives and spoons. WITHOUT WASHING HER HANDS. I almost threw up right then. I went over to the manager, Chris, and told him what happened. He went in the back and talked to her. He admitted to me that he's had multiple complaints and problems with Betty. He was extremely apologetic and gave us our money back, along with a coupon for any location. Unfortunately, we've had too many problems with that particular location. Pricey, but usually pretty consistent. Portions moderate. Fast-Food Chinese... my son loves the Orange Chicken, daughter likes the Chow Mein, and I usually get the Broccoli Beef. You usually know what you're getting and it rarely fails. read more

While I usually like Panda Express, this location lacks quality service and fresh food. One particular employee dislikes me asking if something is fresh or requesting to wait for a fresh batch. I think she enjoyed telling me (today) that my beloved string bean chicken was out of season. Previously she commented on how I order the same thing and seemed to be poking fun at me. I'm pregnant!
