The newest (to us) outpost of our beloved mall Chinese chain. We've frequented the one in Piscataway for years but lately have added this one to the mix. This area is actually an amazing embarrassment of fast casual riches: Shake Shack, Chipotle, Freddy's incoming and still Panda managed to stand out. This location has a drive thru which is a gift in a pinch. I love how I can honestly ask the employees in the drive thru if the food is fresh and they'll tell me how long since it was made. Inside is equally as nice - bright, open and airy with ample bench, stool, and chair seating. Entrees and sides are always fresh and hot and portions sizable. The folks whining about "authenticity" sound ridiculous. If I want "real" Chinese (let's unpack that btw) I have a place for that. If I want to eat big on a sweet n spicy budget, I'm coming here. Tip: download the app. You'll earn rewards and get opportunities to earn points. We never pay full price. Which is good since we go at least once a week. :cough:

The quality of the food was much better than other locations I've been to, and the service was excellent.

The sauce had just enough numbing warmth without overpowering the dish, and every bite was incredibly satisfying. The texture combination of silky wrappers and bold sauce made it an unforgettable starter. Beyond the appetizer, the restaurant offered a warm atmosphere and attentive service that made the dining experience even better. The presentation was thoughtful, portions were generous, and the flavors tasted authentic and carefully prepared. If you enjoy dishes with a little spice and a lot of flavor, the wontons in chili oil are absolutely worth ordering. I would definitely come back just for them.

When it comes to food, I never judge a burger by its bun, so thanks to Yelp for helping me find it. The sign in the window says "Asian fusion" which usually sends me running as it's often a cop-out label for bad mixed-up Asian cooking, but this is authentic y'all, meaning true-to-tradition dishes with a sometimes more contemporary application of ingredients or flavors. The "fusion" part must come from the fact that they have a small Taiwanese section as well as the main Szechuan/Sichuan menu, alongside a few familiar Chinese-American favorites like sesame chicken or broccoli x protein, so you can get that here too. Everything we ordered was phenomenal! Great flavors, generous portions, cooked with confidence and finesse. Compliments to the kitchen - they really know what they're doing. Not a single dish was lacking. They even put out peanuts at the start and serve fresh orange slices at the end of the meal. Very old school. We loved it all: * Salt & white pepper crispy chicken ("Taiwanese specialty") - well-battered and flavored, and perfectly crispy * Taiwanese minced pork rice * Chicken red curry - fabulous, with fresh vegetables and just the right balance of spice * Golden dish (fish) - very special dish in a salted duck egg yolk batter * Beef chow fun * Marinated crispy duck Wish I lived closer, but will definitely come back when we are in the area. Best of the best - very highly recommended!

Just one patron picking up food. The restaurant has been remodeled. It is very clean. The only complaint was that it was 63 degrees inside of the restaurant. A bit chilly. The menu had Peruvian chaufa (fried rice), pork dishes, latin desserts and drinks. We ordered tostones for an appetizer. The dipping sauce was ketchup and mayonnaise. We ordered the Thai Basil with a wonton soup and vegetable fried rice combo and sesame chicken with pork fried rice and a spring roll. The food had great flavor, and the portions were big. The presentation was very nice. You can tell they really want to make their guests happy. The restaurant is currently set up as a take out place. They had several take out orders when we arrived and the phone kept ringing. They have one person answering the phone and taking table orders. It took a bit before water was brought out and our orders were taken but the staff is very nice and wanted to make sure we enjoyed our meal. There is parking on premises. Will definitely come back to try other items on the menu.

But with that said, my girl wanted some Indo Chinese.... so we made the trip here to see whether it's worth a second visit. Now, to be clear: the Rose is a Pan Asian Cuisine. So it's not necessarily just Indo Chinese, but it also encompasses flavors from all the other countries too. We ended up ordering 3 items in the following order: 1a: Gobi Manchurian 1b: Smoked Vegetable Sizzler 2: Mushroom Sautéed in Ginger Garlic We ordered the first two together and those arrived relatively quickly. The Gobi Manchurian was the better of the two, but I wonder if it was a bit too overpowered with spice and less of the sweet and sour taste (or even the soy sauce). The spice was a bit too overbearing. The sizzler was fine, but it was mostly onions and peppers. The tofu - while cooked fine - surprised me because it was like the silky ma po tofu (which coincidentally is what they serve here). In other words, the same tofu is repeated across multiple meals. I think the tofu needed to be pan fried at least for a sizzler. Because of the above, we didn't feel full and thought that the mushroom would provide a different taste pallet. Unfortunately, that was a miss as the mushroom had the same taste as the gobi manchurian, when it should've been infused with the ginger garlic. Additionally, the mushroom was way too overcooked so you couldn't even taste them either. It was like a crunchy mushroom. No good. To make things worse, the waiter, who also manned the front desk, seemed a bit too aloof at times. Often that meant not refilling water unless prompted and not providing the check on time or not even setting up the tables properly with silverware. It was a bit disappointing. This place has the potential, especially with the cute decor. But failed execution with the food and some lackluster service do not make this a place I'd recommend in the future.

We were seated very quickly, thankfully, and the ambiance of the restaurant was inviting and elevated. The menu looked fantastic at first glance so we were excited, and our expectations were exceeded. We shared the Veg Bao, Chili Paneer, Hakka Noodles, and Veg Manchurian with gravy (served with rice). All dishes were sooo so delicious - perfect level of spice, lots of garlic and onion flavor, huge portions. The parents were trying to figure out what to order, and asked our server for recommendations - he suggested something called the "Triple Schezuan" which was a combination of rice, noodles, spicy sauce, manchurian pieces, and more. They RAVED about this dish - the portion was also massive! Service was wonderfully attentive and best of all they don't use any cilantro in their food! Hallelujah! Highly recommend this underrated spot.

Freddy's puts out a decent fast food burger. Juicy fresh toppings and flavorful. Our orange cream shake went perfect with it. The facility is clean and the staff friendly. If you're not going to read to understand then this review ain't for you…read more I've been to the new Freddy's 4 times and I've waited to review it until I could figure out what was needling me. I got it. I used to pass the one in Linden and was psyched to see one finally make it down our way. Me and hus went soon after they opened and got a burger fries chicken and onion rings. During the initial days they served these matchstick potato sticks. HATED IT. Food was OK but not great. No biggie - it was new. Went back on my own to try the lemon custard one night. My acid reflux said NO MAAM so I got to enjoy it going down - and coming back up. It was good though lol. Me and hus went back a few months later - almost same order as before. Dang near $35. Mind you we coulda gone 2 miles down the road to Chilis or across the street to Shake Shack for the same price and better food. Last week I got a message that it was "national steak burger day." Lmaaoooo I love when niche restaurants and hobbyists make their own day. To celebrate, their burgers were only $1. This was actually the motivation I needed to break through the massive 4ft snow and ice mound township contractors placed at the foot of our driveway. 2 hours later I'm at Freddy's getting a double burger for $1. I finally cracked the code!! Freddys is good - it's just overpriced. And I'm saying that with love. Fast food in general is horrifically priced right now but I felt this way a year, year and a half ago about Freddy's. If the price point was $3 lower for a combo the juice would be worth the squeeze. I realize this may not be possible - please place your pitchforks down. Pros: The restaurant is always sparkling clean Friendly employees Fast and efficient pick up Food is good immediately and after a 20 minute drive home Amazing rewards - USE THE APP for savings. Verdict: the food has improved greatly since the early days. The concept is classic culinary Americana - burgers and shakes. It's just too much money for what you get. I'd go back as lit. As I can leverage my app rewards. Can't do it at full price.
