Because they have on the go, great food and a relaxed atmosphere. Their service can be a little iffy, but the food will always be worth it! They also have relatively low prices, and it is a quick and easy choice for dinner. If you ever find yourself at Panda, make sure to try their orange chicken, broccoli beef, and crab rangoon. If that doesn't sound appetizing-- don't worry! They have plenty of choices for people with all different kinds of tastes. They have a very good mixture of sweet and savory, spicy and mild, and even tangy if that's your style! They even have some healthier choices as well. Also, if you are not sure if you like something, you can sample it. I think that this is super nice and convenient because now you don't have to worry about it if you've never had it before. This also opens the opportunity to try something different every time, so you aren't stuck getting the same thing over and over. The design of the building is great for just sweeping through, or sitting down with some friends to hang out. They have comfortable seating that ranges from normal tables, to booths, to high-top tables. They have lots of windows, so if you go during the day the natural light in the building is very pleasant. Also, the location is right in the North Shops, so you can even stop by if your stomach starts to growl while you're on a shopping spree! Now to the service. I have had a couple of not so great experiences with the workers. We got several eye rolls from one of them just because we had asked for something that she had to make. I would understand if this if it had happened with just one person, but it seems that lots of the different people the different times I have gone have been pretty rude. They have messed up our order a couple times, and then snapped at us when we try to explain that that isn't right. However, these are just a couple bad experiences, and I think that it is still a pretty all-around good place. Don't get me wrong, the food is good, it's the workers who are rude. Ever since one kid saw me come in to pick up my own food rather than a customers order, they constantly have me confirm the customers order or prove it's mine on a personal order. I'm treated like a thief every time I step foot in there even though I haven't done anything to make them think that. And every time that kid is there, he is death glaring me the whole time, to the point I won't even sit and eat there anymore. We stopped at this location on our way to Kansas City in all honesty because Chipotle was packed. There was three or four people in front of us, but the lines seemed to be moving somewhat fast. Once we finally ordered and grabbed most of our food, trying to find a clean table was impossible. Every table needed to be wiped down, still had food on it, or was sticky. The drink station was nasty as well. On a good note, my husband was wanting teriyaki chicken. They cooked him a fresh order so having to wait a few extra minutes for hot and fresh food wasn't bad. Don't waste your time! Our experience was horrible. We walked into an empty restaurant. We walked past the food line and me and my husband were talking about dishes we were interested in that we had never eaten before. The staff absolutely ignored us for 5 minutes... standing at the beginning of the "order here" area. As my husband and I had the discussion about being ignored, a staff member finally said, "I'll be right with you." After being asked if our order was for HERE or TO GO, my husband asked to sample the sweet fire chicken. The staff informed my husband that, due to covid, they were unable to allow sampling. My husband then asked if he didn't like his entrée, could he let them know and receive an entrée that he is familiar with... that he likes. The staff were indignate and rude that if he wanted another entrée, later, that he'd have to pay for that. He and I decided to leave... and the staff extremely sarcastically said, "have a great day!" with enthusiasm they clearly didn't have either when we arrived or as we waited for service. Then the lady cleaning the bathroom and the manager on duty wouldn't let my 4 year old daughter use the restroom until I insisted before she had an accident. The Panda Express in St. Joseph, MO was a huge waste of the $30 I spent to have it delivered via UberEats. Their food was poorly cooked and inedible. I ordered the "Super Greens" or steamed broccoli, which was so undercooked it was crunchy and tasted raw, as if from a veggie and dip tray. Their chow mein noodles were disgustingly undercooked and their fried rice was completely bland and unseasoned. If you can't even cook fried rice properly, you have no business working in a Chinese eatery. The chicken and mushrooms was stomach-churning. Panda Express is good because you know what you are getting since it's a chain fast food restaurant however some locations are better than others. This is not one of the better ones. Maybe I went on an off day but the food just wasn't great. I got the white rice and the lo mein and the white rice was undercooked or old. The lo mein was okay, nothing spectacular about it but nothing particularly wrong with it either. The service was just okay as well. I'm not a big fan of having to ask for packets of soy sauce. Twice recently I ordered terriyaki chicken only to find out after they were boxing up my order that they don't have terriyaki sauce. To top it off I had a coupon "buy 2 entrees and get 3rd free". Apparently, the coupon doesn't mean what it says because I ordered 3 entrees and 3 sides and was told I had to get an entree without the side to get it free.
