This was ok food. Not great, Not bad.. just ok, I do love the hush puppies! I will go back, when in the area and the mood hits .

Was there at opening its alot cleaner than before and food was fresh because just opened. so wait was worth it food was fresh. Only thing that troubled me was they were throwing things out as i was standing there, at opening, waiting for my food. so do they just leave all the things at closing laying there til morning shift. Oh boy. I don't know who is preparing the food there, but they should look for another line of work, and I mean now. Could not eat the green beans as they were nothing more than green vegetable salt. Ugh. The fish and particularly the hush puppies, were laden and saturated with grease to the point that if you just lightly pressed on them, a stream of liquid grease would ooze out and run down your hand on the plate. Like water from a gutter, no kidding! Disgusting! How could the cook, and yes the manager too, not know that this is happening? We gave this place a chance three times during lent, and the same thing occurred every time. Unless you need more LDL cholesterol in your life, and wish to encourage sodium toxicity, followed by a stroke, you should avoid this place. BTW the parking lot is a hot mess, covered with knee deep potholes that have been there for two years. In fact, these potholes actually have potholes. Incredible. read more

The food was okay and the service too. The huge concern is the man swallowing potholes. You have to decide what risk you wanna take. Clogged arteries and salty tastebuds washed down with liquid sugar or busted out tires and a trip to the mechanics to have them replaced. You could always choose both though. read more

Went to Long Johns a few days ago and was treated like the scum of the earth! Very rude service, made me feel like a fool, dirty tables! Also the drive thru is ridiculously slow..will not be eating here again. First time in about 5 years that I ordered from this place. What a major disappointment. Had it delivered. I ordered popcorn shrimp, clams, fries & green beans. What I got was made 6 pieces of popcorn shrimp, overcooked clams, the fries & green beans were so salty I couldn't eat them. The shrimp was evidently cooked in same cooker as the fish because I had small pieces of fish mixed in with it & the batter they use on the fish. Total waste of money. read more

We were greeted by.....FLIES!! Lots and lots of flies!! The fish, chicken and shrimp portion of the meals we ordered were fresh and delicious, but the rest of the sides were cool (fries and green beans). Coleslaw was fine. We didn't get our full order and were told the rest would be out shortly. Yet, it never came and we had to leave for an appointment. As for the flies, we constantly battled them. I used to live in st joseph and went to LJS all the time. I don't understand the one star. My past experience there was just fine. Went in, was waited on nicely, got some tasty food, and then left. Went through the Drive thru the other night. They weren't very busy, I had to wait for almost ten minutes on my order. I get home, it's wrong. Also I realize they didn't return my credit card. Food was sub par (even for Long Johns) I pick up my credit card the next day at the counter, they send the manager out, she has a disgusted look on her face, hands it to me and doesn't say a word, turns and walks off. I really don't like all the fried seafood. Like ev-er-y-thing is fried. However the hush puppies are to die and the cheese sticks are tastier than most. I will warn you, hush puppies come in orders of 2 or 6, nothing in between. The inside is very clean and the staff is friendly. The atmosphere was better than expected and fun for the kids. I give it 2 stars just because there is basically nothing I like on the menu but the restaurant is clean. My friends and I just recently visited and rang the bell at the end for good service. read more

I wish I could give it 0 stars! I was the only person in the drive thru. I waited over 15 minutes for my order. When I paid the staff did not indicate or tell me there would be such a long wait. When I received my order the staff did not apologize or acknowledge my long wait. I say there staring at them through the window. I watched them wait on 3 customers inside who all received their food while I waited. The staff were wearing hoodie jackets that were in no way affiliated with Long John Silvers. They looked trashy and unprofessional. Had I not waited so long I probably would not have had the time to notice how dilapidated and dirty this restaurant was. From what I could see through the window, the walls and counters were disgusting. They looked as if they have never been wiped or thoroughly cleaned since the restaurant opened. The outside of the building was just as bad, but of less importance because my food is cooked inside. Speaking of the disgusting food that we received, it was grease filled. The fries were almost sopping with grease. Not that it mattered because we barely got any fries! I also ordered 2 orders of clams which they took upon themselves to combine and throw in one box. No problem though because they were also inedible. I paid over $20 for this crap and I'm frankly pretty pissed about that! I will NEVER eat Long John Silvers again and I will recommend nobody else does either. This restaurant in particular needs to be closed and demolished. read more

Last time I went here I had to keep reording, and explaining my order to the staff while at the drive thru. I don't know what the issue was but they made me pull up and order at the window. I was using a coupon, and the "help" didn't read my order back. Needless to say when I got home my order was vastly different than what I had thought I paid for. When I called back and explained what happened, the MANAGER gave the phone to girl who took my order, who then started in on me before I could even start talking. I was like excu- well, hold o-, uh-huh, yep excu-, when I could finally talk I said this could have been avoided if she read my order back. She totally lost it. Yelling about how it wasn't her fault that I didn't know what I wanted (I was using a coupon, I knew what I wanted before I left the house) or how to order at drive thru. Anyway the real shocker was that the manager just let her go like that, and suggests that she's been trained to act like that. Eventually I couldn't take it and told her she was a real C. yoU. N.ext T.uesday, and hung up the phone. I haven't been back since and that was right after christmas. Sorry I wrote a novel, but that just stuck with me, and I just got laptop about 3 days ago. The only reason I didn't check my order at the window, was I knew that would take a decent chunk time. I used to work at a fast food restuarant, and theres a clock above the window timing how long each car is at the window. The longer the car sits, the louder your manager yells, the smaller the raises. So generally speaking when I get my order I punch it, cause hey, i've been there. read more
