I have always had good service from this location but today, I bought 3 meals for my family and each meal came with fries. But instead of the usual waffle fries, we got 3 medium containers of fry pieces. Each container had maybe 3-4 actual waffle fries then the rest of the container was pieces of fries not even big enough to dip. It was Wednesday, the 25th day of November, the eve of Thanksgiving. We were traveling to Iowa from Kansas City. The trip was going smoothly, conversing about past trips to visit family on holidays. We recalled when we were the youngest at the table many years ago. Now we have been replaced with a new generation of youngsters. Screaming, spinning, running, jumping around the farm house like we used to. As the numbers on mile markers rose, so did our anticipation for mounds of mashed potatoes and succulent slices of ham and turkey. The thought of a table abounding with delicacies such as these brought us all to an insurmountable hunger. Then we came upon a highway sign that seemed to glow vividly on this otherwise dark and cloudy day. The sign read "Chick-fil-A" in sweeping re cursive. We knew that our destiny resides within the doors of this eatery and decided to pull off the highway to stop. There was a particularly crisp breeze on this cloudy day in St Joseph. When I stepped out of the car, it cut through the layers of clothes and chilled my body immediately. We hurried towards the door and were greeted by a man and his young son holding open the door. The breezeway was considerably warmer than the outdoors. Inside the restaurant was electric. Holiday travelers had seen the same signs we saw and filled the room. An empty chair was hard to be seen, yet we managed to sit at a table that had recently cleared. One of us saved the table as the others got in line to order. The line went swiftly, with the clerks registers making familiar opening and closing noises. Before we knew it, it was our turn to order. "Bev" read the clerks name tag. She looked up after filling the register and said "Hello, how may I help you?" softly with a smile. We had done it. We made it to the Mecca of poultry. As we placed our orders, we felt a sense of joy that can only be obtained through the scent of fried chicken. It was spiritual. It just felt right. It was perfect. The food was good. I love me a good fried chicken sandwich. Chik-fil-A probably makes the best chicken sandwich of any fast food restaurant, and this is a very nice location. The food is good: chicken is moist, waffle fries are nice and crispy, drinks are good (haven't had their shakes, but I hear they're amazing). Service is fast and friendly, which helps because it can get super busy here. My qualms are fairly minor: first of all, the parking lot is insane. There's hardly any room for a car larger than a sedan to park into a spot and then back out, and since there can be a ton of people eating here it can be downright dangerous (especially since so many customers are families). Also, even though when you request for sauce they give you a lot and say it's okay to leave extras on the table it'd be nice if they were just out in the open to take ourselves. But overall, this is a fine Chik-fil-A location. I'll continue to go here to get my chicken fix in St. Joe. read more

This Chik-Fil-A is great! We visit every couple of months or so while driving from Nebraska to Missouri to see family and have never been disappointed. The staff and management are attentive and friendly, the restaurant, restrooms, and play area are always spotless, and the food is good. Expensive--just go to a regular restaurant for these prices. The tiny dry white breasted sandwich needs all the sauce you can get to give it some flavor. The grease from the sandwich soaks the white bread until it is just soggy. Their signature sauce is the only thing that gives this sorry piece of meat some life. But the service is absolutely unacceptable. Today an order of 4 piece chicken strips (as a meal) along with a Southwestern salad with avocado dressing. Simple right? Well the chicken strips arrive but no salad. The young man comes back to tell me no salad was ordered. ????? Have the ticket right here. Sorry but he can't handle the buildup of each time we've stopped here and the order is screwed up. A manager says the meal wasn't paid for...????? So why do I have a receipt stating otherwise? My look and demeanor must have said this isn't the day to mess up and the meal was given to me. Without paying for it again. Sure it's Monday, but attention to detail never takes a day off. If Chick-fil-A is your go to chicken fix don't stop here. They will manage to mess up the works. As far as stopping here again... don't see that happening again. Unbelievable read more

Sorry to the guy without his coffee. I've been coming to this chic fil a since it opened and have seen go through 3 owners with he newest Ruthie just taking over a couple months ago. They have always been outstanding with customer service and I have no doubt they would be more than willing to send you a refund or a card for a free meal, which could be used at any CFA. They would not want you feeling as if you had a bad experience. Also, keep in mind, no one is perfect, and in this industry you are constantly training young and new ones and I have no doubt Ruthie gone over it with her crew. Take care and please try them again.
