I used to love their food but today will be the last time I get anything from there. The entire restaurant is filthy (you can see through their drive thru window) and be prepared for rude customer service. First and foremost, the reviews commenting on the English are racist and rude. This place is great, been eating here with the girl for years now. There isn't much we haven't loved, but this place is not for everyone. If good food at afforable and reasonable price is what you're looking for then look no further. If you want fancy place with over pricced food but someone to wipe your behind then go somewhere else so us locals can eat here in peace! The server is very nice and friendly, she is always making conversations and while we eat, we can tell she has a good relationship with all her customers as they come in for food. I am confused on how to write this article so I will attempt to do my best staying positive because I do not want to hurt anyone's business. I will start with the parking lot which has beautiful foliage. The paint job is spectacular and appealing to the eye with a vibrant red. Upon entrance there is a coy pond to the right hand side that frankly really made me upset to the point where I wanted to ask the owner who greeted us immediately if I could clean it for them because I felt so bad for the fish. It was just NASTY. It was from the continual water flow but the filter might have been broken for an extremely long time and there was sludge everywhere including the tubing from which the water flowed from. But that has nothing to do with the food. The owner rushed over to greet us immediately as previously stated with a beautiful and welcoming smile. She advised us that we could sit anywhere that we wanted to and we elected to sit in a booth on the left hand side. There are two huge TV's on the walls parallel to each other which made it a bit un-personable in my opinion but again, that has nothing to do with the food. We were given a menu and the waitress rushed over to find out what drink we wanted. I requested a pot of green tea and the waitress whispered "Hot Tea"? I replied yes (is there another way to get a pot of green tea?)... we were brought crispy wonton chips with sweet and sour sauce right after. On every table there are two pieces of paper (go look at the picture) with a different special and pricing that should have been on the menu. There was also hand writing in and on the menu, so I guess they are expensive to print new ones. It just really looked tacky. We started with the Po-Po platter that includes 2 of the following items vegetable egg rolls, chow chow beef skewers, BBQ ribs, fried circular shrimp, fried chicken wings and fried wontons. Everything except the wontons stuffed with cheese and the chicken wings were good to me. This was delivered in a good time frame. A bowl of egg drop soup came out next preceding the Mongolian beef plate that was accompanied by a single egg roll and fried rice for my man and I ordered Squid with black bean sauce that came with a small bowl of white steamed rice. The Mongolian beef was flavored decent but seemed as if it were too sweet and the cut of meat was very grisly. The fried rice was great after dousing it with soy sauce, I am sorry but it tasted old or reheated via microwave. The squid was actually pretty good but was over cooked and had way too many bell peppers and onions that took away the taste of the squid. The steamed rice was the bomb and I wanted to mix the sauce from my place but there was no room for it. As we were eating I noticed the patron in front of us leave and I swear to you that this is what I saw. The waitress walked over to the bus tray and grabbed a dirty rag, she walked over to the table and laid it down. The waitress gathers the dishes and takes them back to the bus tray then lays them in their perspective places. She walks back over to the table and grabs some napkins from the dispenser and wipes the table with them throwing the food on to the floor. With her hand she wipes the food that has fallen on to the booth seating and scrapes that on to the floor as well. Next, with the dirty towel from the bus trays she spot cleans the table and walks back over to the bus tray and throws the towel back in it. I am not sure if this was a one time thing but I am pretty sure that it was not. I used the bathroom prior to leaving which was also in need of attention with their soap dispensers leaking down the sink and on to the floor. I think I was upset watching that older woman busting her butt watching the other employees taking what seemed to be promotional pictures of them pretending to be on the phone taking orders rather then actually working. She should have made them clean the bathroom walls and the soap drippings along with the coy pond that is going to have dead fish soon. If you have time to lean, you have time to clean. PERIOD The best thing that I ate was that circled fried shrimp that came with the Po-Po platter. It was freaking amazing and I wish I had a plate of them right now. I would come back here again but I think that I would bust out my sanitary wipes and just wipe the table down first. That is all I am saying. YOU HAVE TO TRY THAT SHRIMP! read more

If I could I would put no stars. They clearly don't have the ability to maintain their order processing. I waited for 30 minutes for them to tell me they didn't have my order ready that I called in 45 minutes earlier. What's the point of phone orders if they aren't ready when you arrive. I ended up leaving due to the chaos of people just waiting in line and arguing about where orders were. This process caused no social distancing at all. They need to get it together fast. That day made this place the best place to get SALT and PEPPER WINGS. Perfect amount of salt, crispy chicken , garlic, red chile pepper seeds and the green onions. I ordered the Sweet and Sour Chicken Lunch Special and my husband got the Shrimp with Lobster sauce ala carte. When I arrived at about 6 PM they are busy and there's people with walk-in orders totally blowing up the reception counter. I just sat in the waiting area for the mess to finish, maybe 5 minutes. No big deal. I'm glad they have business. They probably wait all day for the dinner rush. They were very nice. Maybe not at the top of the restaurant service efficiency game, but they were getting it done. The food was pretty good. If I held that General's chicken up against other versions I've had, it was a little different. Theirs was lacking the vinegar kick and they took liberties with the vegetable accompaniment (but who gets the General for the broccoli anyway?) still it was pretty good and worth having again. After years of trying to find a decent Chinese place near Lemon Grove - we finally found a spot that we will consider being regulars at. We found Panda House on Yelp and we were wary of trying a Chinese place with few reviews (as the place has only been opened for under a year). We had difficultly with the online menu, it appears that they don't have Orange Chicken on it (which they do serve) - so we had to end up calling the place. An oriental man picked up that had a thick accent, and I ordered my food. I asked if they had white rice with the order and he said yes. We pulled up and we noticed there were few vehicles in the parking lot. It was around 6 or 7 on a Friday night, usually if a place is good there would be people eating here. We walked in and noticed that the fish tank was a little dirty. Our radar was saying "Oh no, this food won't probably be good." Well we were wrong. I ended up ordering the following: -Orange Chicken: It was actually pretty decent. Just like a Yelper stated before, these people use some quality ingredients. -BBQ Pork Appetizer: I was wondering why an appetizer portion cost $8, but once I opened the box I knew why - there was plenty of beef! The flavor and quality of the meat was pretty good. I have to say, the sauce they add on top sure compliments the dish. -Kung Pao Chicken: Probably one of the best items we ordered. Most places label there Kung Pao as being "real spicy." Well these people got pretty damn close, without us asking for it to be hot. I will definitely be ordering this dish in the future. (Highly recommended!) -Chicken Chow Mein: Your average chow mein, was pretty decent. I wasn't overly excited about it - but it's better then most places. Again the Chicken they had on it was quality stuff - it made the dish. -Stir Fried Rice: Wait what? I didn't order Stir fried rice -- I wanted white rice. Oh well. I'm not much of a fried rice person, and I remember why. These people just basically added egg and that's about it. Not very flavorful. I've ordered several times for party trays because it's near my place. The fried rice is good. The chicken wings are good, but not as good as Royal Mandarin or Golden Chopstix in National City. We Yelped restaurants and I saw my buddy Juan's review and decided to give Panda House a try since we were in the area and wanted Chinese food. We arrived here about 12:30 and there were only a few cars in the parking lot. The restaurant looks like a Chinese restaurant from the 70s. There was only one old waitress for about four full tables of lunch customers. She seemed very frazzled and was sweating profusely. She finally took our order and dripped sweat onto one of the Chinese Horoscope placemats on our table. Our table ordered some of the $4.95 lunch specials which includes soup, rice, egg roll, and the entree. We ordered: Kung Pao Chicken Mongolian Beef. Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings. Mapo Tofu with Pork The Kung Pao Chicken and the Mongolian Beef arrived within minutes. We had to ask about our soup, she forgot. She brought the soup right out. After five minutes later, the Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings finally arrived. After about five more minutes (when everyone was done eating), the Mapo Tofu with Pork finally arrived. My wife and I tried this place not too long ago and it was a very enjoyable experience. Apparently my wife used to eat here with her family when she was younger, but she didnt know until we showed up. They have a drive thru window as well as walking up to pick up your order. We got out order by calling in and picking up at the front door. We ordered the Egg Drop Soup, which was probably the best that we have ordered in a very long time. My wife loves the stuff and is a huge critic, this place passed with flying colors. Also as an appetizer we ordered dumplings and eggrolls, both were astounding. For the entrees we ordered sweet and sour pork and orange chicken. When trying some place new we like to get the basic stuff to see how it comes out to start. I can easily say that the food was the best Chinese food I have ordered and ate in a long time. Panda House blows the competition out of the water. This place is horrible. Food is inconsistent and usually stale or overcooked. To staff doesn't speak English enough to get the order right and then if you complain, good luck getting any where. I ordered the chicken fried rice, which is about the only thing I've ever ordered that's consistent. Upon returning home , I discovered it was pork, or some type of animal, but definitely not chicken. I called and agreed to return to the restaurant to get chicken fried rice, like I ordered. Someone tear me away from this place! Not only is it conveniently close to my place, the food is one of the best Chinese I have ever eaten. Best of all, it's pretty damn cheap! I come here every week or two and the owners already know my face and are so nice to me, haha.
