No stars what so ever. First let me say I do not want any free food! I have never had a good meal here but continue to try every few months for my husband's love of mussels. Tonight was the worse. Everything we had off the buffet was cold. One bite was enough to check the rest. It was all cold. Makes no sense because there is steam coming from the buffet. When we told the lady up front she said I'm sorry we will make more honey chicken. It will be hot. We did not want honey chicken. That's not what we came for. We decided to leave without eating. We end up to the register and the woman said you have to let me try. We have and she started naming off chicken dishes that would be fresh and hot. My husband told her he didn't want those dishes. He was upset and told her we would not be eating. She the. Rang up a ticket for the two buffets and told us it would be $26. He put $21 on the counter for food we didn't eat and told her that we would be sharing our experience with others so that they wouldn't be charged for cold buffet food also. I'm done finally and will never go back. It was very disturbing that this was all she could do to make it right and still charged us for food we never ate. One bite cost us 21 dollars. This is a new Chinese buffet opening on 21st street near Wanamaker. Chinese Buffets are plentiful in Topeka and this is the first new large buffet on the west side of town. The restaurant has both booths and tables. The interior style is modern with lots of dark wood and steel decor. Booths are large and comfortable. There is seating in the reception area if you have to wait for a table. There are many chicken entrees including Sesame Chicken, Sweet & Sour, Teriyaki, Indian Chicken, Kung Pao, and more to choose from. Chilled Peel & Eat Shrimp is available along with a hot shrimp and fish entree. An area for Crab Rangoon, spring rolls, eggs rolls, pot-stickers and appetizers of all varieties. There is an area for fresh sushi, another area with a large salad bar that includes a big selection of fruit along with fresh crispy vegetables. There is also a large area for desserts including cakes and cookies. The peel & eat shrimp was fresh and properly chilled when I arrived. The chicken dishes that I sampled included, Indian Chicken, Sesame Chicken and Teriyaki Chicken. Other than the different flavors of the sauces, the chicken dishes tasted about the same except for the Indian Chicken that had a hot bite to it. The area of the food tables can get very crowded as people arrive to fill up there plates. The aisles around the food tables are very narrow, so I noticed people bumping into each other frequently. The water we had was served in a dirty glass with chunks of something floating in it . If you are a healthy eater, there is shrimp and plantains, salad bar etc. the grill selection was a little sparse, but you could choose from beef, chicken, or fake crab. Do not expect good sushi!!!! The food was not impressive at all in taste or temperature especially for the price we paid. We paid $43.38 for two adult buffets, two drinks and a 2 & 3 year old (who barely ate one plate put together).
