Looking for some authentic and nicely made Chinese food, this is the place to try. Beautiful little restaurant and great atmosphere. The folks here are super nice and friendly and it's a great place to be! I had their wonton which was great followed by sesame chicken. The crust on the chicken was crunchy which was new to me as usually that is soggy in other places but it turned out to be amazing. The broccoli can make or break a meal but this was very soft and easy to chew and just the way I like it! I will be back again !! read more

I ordered dinner for my husband yesterday June 14th, 2025, I ordered Chicken fried rice ( It was ok) and the House lo'mein ( the worse I have ever had) I have never had lo mein made with spaghetti noodles before!! It didn't even taste like Lomein at all. It was tasteless, no oriental flavor at all. They do not sale shrimp egg rolls ( only ground beef) And on top of that she refuses to do extra anything...like she will not even add extra onion if you want it. I will not recommend this place to anyone. Never gonna patronize this business again. read more

I was driving through Salisbury around lunchtime today and did a quick search for a Chinese restaurant-and tried Wong's. It was clean, quiet and had decent reviews. I ordered three lunch plates: Pepper Beef, Sweet and Sour Chicken, & Sesame Chicken (medium spicy). Two of these had an egg roll and the other had steamed broccoli. All three had "Fried Rice." The food was prepared quickly and tasted very good. I especially enjoyed the three entrees and egg rolls. Wow! The egg rolls were even freshly made in house-yum! I would go back for the egg rolls alone, for sure. The same with the entrees-delicious! The Fried Rice? No. It was white rice with some sort of "yellow chicken broth" coloring"? And nothing else! Not even a carrot, or a single green pea or scrambled egg. Service was nice and friendly. read more

I'm fairly new to Salisbury NC and was looking for a good Chinese place to satisfy my cravings. I regret trying this place badly!! I spent $39 for food of which most went in the trash. The only thing we ate was the pork fried rice, which wasn't bad, but not great either. The Beef and broccoli was tasteless with tough strips of beef. The chicken lo mein was just as bad. Tasteless and tough pieces of chicken. This place does not velvet their meat which is why it was so dry tough. I have never experienced such lack of quality at any other place, and Wong's is now top on the list of worst places for Chinese food for me. Never will I return here or suggest this place to anyone. I have cooked better Chinese at home. This place sucks save your money!! read more

Not about their food because I never got it. Do not try and order from Uber eats. Apparently their menu is not correct. After waiting an hour, the uber courier called me back and said they no longer make what I ordered. Why did the restaurant not call me and notify me? Wong's is authentic and excellent Chinese food. The spices and flavors are not what some might expect but all are good. I have had about every dish on the menu and tend to prefer the chicken dishes. It is a small mom and pop place with a dedicated following because of the good food and superb customer service. Every member of my family has a favorite dish. The staff couldn't be kinder even with obnoxious bullies. read more

We tried Wongs for takeout and really enjoyed it. The items are a bit different from your typical chinese restaurants but very good. We tried the scallion chicken, mongolian beef and egg rolls. The sauces were very light and the meat was cooked well. Overall it was more expensive than the average take out but I would buy it again read more

If you want good Chinese food in the small town of Salisbury- Wong's is your best bet! First time I came here, the inside looked very 70s because of the wood panels on the walls, lol. We ordered takeout on a weekend evening around 6:00ish and the owner took our order. Super sweet lady that was very engaging with each guest that came in. However, it got really busy all of a sudden and we noticed people waiting to be served. So I would recommend just having more staff during rush dinner hours but the food was great!! I always get sesame chicken with brown rice. Definitely returning! read more

I had been hearing a lot of good things about Wong's and was at an art gallery a couple doors down for business and decided to try it for dinner that night. The interior is small but clean... nothing impressive. We decided to order our food to go, and go to my house to eat since I only live a few minutes away. Nobody's food was bad, but wasn't anything to write home about. The three of us all ordered different things, and got a chance to sample each othe's dinners but again, nothing was bad. I really have had much better chinese food. The lady that took our order was very nice and friendly, our food came quickly, can't complain about that. Wife is picky with Chinese food and this place fits the bill. They have different twists on a couple items that I'm aware which are very good... Crispy Sesame Chicken which is way better than your typical soft mushy types.. Also Sweet and Sour Chicken is fosses in the sauce which is also better. Owner is friendly, they are accurate with their orders which is critical and the food is great ! One last thing of note is the hand sanitizer at the door for the current times and owner wears face shield. Spot on great job! read more

They've made changes in light of COVID-19 that made me feel safe and were very courteous incorporating masks, social distancing, and even face shields into their business. My family and I have been eating at Wongs for over 25 years and always enjoy going there. We've never had a bad meal and urge you to try their wor shu gai, spring rolls etc. The best around. The family who runs and owns Wongs has been there for as long as the restaurant has been in existence, as far as I know. Everyone has a bad day! Don't totally eliminate them from your restaurant options. Give them another chance. They are not a buffet....pile it on and stuff it down! This review is for any dish involving fried chicken. Previous negative reviews have mentioned other dishes, and I know nothing about those. But I've gotten scallion chicken, sesame chicken, etc. more times than I can count. Wong's makes the best version of these dishes I have ever had (keeping in mind that I am talking about inauthentic Chinese food). They manage to make it extraordinarily crispy, and the sauce is NOT goopy (finally!). You can ask to make it spicy... and it won't actually be spicy, but it will be very flavorful with a tiny kick. The environment is nothing special- I don't really care about that, but if you do, get takeout. The service has always been very friendly in my experience.
