4.5 stars The sandwiches here are so good!! I got the prosciutto with mozzarella, roasted peppers, and balsamic glaze and it was absolutely delicious! The prosciutto was one of the best I've had. It wasn't stringy like the ones I've had at other places. Roasted peppers were good as usual but another star ingredient was the balsamic glaze. It had a thicker consistency and sweeter taste then regular balsamic vinegar, making it that much more tasty. The brick oven bread was awesome and not too hard to chew on. Best part about this place is the pricing. I ended up paying $11 for the sandwich, which I was easily able to split into 2 meals, as compared to Lioni's nearby where it's a few dollars more and places in the city where I would have to pay close to $15 for the same sandwich that I got here. Service, like most reviews say, is chaotic but I didn't find them to be mean. It's a popular place so that probably explains why. Definitely recommend this place for Italian sandwiches in Brooklyn and I look forward to coming back and trying their coffee and pastries as well. Tip: If you're ordering hot food (sandwiches, prepared food, etc.) you order at the deli in the back section and pay with the cashier in the front section. The front section is only for the pastries. The past reviews are true, you have to wait a bit to get service but half the time it is because it is so packed inside with people trying to buy all the pastries. Everything is simply delicious and the prices are great.They also sell fresh bread which is mouth watering! It is a chill ( but busy) cafe where you can grab some lunch and catch up with friends as well as buy some sweets after. This time we had two cappuccinos, a Sfogliatelle and a fruit tart. This place sure does make some delicious treats and I have had several items from here over the last few years but never Yelped about it. For the most part its a bakery but you can also get a variety of other great things such as coffee, hot sandwiches and salads. Sadly I was only visiting this place to grab some cookies for a holiday dinner because they have a wide assortment. I settled on a two pound package of assorted cookies and was hit with sticker shock since I have not bought something like this in quite some time. It was almost $30 which I later learned was normal based on some of the cookies in the assortment. Mind you I was not cheaping out on this at all but have never delved into cookies for that price. It probably would have been cheaper for me to bring a big batch of cold cuts to the gathering. The bottom line is that there is a lot of tasty fare here at Paneantico and everyone visible around me seems to be enjoying themselves whenever I take notice. I want to sit down and enjoy a meal here sometime as having take out stuff is nice but is not the same experience. Little peace of heaven I used to live on Staten Island and royal crown was my favorite casual place to grab a nice delicious salad, some Italian hero, or a nice coffee and pastry. The place is great and i'm surprised they haven't expanded. Outside of all the baked goods, they make great sandwiches and coffee. They bake all their bread fresh daily and have an amazing balsamic reduction as a sandwich condiment that you must try. If you're in the neighborhood, def stop in for lunch or brunch. Their cheesecake is light and fluffy, just amazing and they also make chocolate bread. These are an easy fix if you're going to a dinner party, never fail. We have gone there many times for dinner and I have found my favorite sandwich. It is a sandwich with smoked mozzarella, hot sopressata and arugula. It is so delicious. It is the bread that really makes the sandwich pop. Also, they make their own Balsamic Vinegar reduction (available for purchase even) that really adds a great flavor to the already flavorful meal. They have a very friendly staff working behind the counter and waiting tables. One of the best is Cathy. Her sweet smile mixes into all the other sweetness in the dessert case she stands in front of. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU HAVE ANY FOOD ALLERGIES. Unfortunately I learned this lesson the hard way. I ordered an arugula salad to go, returned to my apartment to relax and eat and find out it's a mixed greens salad. This may not be a major mistake for others but for me it's an allergy, which meant I couldn't simply just eat it. I called them up and they said come in and will give you a new one they have no delivery people. I walk the mile to get there and they were not apologetic and I asked if they could throw something in for the inconveniences like a cookie or something but no. I go home to find out they didn't make me a new salad since there was still mixed greens at the top half of the salad. Therefore I could not eat it all together. Bottom line is their food can be good, inconsistent but good. Their customer is extremely poor. Maybe they don't have any experience with allergies there and don't realize how detrimental it can be but I am hoping this review alters their perspective. read more

This is the 2nd time that I call before I come in to pick up coffee beans and the lady on the phone tells me they are open till 10 I get here at 9:30 lights are off business is closed. Last time this happened it was at 9pm on a Friday night as well. I wouldn't be that upset if I lived nearby but I drive all the way from longisland to pick up coffee beans here because it's one of my fave places in Bayridge ( where I used to live all my life) this is extremely disappointing and frustrating. I think if you brought in a random person off the street, they would do a better job than the people working behind the counter. My husband ordered two egg sandwiches on bagels. Pretty easy order, right? He asked the girl three times - you got that right, two egg sandwiches? She said she did. He picked up the food, came and met me, and when we opened the bag, there was ONE egg sandwich. Here's the rub- The egg sandwich had about six eggs on it. So it was basically two sandwiches on one bagel. As a person who worked in the restaurant business my whole adolescent Life, I cannot even believe how ridiculously stupid these people are. When my husband called them, there was no apology, no offer to fix it, just general apathy towards the whole situation.
