I have to say, I think this location has been much better as of late. Better management? Possibly. They actually answer the phone if something has gone wrong with a delivery. That being said, my review is about the new Croque Monsieur Croissant Toast. Oh! It sounded delicious. Croissant type bread with Swiss cheese and ham. Yum. It was greasy and gross. I won't give the restaurant a bad rating for a particular sandwich so I will maintain the 4 star rating. It's not the particular stores fault that Panera came out with a greasy mess. The ham had a sweet taste to it. But the greasy bread! UGH. Either way, this location has done it's due diligence by stepping up its customer service and good food. This is my usual Panera, but this sandwich was...interesting. I went and ordered a tomato soup with a grilled cheese sandwich in person. This is the sandwich I got. How and why does it look like this? I didn't think a grilled cheese was that complicated to make I guess. I always appreciate how the staff at Panera do not bother you if you spend several hours there or even close out the restaurant. Panera's menu has changed so often, and I find myself searching for my favorite food items that are no longer there (bring back the horseradish sauce, justice for the French onion soup, etc.). [[HIGHLIGHT]]I have been to my share of Panera locations, and I believe this one is my favorite. It's warm inside and even has a fireplace near the entrance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff are all pleasant and extremely helpful. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The dining area was very clean and appeared to be well-managed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Since I was there for several hours, I noticed how the staff kept up with the cleaning.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I also noticed how polished and clean the silverware was compared to the Raritan location, for example.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I have routinely opted out of using the silverware and instead will grab the plasticware due to my lack of confidence at the other locations, but again, this location provided clean utensils. It's always a gamble when eating out, particularly in a fast-casual chain environment. I ordered the creamy tomato soup, smokehouse bbq sandwich with customizations, and a bottled orange juice. Everything tasted as expected, good -no complaints. [[HIGHLIGHT]]And again, I really appreciate Basking Ridge for not skimping out on the heat to ensure their customers feel warm and comfortable while dining in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It makes me upset to know that I could've been going to this location all along. Lastly, Panera, it is always frustrating to see your favorite food items removed from the menu or remixed without notice. No complaints here. They even have a fireplace to enjoy a nice hot drink on a cold day. Very friendly staff that were accommodating and kind. Went out of their way to please me...yes, I'm hard to please haha. As for the food, I enjoyed the pizza and side salad. I didn't know they even made pizza, which was a flatbread type of base. VERY big pie, was not expecting that large of a pizza. It was tasty also, but I wouldn't say it's better than a pizzeria pie. I would get again, but would only get it if I was sharing it. The drinks were as good as any other Panera. Plenty of kiosks to place your order, or you can step up to the counter to order. The restaurant is located in a strip mall right off Rt78. The outside seating area is nice. The inside is very big. The staff is very nice. There must be something going on with the self ordering kiosk, but the staff came out quickly to help me and the lady next to me. Food is tasty as usual. The lemonade is really good. Price has definitely increased quite a bit, but I understand that. Definitely recommend this location. read more

This Panera location/store has to be one of the WORST me and my family have ever order from since we eat here often & live in the area. This goes from as simple as not making the correct order to simply having a dish that is incorrectly with the wrong ingredients. We have giving you guys plenty of chances and it looks like non of your workers take their job serious. I get it... it's Panera but when your a chain restaurant, it must all taste and look the same. Consistently poor service. This week I have alerted staff on 2 different days that their cup lid storage is filthy. They say they will clean it. Never do. It's Day 3 and look what is STILL dirty. Their entire store has dirt, food, dust on every window sill, shelf, cabinet, etc. Staff doesn't care. They just ignore anything you point out. I'm not sure why this location is rated so low. I have been going here for about six years and have always had a positive experience. Their online ordering app works great and service is pleasant. I've gone into the restaurant for a meal and it is clean and tidy. Just yesterday someone took my online order from the pickup shelves before I got there and the staff were very kind and quickly made another salad, no questions asked. On three different occasions, I have ordered from the Panera app and received the wrong items. The bakery manager the first time around was kind. The man I spoke to today was rude and careless. I was given a chicken noodle soup when I ordered a chicken and wild rice soup. I ordered a grilled cheese on sourdough with tomato and avocado. I received it with greens and some green sauce. We stopped into this Panera Bread to grab a quick bite before hiking around Jockey Hollow. The service was quick and social distancing was being enforced. I wanted to try the new Panera flatbreads and I have to say, I'm pretty impressed. I decided to go with the Margherita flatbread. The base of the flatbread was soft and fluffy with a slightly crisp crust and great flavor. The cheese blend was excellent! I also really enjoyed the fresh, juicy, flavorful tomatoes. The fresh basil topping was a nice touch. Panera isn't playing around. For a fast-food spot, their flatbreads are quite good. read more

Very unimpressed. This particular location is very dirty. The dining floor was very dirty. Chairs had tears in them. The bathroom was a step or two above a gas station bathroom. I was on a trip in New Jersey and brought my puppy because my cousins wanted to see him. When I left I went to Panera and ordered. My mom asked if they'd let my puppy in and he said it was fine just to stay in a certain area. We did, we ordered Raisin bagels but they gave us blueberry, but got a raisin after, and also I got a smoothie but it had ice in it. I've stopped at this location and number of times over the last 7 weeks, and the thing that is most consistent about this place is that they are always out of something. They never seem to get their act together. You can order online and when you get there, something is missing and they have to call a manager to refund you. Other Panera locations will gray out any item that's not available so that you can order it. If you go to make your coffee they are always out of cream and milk. Today there were no paper towels in the ladies room. It's not busy right now so I don't know why so much stuff is out of order. The food is fine. Typical Panera. The place is rather dirty; there never seems to be a table without crumbs and the windows are poorly cleaned. But trying to enjoy your mediocre meal is made rather tough when you can continuously hear the GM yelling at his staff behind that half wall they have. Wow, had a quick business meeting there shortly after lunch. The floor was a terrible mess. I noticed, but didn't give a lot of thought to it since it was right after lunch. But, then I got into the bathrooms. WOW, the back of the toilet hadn't seen a rag in months. There was a layer of dust on it. Also, there was long dried "stuff" down the sides and on the rim(s). Stopped by here after visiting a friend in the hospital. It is located on the endcap of a strip mall, and has ample parking in the front and in the back of the strip mall. Because of the COVID times you order at a kiosk on a mini computer. I ordered the pick any two combo, with a half of a tuna sandwich and a small chicken Caesar salad. I did not make any alterations to it, just "as is. I placed my order during rush hour (12:15 pm) and 5 minutes later in my hand was my lunch, in a to-go bag. As I had ordered it. My meal was fine, nothing to complain about, nothing over the top. They had an expediter working the pick-up area making sure that the right food was in the bag, and went to the right customer. She actually asked me if I had a Panera account instead if me having to tell her. Great way to start the day Hope I spelled her name correctly Unfortunately I have to take back my previous review. I went in this morning. One cashier was taking an order. Another worker was walking around the area. Let me be clear she saw that I was waiting for service.
