Wow, what a zoo. Today (5/2/12) was the grand opening and people were stacked on top of each other trying to get in. This place has a drive through that I was thinking about stopping at but, it was 10+ cars long so, I just drove by. Very cool idea having a drive through for Panera! I would give this Panera 0 if I could. Stood at the register for 2 minutes (no one else was in line) waiting for the cashier to acknowledge me. He was busy messing with his cellphone. Other employees walked past, still nothing. After the gentleman proceeded to curse at his phone, I walked out. I could have said "excuse me" to get his attention, but honestly, I wasn't in the mood to interrupt his phone time and had better places I could go to grab a coffee and a bite. read more

Love this place especially in the winter. Their soups are delicious. Rcmd the half sandwich and soup. (or salad) You may want to take home some of their wonderful artisan breads. Service is always exceptional, atmosphere conducive to easy conversation, the food basic but delicious, and, importantly, inexpensive. Summertime is the time to relax and enjoy a great salad on their patio and enjoy the vistas of the Rocky Mountains laid out before you. We have been fans of Panera bread for years. What I'm reviewing is their bread! Yes. We buy our weekly bread-sourdough-via the drive thru! You can purchase the small loaf or large and have it sliced just the way you like it! When we purchase the large loaf, I freeze half of it to ensure fresh bread all week. Once in a while, Panera runs out of the sourdough or needs to save some for the restaurant crowd. And yes, we love good bread! read more

Just horrible.Super small portions, half way put together sandwiches. On top of that, they forgot half of our order.The manager was too busy to talk to us. He made some poor high school kid deal with it. I insisted on talking to the manger and was placed on hold for 10 minutes before the manager decided to get on the phone and tell me I was wrong. Ordered for pickup. Was planning on going through drive they since I had my kids with me. The drive thru was blocked off so I had to bring myself and my two kids insides. I ordered Cheddar Broccoli soup in a bread bowl and a side of cheddar broccoli because their portion sizes aren't enough. Order took super fast to come out. I Got home to eat it and didn't get the bowl of soup like I ordered. Instead I got two small sides of soup and a bread bowl. The bread bowl was super stale like it had been sitting out for a couple days and the soup was super cold! It also tasted like it had sat on the stove for too long and got burnt. It was awful! This is the worst run Panera I have ever encountered. Every time we go our order gets messed up somehow or we are dealing with an employee with a bad attitude. The quality of what we order is sub par. Either skimpy ingredients, replacing items without consulting us, luke warm meals... the list goes on. I'm a vegetarian and ordered the spinach artichoke soufflé. Well apparently they ran out and substituted a ham and cheese soufflé. We sat in the drive through for over 15 minutes and didn't even get what we wanted. I'm over it and I'll be using Kneaders across the highway from here on. read more

We have been to this Panera bread several times the last time we were there we asked for a certain kind of bagel and the manager told us they were out we thought maybe she just didn't want to go look and we are right we asked another employee if they had the bagel and she went and grab one this was just pure laziness on the managers part we stopped in today for breakfast same manager was there. You guys, who needs a job?!? Go work with the awesome team at this Panera. I was running from one errand to another and I needed some dinner. I hopped in the drive through at the Castle Rock Panera to grab a sandwich last night. They promptly took my order and I pulled forward to the window and waited. After a few minutes a very polite person opened the window and let me know that they were very busy, under staffed, and trying to get to my order as quickly as possible. As such, she wanted to wait to take my payment. After about 10 minutes she came back and had my sandwich ready to go. She told me that because it had taken so long, my order was on her. I was astonished! I know it has been very hard to find reliable staff as of late and to have come across someone so pleasant in the throws of chaos was incredibly refreshing. If you are looking for work, I am thinking they might be hiring. If not, go get lunch there and support people like her! read more

This is probably the worst Panera I've ever been to. I usually love Panera. I asked for a ham and swiss sandwich plus avacado that's all. After driving home, I discovered that they only gave me bread and avacado. They claim that accuracy is important and if they mess up to let the manager know. I let the manager know and never received anything. read more

Love the rapid pick up idea but this is the second time my order was wrong. I gave over 30 minutes lead time 11-11:30 Am. This time I had paid extra for extra tomato extra bacon and extra hard boiled egg totaling an extra 1.99 before tax. Didn't get any of the extras I paid for. Pretty ticked right now as it was a thirty minute round trip and I don't have time to go back to have it fixed. I asked for no chicken so I added the extra egg as my protein. I like Panera's, just won't be going to this one any longer even though it's only a 3 minute drive from work. At least the last dozen times we've done a Rapid Pick-Up there's been something wrong with the order. Either a missing item or a sandwich not being made correctly. Most of the time I catch a missing item as I have gotten into the habit of checking but should I really be expected to tear down each sandwich before I leave the store to ensure they are all correct? I think they count on the fact that you don't check and don't have time to make a 2nd trip back to the store after you notice their mistake. Today was almost a double mistake. They had apparently run out of a couple bakery items after we had ordered. Completely understandable as Friday lunch is a busy time. They had scribbled a little note on the receipt that they didn't have the items. But, had I not happen to notice the little scribbling on the receipt I may not have noticed until it was too late (again). I got the manager and she happily said they would substitute something else. I asked her, "What if I didn't happen to see the note? I would need to make another trip to fix your mistake.". She had no response for that. So I did get a couple replacement items. Once I sat down to eat, I discovered I only got a half sandwich instead of a whole sandwich as I had ordered and paid for. No time to go back so I'm just out half a sandwich. Can't wait for the Castle Rock Whole Foods to open and I'm going to start looking into other nearby lunch stops. read more

I work at a Panera Bread in Atlanta and we get food out within 5 minutes. this is by far the worst I've ever seen. Ticket times at 30+ minutes. No sense of urgency. Food poorly made. While I was waiting I witnessed at least 3 people come up with their food made incorrectly. read more

Try to order it and I'll be amazed if they haven't run out of it already. Bacon, croissants, bread bowls.... it's never an option. Food is so-so when they do have something. YAY!!! REAL FOOD HERE IN CASTLE ROCK!!! Finally, other options for our out-of-town guests other than Applebee's or Fast Food. :) Sooooo this location ; parking is tough when you have a big truck. Inside, the patrons are so IN A HURRY, god forbid you don't know what you want -- and with the patrons rushing & stressing (which was weird), it makes the cashiers feel like they have to rush you too. :-( I've found the drive-thru is much easier, less stress, faster, and the menu is straight forward with friendlier, more relaxed service. Their food is just as great as all the other Panera's I've been to - their Asiago Sandwich is to-die-for. Yummeh!! read more

The food here is fine. The staff is nice. Their ability to take peoples orders and get those orders to you whether it be drive thru or inside is TERRIBLE. I have tried coming here 3 different times at different times of the day and I have NEVER received my food in less than 20 minutes. It's ridiculous. read more

Worst place in the world. I have no idea how the got voted best work place of 2018 they treat their employees like dirt and they don't even pay them enough. I know someone who used to work their and they say that newer employees get payed more then older employees. I refuse to ever give them a penny of my money ever again. Your staff is rude and seems to enjoy making you feel stupid. Everything we asked for we weren't treated nicely and that was every point of contact, from ordering to picking up. We couldn't just blame one employee for "perhaps" having a bad day. Someone like the manager must be setting the tone and making it uncomfortable to eat here. It was dinner hour and not many people were eating here. You might want to look into what might be the cause. I think it's an enteral issue for you. read more

Wow, it never changes. The service is typically par at best but today takes the cake. We ordered at 11:56pm and when modifying my order to not include onions or tomatoes on my salad, I was told it came with "stuff" on it. We finally received our food at 12:23pm, had to get it to go as we were now running late and they didn't even include utensils. Consistency is great here if you want a sit down meal that takes upwards of 30 minutes to receive. Food is decent, but service is extremely slow. Good luck, we won't be back. read more

Never have issues with this location and have been going for seven years now. Whether it's dine-in or take out.... my order has always been correct, tasty, and quick. My husband usually asks for an extra baguette on the side of his meal and they are always willing to give him. The location is convenient and has a great mountain view when you sit outside or in the covered patio area. read more

I love Panera, so it pains me to leave this review. The sandwiches were incorrectly made, contained old (hard, crusty) cheese, and were so messy they weren't worth eating. No pickle with the sandwiches. And the tomato soup from the you pick 2 tasted like pizza sauce. I usually have high hopes going here because the food is usually delicious...definitely not this time. I went for lunch, at the time of check out I was asked if I wanted to leave a tip for the service. I hit yes as I typically do, then before leaving asked the person that took my order if the company gives them the tips? They don't.... I know someone that works there and thought I'd check with another person, no tips. Food was ok, but the price is high ($15 a person for meal and drink) compared to other areas in town. Terrible customer service. I called and placed a pick up lunch order on behalf of one of my physicians for a company meeting. When the Doctor arrived to pick up the order they didn't have the order on file. When I called to speak with the manager he did not apologize or offer any type of compensation, he defended himself and staff and stated I must have called the wrong place. Even though my cell phone clearly shows the Castle Rock location number on my call details. We are all human, and its ok to make mistakes sometimes. But don't blame your customers because you are disorganized. Take some ownership and make it right. Would not recommend this location. read more

This place has the worst drive up window service I have ever seen!!! They are really slow, but that would be OK if they ever got the order correct? We've eaten at this location 5-7 times in the last few months - we've moved to CR 7 months ago and are flipping a home which is taking more time than we ever imagined. each time we visit Panera we encounter the large female 'non-help person' behind the counter - close to rude - too lazy to actually move or ask - may I help you - we've encountered her each time we are there - seriously I'm surprised she continues to be employed. Second time to be visit when they are out of clean silverware - today they were out of butter!!! ALL help is seriously lacking in protocol. $30 bucks for 2 adult meals and a kid meal. Both meals were just ok, and we didn't even get drinks. The portions were so small it was more like eating a 1/3 of a sandwich and my husband got a bag of chips with his meal that was worth .60 from a vending machine. I would think they could do better then that. At least give your customers a handful of chips on the side of your plate like most cafés if that's the look you are going for. We won't be back unless everything else is closed and that a big if. The only enjoyable thing was the cookie my son had. Also the you pick two menu use to be a great value- two items mixed for $6-7 bucks now it depends on what you ordered my meal was $10. Forgot to mention the old leafs in my salad...gross. read more

Their customer service was fantastic after we finally stopped in from awful conditions road and weather wise they let us in to enjoy our meal with 15 minutes to close and went above and beyond to make sure we felt warm and welcomed.
