I have had some couple of times here and I usually love Panera Bread for their lunch options. And , bear claw cookie is my all time favorite. Unfortunately, what did the cashier /waiter do while she took an order of Southwest salad without chicken , instead I asked for a substitute of quinoa. For which, they did not give me any substitute , and just plain salad. How sad is that!! And she spent so much time in taking my order shouting on top of her voice. I don't understand , where did she miss it ? I was hungry and after opening salad after a while, I realized now that salad is without any quinoa. This is the hardest Panera to find and get to in all of Charlotte. You have GPS and a smartphone. Every animal instinct tells you this is all wrong. This is the Bermuda Triangle and there is no straight path to the Panera. You can be so close and hopelessly get lost. Why does this all matter? If there is any issue with your carry out order then you need to adult your way back to the hardest to find Panera. I have had issues with this Panera. My orders are on the explicit side, but at 10usd for a salad you are going to have to earn it. I don't pay that much for some basic salad the way Panera intended it, I Frankenstein that salad into a mashup of complicated deliciousness. read more

Yesterday, there was a glitch while ordering through the app and the app gave me an error message. I tried again & the 2nd time...it went through. My husband picked up our order at the J.W. Clay location. When he arrived home...it was found that the chips was not included. I called the store & the worker said the next time I come...to let someone know & they will give to me. This morning, while checking my banking mobile app...2 charges were drafted. I called Panera Bread & spoke to Fatima (manager). She said I had to come back for them to view the bank transaction for a refund. Needless to say, I went up there today & Ms Fatima & Ms Tenashia (not sure of the spelling) was wonderful! There were no issues & due to having make an extra trip to come back...they made everything right. This is what customer service should be like. Disappointed! Found hair in my breakfast sandwich this morning. Talk about starting your day off on the wrong foot. Also, management really needs to take a closer look at their drive through crew and setup...I don't think the same person making the food should be taking the money at the window from customers, not a good sanitation look at all. I live right near this location so I am a frequent visitor of this particular chain. The food is in my opinion just as good if not better than the other chains. However some others chains in Charlotte don't always match the quality. What I really love about this Panera is the staff. They are all very friendly and always looking to enhance your dining experience. Not to mention they have a sense of humor and don't find it an issue to explain something to a customer. Overall a great restaurant that I frequently visit and shall continue doing so. read more

I like Panera bread nationally. Generally they have fresh food and a comfortable store front. I've been to this location twice in this week. Regrettably three stars is about right. People are nice but interior just needs some refresh. A new repainting, Windows are dirty, exterior furniture needs a repaint, maybe replace the carpets, keep up with crumbs on the floors, and table wipe down. Most stores are experiencing shortages, we came for breakfast items yesterday and they had run out of strawberries and all fruit unfortunately. read more

Visited here about 10 minutes ago for my pregnant sister. She ordered an iced latte with whipped cream bacon egg and cheese and a bagel with cream cheese. Before pulling up to the window the order taker asked what flavor cream cheese she'd like. We get to the window and we are handed a hot latte we asked for iced. The girl at the window (we watched her) pour hot latte over ice add whipped cream and hand it back to us. To nobody's surprise the drink was hot still . We asked for it to be re made. The staff is rude and slow. I came through the drive thru and it took 5 minutes just to take my order. (Every item i asked for, they had to check if they had it in stock). When I got to the window, the order was wrong and I had to place the order again, and wait for them to prepare it. She handed me a bag and didn't say anything so I assumed she was just closing the window for a second to grab something else, but I guess that was it because I sat for a moment before she opens up the window and just nods. I drove away and found out I was missing items. The items I did receive were okay, it wasn't terrible but it definitely seems like some items had been sitting out for a while. Went to Panera for lunch and the service was good but my sandwich was a mess. Kinda just thrown together. The pesto and tomatoes were all on one pile in the middle of the sandwich instead of just dispersing it. Also a tiny ripped up flimsy piece of cheese was thrown on it and it just didn't look good. I decided to come to this Panera because I had a business meeting. The great thing is that they do have free WiFi and a very cafe like feel. Also they have food options and drink options as well. I ordered a Madagascar vanilla latte which was good and my wife ordered a mango smoothie with Greek yoghurt which I thought was amazing. Found the most amazing Cinnamon CRUNCH bagel in the world, but everyone in the world must have taken them this morning. Its awkward enough to admit I would willingly take on the hike to drive mallard creek green way detour for a bagel, but considering the long day ahead I figured it would be a nice reward. "We are out" keeps screeching through my head. I love that they offer Free WiFi, but how is that helpful if I am coming here to eat. Unfortunately it's the same old song evertime and my advice would be to avoid this location if you are craving one of their delicious treats. Prepare yourself to hear "we are out" no matter what you order (Soup, bagel, cookie ). I had the chance to dine here for breakfast for the first time today, this Saturday 2/11. I've been to Panera many times before, but always for lunch. I do not know why, but when I think of weekend breakfast spots to try, Panera Bread is usually not on the top of my list of places to go. However, due to the fact that my gf had a gift card we decided to give it a shot. Service - Service was amazing, prompt, polite, friendly, etc. I could go on for days, I'll just sum it up by saying, the place has damn good customer service. Food: I ordered a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich on a bagel. It was good not great. I'd prefer the same breakfast sandwich from a place like Bruegger's or Einstein's. Bacon didn't have much flavor to me. The sandwich wasn't bad by any means, it was just ok. We also ordered a blueberry muffin and a pecan/cinnamon roll. The Blueberry muffin was great! The pecan/cinnamon roll on the other hand was not so great. It did not taste fresh at all. I feel like it may have been made a day or two ago. Drink: We ordered a strawberry smoothie before we left. I have mostly only been through the drive thru because it is too busy to find a parking spot and go in. The one time I did go in, it was swamped. They are mostly fine, just overly busy. Food is good. I'm not one to complain much but after waiting in line for 25 minutes and watch every order that comes by get messed up just to leave mine messed up is inexcusable. The food is fresh. Salads are green without wilted lettuce. Not my preferred place to get a sandwich, they are too lite for my taste, but they are tasty. Love the muffins, apple crunch is crack in bread. I've notice that not all employee practice good sanitation habits, for example you can't correct your lip makeup with your finger and you can't swipe the tip of your nose. The things I have done to salads at Panera are probably illegal in some states. Okay, thats not true. I just really dig in when I am craving a packed salad enough to shell out nearly 9 bucks (rabbits are not cash-rich you know). From what I can tell this Panera is pretty standard. Enticing menu, maze-like seating area and fairly quick service. While the employees here are really just super cheery, no amount of happiness hides the fact that at lunch time this place is mobbed. I have more than once been relegated to the bar that is actually IN the ordering line to eat my leafy delight. I am in love with this restaurant. Every location I've ever been to (thank god there are so many!) has been clean, friendly, and superior quality. There isn't much on the menu I haven't tried at some point. I can't think of anything I don't like here. One of my favorites is actually the veggie sandwich. It's always so fresh and flavorful! I also love the baguette bread you can get as a side. Bread and butter is one of those instantly happy things for me. I often run by here to pick up fresh bread and bagels, too. Especially if we are expecting house guests. It's such a nice little treat. They also have a pretty generous rewards program for regular customers. Went to Panera Bread to have lunch with an out of state family member. Was very dissatisfied with their parking lot. My SUV would not fit in any of the available spots available, especially to try and take my son's infant carrier out of the backseat. I used to love Panera in highschool, all I would usually get was a bagel and they couldn't mess that up (unless something was seriously wrong) but since then I've gone vegan and still wanted to enjoy Panera but the only *good and sustainable* vegan options they offer are salads or bowls that have to be customized. Fair enough, it's fast casual restaurant for everyone. But when I order the Greek and quinoa salad with no feta or chicken, I would hope to at least get the quinoa which wasn't even a part of my customization, but an actual part of the salad I ordered regardless of customization. I asked for extra dressing, because they barely give you any in the little dressing cups to go (maybe 1/4 of the way full like it hurts them to give you a normal amount of dressing) so I normally ask for extra but it turned out to be 4 tiny cups with a few drops of dressing in each, and to make matters worse they put the dressing in your salad container taking up half the room of your salad? So I ordered a Greek quinoa salad with no feta no chicken, and a few extra toppings, came home with a bunch of raw inedible kale, no quinoa, and basically empty cups on top of that kale, in a container. Should have just got a dam bagel. Dont expect them to take you seriously. read more

It's super sad when a place that you have enjoyed for many years has gone down hill. You can blame it on Covid, but in reality it's been going downhill well before Covid was even a daily saying in our vocabulary. My husband and I used to make it an every Saturday morning tradition starting with our youngest son when he was a baby (he's now 14). We loved the employees and they knew us by name and even memorized our orders. Now, we don't even recognize anyone, they don't even have traditional staples. How can you do breakfast sandwiches and you don't even serve sausage on breakfast sandwiches anymore? Any other breakfast place (I can think of at least 3 who do everything Paneras uses to do) No more provolone cheese, no French toast bagels - the list goes on. I have always prided myself on being loyal to a business. It makes me sad but Panera's is forcing me to find a new morning traditional location. I am truly in love with most of the staff here at this location the management staff is always friendly, and it is nice to actually have a bit of the same west coast things to study here. I am know to sit here most days for long periods at a time. Yes the Wi-Fi is slower during the busy times and they combat that by only letting you use it for 30 min during peak times. So that is when I actually have to work as Netflix and hulu don't really want to work when everyone is around. Love that they make bread in store, and donate to local charity at the end of each day! read more
