As a member of the sip free club, I quite frankly enjoy going to this location instead of the Edison one for a couple of reasons. -this is a way bigger location with more seats and tables -the views are nicer and the area is not too crowded -the outdoor seating is lovely and is either in the shade or their umbrellas are doing a good job of providing the shade -their staff although sometimes understaffed is quite friendly. One of the managers, Megan, even came up to us in the morning to check in with us, which I thought was cool. -I like how they have the self kiosk right by the door. read more

Located in the Clark Commons off of Raritan Road, this was my first time back in 2 years, and it appeared to be clean early this morning for takeout. Besides indoor dining, whose main room is designed in earthy tones with comfortable seating, this Panera Bread Cafe# 601755 also has several tables for outdoor dining, which I don't see at most locations. Upon entering, there were several self-service kiosks for a speedy ordering process or counter service. Greeted by the staff, I ordered my go-to Asiago bagel toasted with cream cheese for breakfast. The bagel was deliciously tasty with the warm cheese. Staff was friendly, service was quick, and the price was pretty standard, which I can recommend. read more

I have been going to the Clark location for 4 months now. This is the only place I get my coffee from now. The employees at this location are all outstanding, especially Elle. I've been trying Panera again lately after a long absence. A few weeks ago, I discovered the Green Goddess Cobb Salad with chicken and have had a yen for it since. The first time I ordered it, at this location, they were out of avocado, which was totally fine as the rest of the salad more than made up for it. At a visit to the Somerville location, I got the salad only to discover when I got home that there was no chicken on it. By that point, I was too far away to do anything about it. Today I returned to the Clark location to try my luck. Ordered at the touchpad, made sure the avocado was included in the order. Picked up the indoor window and took my order back to my car. I was about to drive away when I realized I should check to make sure everything was included. Good thing I did - while the avocado was on the salad, there was no chicken. Eggs, yes, but no actual chicken. Ya gotta wonder... when the food prep people don't include an ingredient that's actually part of the name of the dish... what's going on? I went back inside and asked if, indeed, there was supposed to be chicken -- that this issue happened twice, at two locations. Honestly, it made me wonder if some Panera lawyer had advised that egg could suffice for chicken as some sort of cost cutting move. The manager introduced herself, apologized profusely for the oversight and got it fixed quickly. I really appreciated the customer-focused attitude and hope it's a good sign for this location, as I noticed other reviews aren't too great. read more

First time at this panera. I like the setup of seating at this location. Kinda set where you can come and read a book or news paper without taking up a table. Has a table for 2 and up to 14 ready to sit you if not crowded. . First time I have tried breakfast at any Panera. Had a sausage, egg and cheese on Brioche roll. Was not hot when I got it which is a surprise since picked it up soon as they called my name. Cheese was not even melted. It even looked so... like simple. Guess looked for a signature sauce or something. Melted cheese would have help for me. Doubt would do breakfast at Panera again. I will stick to the Pick 2 at lunch time. read more

The driveway ALWAYS TAKES SO LONG!!! So I wrote a review here before and I have to say - the food is always pretty good. My gripe here is that almost EVERY-TIME I come here - I am waiting for my food for what feels like FOREVER! I am literally sitting in the drive through RIGHT NOW waiting for my food which is why I decided that I had time to write this. Excellent location - super friendly staff but Panera gotta do better. Wow. This place really went downhill. Friendly guy took our order but didn't ask what size sandwich and which side we wanted. Didn't tell us where to pick up the order. The tables were dirty, as was the floor. One friend had soup and sandwich and the soup sat there for a long time before the sandwich arrived. Nobody called or announced when the order was ready. This Panera was not very organized. No one was at the front register when we came in. The woman who was supposed to be working at the front was sitting, talking with another woman in the dining area. We ordered coffee and a strawberry banana smoothie. Coffee was not ready, so we had to wait. We were then told they did not have any bananas. When we went to the bathroom, there were no paper towels. Overall, it seemed like they were understaffed and generally disorganized. Wouldn't come here again. read more

I recieved a coupon so decided to stop in and get a coffee. I was able to park in the lot and go inside to order. The lady at the reguster greeted me and was so nice. I ordered the iced caramel late and paid. I went to the service area and waited. When I got my drink I walked out and tried it and it was disgusting. There was no caramel in it at all. I brought it back in and the cashier apologized and went back and was told there was no caramel. Why wouldn't they tell me that when you gave it to me? I asked for suggestions and ended up getting the chai tea late. It was pretty decent. They just need to do a better job at letting customers know when they cannot make something. read more

I love love love that I can always order a discontinued sandwhich and they will still make it. I prefer the drive thru because inside is a total crapfest. Kids standing around doing nothing. The pickup setting is weird how you have to walk over to the window area and wait. Holy cow. The Panera in Clark is a nightmare. Remind me to never go here again. Service was horrible and staff was RUDE. I waited almost an hour for my food and customers who came in after me were served first. I will never eat here again. This review is specifically about the Panera in Clark NJ. The one in Gillette is awesome. This Panera is horrible. I placed an order at 6:30 through the app. I got a text saying that it wouldn't be ready until 7:05. At 7:05 I got a text saying it was ready. But it was not. It was not ready until 7:30. An hour wait for Panera is unacceptable. The store was half empty. There was staff all around. People who ordered after me were being served before me. When I gave them my order number they said "we don't really go by order numbers". Clearly. I asked for butter. They said it was in there but it wasn't. I will never buy food there again. This location can not handle the business. Wrong orders. Extremely long wait times. I'm talking 45 mins plus after order should be ready. Missing items. No utensils. Staff is just throwing items around. Throwing food away. Touching their hair then touching the food. Pulling up their pants then breaking the baguette apart. So fucking disgusting. If you try to engage about the wait time you're dismissed. They don't call out the names of orders loud enough for people to hear and they keep the bags at the counter. They're reaching over plated food with their sleeves in the food. I'm not saying they're not hard workers or that they weren't slammed but they have ZERO attention to detail. This place has gone downhill significantly recently. I was here to get a toasted bagel. I was waiting for 10 minutes. I did not have time to wait for it so I asked for a refund. The refund process took another five minutes. How can an establishment have more than five workers working and yet cannot manage a toast a bagel in 10 minutes? Why does printing out a receipt take another 5?! That really is a mystery to me to put it mildly. This Panera overcharged me for a bagel I never even picked up. (Like 8 times much). To resolve the issue, I had to drive 40 minutes back to the location because the issue could not be resolved on the phone. Not one person apologized in the process of the issue getting resolved. Why wouldn't you tell me that before I even start ordering?! Everything on your menu has chicken in it! I've been to Panera so many times that I'm pretty sure I've tried everything on their menu. Solid quick lunch place to get a quick salad, soup, or sandwich. My favorite salad would have to be the Green Goddess that consist of all green veggies including an avocado dressing. All very tasty and filling. My second favorite salad is the Strawberry Poppyseed salad with chicken. It's filled with strawberries and mandarin oranges so it's really refreshing for summer. Love that they offer the kiosk option so you don't have to wait in line anymore because some Panera locations can get very busy. With the kiosk you place your order and just wait for your food. Try the fountain drinks they offer such as, Agave Lemonade, Plum Ginger Hibiscus Tea, Prickly Pear Hibiscus Fresca (my favorite), and many others. You also have the option of buying desserts and/or fresh bread from their bakery section. read more

While the staff was very nice, it took a long time to receive my order because someone put cheese on my salad. Me and my partner is lactose intolerant. I didn't mind waiting because at least the mistake was corrected. The employee who caught the mistake was super nice about it. However, we got home, and we checked my partner's food, and it was covered in yogurt and feta cheese. He could not eat it. He is even more severely lactose intolerant than I am and gets pretty sick from dairy. This isn't the first time something like this has happened at this location. I don't blame the employees. They are probably underpaid and overworked. I blame management. I have never had this issue at other Paneras. This location always messes at least one thing up or doesn't have key ingredients or menu items. It feels like its issue of management because a long running problem. Will never return. Will go to the Linden location, as that location is more consistent. read more
